It’s been a while since we took a tenner from our wallets and paid visit to our friends at Paddy Power. A fortnight ago we were denied winnings by Bobby Zamora’s solitary strike after Michu had delivered on his side of our betting bargain. Undeterred by that setback, we’re at Paddy’s door again to examine the Scout Pick inspired markets for the Gameweek ahead…

Theo Walcott simply had to feature in this week’s bets. The Arsenal winger has run Robin Van Persie close all week in the Captain’s Poll and goes into the home clash with Villa well fancied to add to his already impressive 11-goal tally this term. Paddy are also showing confidence in the fleet-footed attacker, offering 16/5 on a Walcott anytime goal with a Gunners clean sheet. While we’re right behind Theo, we’ve got concerns on the Arsenal back four against the menace of Christian Benteke, so we’ll place a cautious £3 on this one.

The next market looks more up our street. Romelu Lukaku was inspired form when he was unleashed from the bench in the 2-0 win at Anfield last time out and, with a rest beckoning for Gameweek 28 against his parent club Chelsea, the big Belgian will surely be set free to torment the Black Cats at the Hawthorns this weekend. Paddy are dangling 6/1 on a Lukaku strike with a West Brom clean sheet against Sunderland – we’ll throw another £3 their way on that one.

Moussa Sissoko has been a revelation over his three matches for the Magpies and is another who goes into the weekend programme heavily backed for returns. Newcastle face Southampton at St James’ Park on Sunday: a crucial game for both sides. We expect that Sissoko will, once again, be played up behind Papiss Cisse to lead the charge on the Saints goal and, with two strikes to his name already, Paddy’s odds of 11/1 on a Sissoko goal with a Newcastle clean sheet look encouraging. We’ll wager another couple of quid on this one.

That leaves just a single pound to spend on Paddy’s regular treble market, which this week includes a potential fourth consecutive strike from Gareth Bale at West Ham. Paddy are dangling 18/1 on a Bale goal at Upton Park on Monday night, with a Walcott assist against Villa and a United clean sheet against QPR.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Those claiming RVP(C) is a no brainer are talking BS. Please have a Look at villa's defensive record this season, especially away from home against the top 6.

    Matches: 4
    Goals conceded : 18

RVP may be consistent but that doesn't mean he will outscore the likes of walcott, bale etc. every week.

Remind me again what RVP did against QPR at Olf Trafford ?

Bale - Mata - Walcott (VC) - Puncheon

yes but ollie could get a very big score this week (and possibly next week in the derby). then ship him out. 2fts between now and the blank so one goes to ollie and the other goes to another player with a blank and then you leave 3 on the bench and you're good to go

Morning fellas! So I can only field 11 if Anichebe AND Wilson start and both are doubts. I've already taken a hit this week but thoughts on taking another to ensure I can field another player?

Thinking Gerrard or Suarez > Silva or Kun. Or just stick with what I have and decide what to do with them next week?

You think its worth the additional hit?

Already have Sissoko. Can't bring in Nani because already have RVP/DDG/Evans and Afro worries me with the upcoming blank + 8 yellows.

Plan was to bring in Kun for Suarez next week but after his showing midweek I'm inclined to keep him and move Gerrard though there aren't too many tantalizing midfield options at the moment!

Both RVP and Walcott can outscore each other and are great captain options for this week. I am going for Walcott (C) for following reasons:

I saw you had Cisse as well. It's a bit risky, but with the potential blanks he's one of the few options IMO. Can always get Suarez back if it turns out to be a crisis, but with those fixtures I have a hard time believing he won't get points in the coming GWs.

    Anyone considering Lambert (C)?

Newcastle tired after game in eurocup + krul is out. Southampton rested and in form.

Arsenal and Tottenham also played game this week + RvP could easily struggle against QPR.

Manchester city could do well too i think...mata played full game midweek. unfortunately only got zabaleta...

Absolutely not. And I'm a Southampton fan. Cannot captain him over walcott, rvp and bale this week

Find someone guaranteed 4 points or more that plays GW29 for the answer. 😛

People discussing selling rvp for blank should remember:

Blank = game in hand = double gameweek

=RVP most nailed on captain choice in history

I thought Man U's game would be postoponed by just a few days, without affecting their gw29?

This hasn't been decided, and won't be decided until after Chelsea has played their FA Cup match.

People were discussing it as a possibility if blank is confirmed.

I'd love it of the game remains in gw29 since I have Rafael+Evans+rvp

Yes but that's using 2 transfers and in most cases a lot of money

2 transfers = points or if you don't take a hit it is a missed chance to add another dgw player = points
