Three Match Ban for Fellaini

We knew it was coming. After his moments of madness in Everton’s draw with Stoke on Saturday, Marouane Fellaini has been charged with violent conduct by the FA this afternoon and will now miss the next three fixtures over the festive period.

A statement on the Toffees official website revealed that while referee Mark Halsey saw two incidents involving both players – and deemed neither as “violent conduct” – he failed to see this headbutt , allowing the FA to retrospectively slap a ban on the Belgian.

Having notched eight goals and four assists so far, Fellaini’s loss will be a substantial one as David Moyes’ men take on West Ham, Wigan and Chelsea but from a Fantasy perspective, today’s news is equally crucial. The second most popular player in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Fellaini currently has 43% ownership but that is set to dramatically plummet as Fantasy managers quickly look to fill the void left by his impending absence.

As mentioned in our earlier Suspension Tightrope article, we’re already making plans to address the situation – a “Fellaini Exit Route” article is very much in the pipeline over the next day or so. Keep an eye open for that one.

    I think Stoke should be had up for crimes against football. They grapple and stifle and push and shove there way through games. It's horrendous.

          That's literally only because they're bigger. Yes it may be tougher football but parking the bus is parking the bus, there are different routes to it but it's all the same. I don't like the football they play, I'd actually actively avoid watching Stoke matches but they're a physical side. If people can't handle that then tough, some teams have tough players others have players made of glass.

    The backwards headbutt and little elbow jab was pretty much nothing but the punch/strike/whatever was pretty much the definition of violent conduct. Lucky boy.

        I did a stats comparison with him and the other likely candidates for that MF spot and young was surprisingly poor... not very fundamentally sound as an FPL prospect. From watching some games I thought he's be more competitive for that spot, but I've been put off (and also by the arguments made above)

      It's pretty cheap in the midfield right now though. One of the reasons I may do Suarez --> 8.0 or something, then upgrade Ramirez. Not certain though...
