    Pointless question No 257

    Which combi would you prefer?

    A) Evra, Cisse, Sturridge

    B) Evans, Cisse, Suarez

    My other players are exactly the same as everyone else's.

    I'd like to keep one of the Pool strikers for their semi-decent upcoming fixtures but I'm a little concerned about Suarez's lack of involvement in their goals since Studge arrived.

      I can understand resting a couple of players, but to rest as many as he did was far too risky especially when our squad players aren't good enough. Don't worry though, we have enough 'quality' to challenge for titles...

        He rested enough players so that he won't have to worry about any more cup fixtures. Seems a good decision to me, struggling as you are.

        (Saying that, given all our goals have involved Walcott or Pods, you could see we were just a few Gervinho specials from going out).

    What a bitter disappointment yesterday was. I really think Arsenal need a massive clear out, from the boardroom to management to physios to coaches to players.

    Now would be the ideal time for Usmanov to make his move

      I'm far from an Arsenal fan but I do feel some sympathy for them given that they seem to lose their best player every year. It's almost impossible to build a winning team with that happening. Problem is, it's now a catch 22 situation as Arsenal need to challenge and win trophies in order to keep their best players.

      I have some admiration for Wenger's philosophy of creating great players but he needs to somehow include some players in that mix with the experience and mentality of winning trophies imo.

        It's the whole ethos of the club that has changed. We've gone from title contenders every year to a club that's happy to sell our best players to rivals and sneak into 4th every season for the revenue it generates. His hands are undoubtedly tied by the Board, but no other manager in the world would still be in a job at a top 4 club with no silverware in 8 years.

        Stan doesn't give a sh*t about our success. We need Usmanov to make his move and shake things up. As much as I admire Wenger, he needs to go. Poor transfers (in and out) and he's too stubborn to change tactics when his total football isn't working.

        Surely you think Wenger is culpable on some level? Look at his recent transfers if nothing else.

        Santos, Squillaci, Gervinho, Ramsey, Ox, Giroud

        I have so much admiration for what he achieved for us in the past. But his decisions are getting worse, and the game is changing. I'm not sure who (this is the hard bit), but I think the time for a change is long overdue.

          You can't just cherry pick the data and ignore the good signings, of which giroud is one imo

            I disagree - I think Giroud is incredibly wasteful. World class strikers don't need 5 chances to score.

            Of Wenger's recent signings, the only one who looks decent imo is Cazorla. The rest are either average or crap.

            Haha, seriously? Ramsey has been with us for 5 years, and he's never looked good enough imo. As for Ox, the jury is still out. Based on recent performances, £12m seems a lot.

            Agree Mertesacker has been our best CB this season. Verm and Kosc have been pants. That said, Mertesacker doesn't fill me with confidence - he's slow and always capable of a howler. How I miss the days of Adams and Keown with Vieira in front of them.

          Gotta say as a Celtics fan, the Lakers' struggle has been quite enjoyable. I feel for Kobe though, the man's a machine. I can't wait for him to reduce Howard to tears on the bench. I hope it happens tomorrow 🙂

          I was pretty excited going into the season with the good business we did in the off season but we're having one of our worst season's in years! howard over bynum is still a great move though and nash has been good as has Jamison. if we start clicking and make the playoffs though we could give teams trouble

    TW. I'm going with cisse along with sissokho. Not sure I would recommend it though. Without my toon goggles I might say you would be better with lambert. I'm doing it for differential value, and because my toon duo did so well for me last season at this time. Cisse really hasn't hit form yet. He is on the verge of doing so, but who knows when he will start putting them in.

    PS Sorry I haven;'t got round to doing anything on the odubles games. Been really busy at work. I've hardly been on here all week. Now I have a stonking hangover.

      interesting. alright that's what i'm leaning towards. btw what do you think about marv? worth shipping him for a hit this week? looking at these possible transfers:

      suarez + marv > lambert + lamps (or any other mid up to 8.7)
      suarez + marv > lambert + afro
      suarez + marv > cisse + mid 6.5 or less
      or i guess i could get better bench fodder such as kebe maloney or punch in for marv...

      Not bad, but you have Enrique, Davies, Michu and Sturridge out. Also Bertrand and Guthrie who probably won't play. Personally I would ditch Bertrand and Guthrie first as they have no future, whereas despite the blank the other 4 are decent options going forward.
