634x258 The Stock Check

A disappointing Monday night affair saw Southampton dominate the opening period, only to concede ground in the second-half as Everton gained superiority. With little on show for Fantasy managers, here’s the Monday night Stock Check…

On the Up

The Southampton Defence
A second clean sheet in the last three maintained the form of the much-improved Saints rearguard. With Artur Boruc making several key saves, he is presenting a seemingly assured budget option in goal for a 4.4 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag, while both Luke Shaw and Nathaniel Clyne go on offering value for their 4.0 valuations.

Leighton Baines
In truth, the service from the Toffees left-back was not up to its usual standard but, having gained his second consecutive clean sheet, Baines delivered returns and, pre-bonus, is now just six points of the top of the FPL defender rankings. With West Brom and Villa at Goodison in the next two, further profits look on the cards for those who have kept the faith.

Going Down

Marouane Fellaini
It’s no goal in his last five starts for the towering Belgian. More significantly perhaps, the injury to Seamus Coleman forced a reshuffle that saw David Moyes shift him back to a deeper central midfield role and introduce Victor Anichebe up front. With Kevin Mirallas looking bright from the bench on his return from injury, Moyes has further attacking options and there will be slight concerns that the Everton boss may consider a change of position for Felliani having seen his side draw consecutive blanks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I prefer A, but Zaba, Gibba, Rafael and Dawson? Unless you plan on playing 4 defenders, downgrade Dawson.

I understand why Doosra is saying Defoe is on good 'form. He is hitting the target and according to Chris Glover, that's the best statistical indicator of goals. I may consider him then, although going with two Spurs players against a Norwich team that keeps it tight at the back at home isn't that inspiring.

Since Gameweek 6, Norwich have let in more than a single goal one time (Man City, 4). That's pretty sturdy, if you ask me.

Not really. They kept out Man United and Arsenal and let in a single goal against Chelsea. The 'Pool trashing was all the way back in GW6, they have tightened since then.

It sounds as if you searching for a transfer that dosent fit into a long term plan. Defoe?
Podolski at home to Liverpool isnt really worse than Defoe away to Norwich , not when it saves a valuable transfer.
If you must make one then Fletcher would appear the obvious short term punt

So far it has worked well. Allows us to move the second striker around based on fixtures while the five in midfield perform. Eventually, I'd aiming at having RvP and Aguero up top.

Is that the plan for many of us now then?

3-5-2, with a rotating striker to sit next to RVP, taking into account rotation, fixtures and form, and using Benteke, Fletcher, Dzeko and company as examples?

If Mata is enough coverage for the Chelsea Rafa-ttack, then RVP and Fletch looks like the way to go for the 3-5-2, with SUarez or Sturridge surely taking over from Fletch in a couple weeks.

It feels great going into a gameweek with that midfield every week I tell ya 🙂

My plan is to play 532 (most weeks, may occasionally play pog)

Once i have sorted defence out i plan to leave that and the midfield alone.
Using transfers only to change the second striker based on form and fixtures

Of course injuries/ suspensions and posponements will likel get in the way, but its
good to have an overall plan to avoid aimless transfers

QPR have only really looked vulnerable against Liverpool in the last few games, mostly because Suarez was running at Nelsen and Hill, twisting and turning. Aguero should run riot next week.

Not captianing RVP probably isn't the way to do this though. Need to have other differentials. I was over a hundred points behind the leader in mine but have made it up to just under 30 by selecting the correct subsidiary players.

Yeah, Bale and Walcott have been the big ones for me (of course everyone has the latter now because of the DGW). My cheap defenders have been picking up some useful points too (Davies, Nelsen & Fonte until he got injured).

RVP, Suarez, Ba AND the Power 5! Well done, but what a benching nightmare. May want downgrade someone and upgrade the defence. I am not convinced by West Ham's defence enough to keep O'Brien. I would not trust Dawson's playing time. Gallas is coming back soon, and so is Vertonghen.

Ok. You have to STOP making transfers! You have lost 164 points from hits. You'd be about another 800,000 positions higher if you hadn't done that....

Group E Preview: The Group of Unexpected Events

This group, comprised of The Light Knight (Norwich), Roscola (KR Reykjavik), RoysCallerAnne (Fiorentina), and Acquafresca (Panathinaikos), seems to include some of the most bizarre fantasy tactics to date.

The Light Knight has gone against the grain with his team, opting with 5 big hitters at the back, and also is without Robin Van Persie. This could end up being either detrimental to his team, or prove to be a stroke of genius, as we all know anything can happen in H2H! Light Knight seems to be the Dark Horse of the group, still with his Winter WC in his back pocket, but somewhat reluctant to conform to the typical FFS Wild Card Outline that so many have followed.

Roscola seems to have taken the form of the Pokémon Zoroark, who is capable of creating illusions that are indistinguishable from reality. This is because Roscola has a Team Value of 110.6, and has been trying to hide this behind his average rank. In reality, Roscola has been building his team value for this tournament alone, and is now ready for destruction, having activated his Wild Card in GW23.

RoysCallerAnne, the only manager in the group who finished in the top half of his league last season, seems to be the favorite of the group. Having activated his WC just before the start of Europa, the other three managers could be in for a world of hurt, if he gets his
    Wild Card spot on.

Last but not least, Acquafresca has shown some great resilience as of late. He fought back from relegation to stay in the Rest of Europe league last season, and has finally pulled up his socks as he has strung together five green arrows in a row after an embarrassing start to the season. He comes into Europa with a typical FFS team, owning most of the big hitters in midfield and of course Robin Reliant.

As we conclude the analysis of this group, we have seen four very different managerial styles. Europa League quickly approaches; these managers are itching at the chance to claim the top spot in the group! It is now up to them, with home field advantage and point hits playing a vital role in each match-up.

As Yoda once said, “Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.”

              lamps to hazard
              downgrade luiz
              walker to dawson

then either get pog as 5th mid and upgrade cleverly to michu or gerrard or downgrade cleverly to marveaux and upgrade henriquez to someone better. could you afford rooney aguero suarez as a frontline?

i'd aim for that frontline since you cant have studge or rvp. plus rooney over rvp should save you a lot of money

              zab, dawson, cueller, davies, clyne
bale afro walcott marveaux + one of hazard/gerrard/michu

i can't take nastasic out.. he is giving me good points and with good fixtures coming in i think he will give me more..

but if i get 4 defenders of 4 to 4.5 range i can get this team.. but bale is not possible with his heavy price..silva is affordable..

Absolutely not. 20mins premier league footy. Reading have better fixtures, as do Everton, and as we saw today (and recently), Anichebe might be seeing more time ahead here. Pog or Anichebe for cut price forwards, or even Le Fondre.

No, you're not going to be playing your bench player most weeks, but when you do play him then you want him to be playing minutes. Henriquez has by no means nailed down a spot in the Wigan team. He might..... But he hasn't.

Most are ditching. Depends how much you got him for I suppose.

I only got him for the DGW and as we have seen he's a rotation story.

      He's going for me.

got him at 8.2 as well. Too much of a rotation risk imo.

    Guys, some help please.
When I try to log in using anything other than Internet Explorer (which I really dont like) or my phone (ncomfortable) it doesnt allow me. I keep re entering my log in details but nothing happens
There is usually no problem with my computer at home using Google Chrome or Firefox.
I just cant log in at the computer I am at during the daytime ("work")
    Anybody know why this is?

Also, I cannot access the main site using any of the ISPs.. atm?
    Whats going on?

I can only log in using Explorer for FFS..
I cannot log- in on this computer on Chrome or Firefox for FFS. I just have to keep on repeating to put my log-in info in but I do not get logged in.

Also the FPL site is down for me on everything.

They both work fine at home or on my phone.
The issue may be the computer here.. it's a bit strange.

    Should I do:

    A) Caz + Ba -> Aguero + Fellaini (-4)

    B) Caz + Ba -> Bale + Fletcher (-4)

Morning deadzone. After Lennons quite impressive display I've decided to keep him instead of buying Fellaini. Do you see any obvious errors with my WC? (I don't want Michu).

That team is quite frankly a selection nightmare. Ridiculous squad mate. That's from someone with a rank in the 500k's.

      Change it all.

Get rid of 1 of the big defenders, if not two, upgrade Lennon to Bale, change Haz to Mata, Santi to Theo and you will be looking splendid.
