FFS Members Cup III – Second Round Results

We’re down to the final 128 teams in this year’s instalment of the Members Cup as Gameweek 27 saw some big community names fall by the wayside including “Doosra”, “Back Back Ballack”s “dribbler” and “Gaz Downright”, among others.

“Evs”, now up to 20th spot in the overall rankings, navigated passed “CHUBBY” by a convincing 60 vs 41 scoreline but fellow big hitter, Jonah, slipped out of the tournament: despite being tenth in the overall FPL standings, he made way as “Dilley” put pay to his campaign by a narrow three point margin (42 vs 39).

Previous Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” is going strong thanks to a 40 vs 32 win over “DBREADY” but fellow Hall of Famer, “Kippax Kikkers”, departs the tournament, turned over by “BlzBob” in a close 38 vs 34 encounter.

As for the contributors, Paul continues to fly the flag – he made it through to Round Three thanks to a 46 vs 37 victory over Rossaldinho, as Big Dunc went out to “mcginley50”.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

        Hmm, was thinking more along the lines of City's form/last ditch charge for the title which should involve Aguero heavily.

        Getting in Lambert would leave me the odd situation of having 8.3m in the bank. Can't really complain about that though

      Aguero was absolutely shit last Sunday. I believe Ms Maradona has kicked him out of the marital bed and dossing it in some £5k per night hotel suite obviously isn't doing his form any good.

    I am thinking of fielding 9 for GW 29, keeping RVP, Walcott, Mata, Rafael, and Zabaleta. Fielding 9 would not require a hit. If I sell one of my benched players, it would effectively cost 8 points (no more WC, so I equate a FT to 4pts) to sell them and bring them right back. For this to make sense, I would need my "sub"/one GW punt, to score at least 8pts even to break even, which I doubt would happen. Opinions?

      It could work well. The people you'll lose out to long term are those with WC, but that was inevitable.

      We all have a few players that score 1 or 2 points each week. If you can get lucky enough to do as well as usual with the rest, it may be ok. Killer DGW team for you, short term loss, long term gain.

          Yup you need to make this transfer. Cisse might be getting on a roll, but is a little risky. Otherwise, you will be playing 4 at the back, Suarez is worth a little .2 or .3 for the two weeks and should score a lot. Do it especially if you think Suarez is a legit captaincy selection. Plus GW29, you will still be only playing 1 at the front.

        Agh you're probably right, I know Pardew said he's going to keep playing him in that role. Everton should surely bag a few goals against Reading whilst Swansea are generally pretty decent defensively at home.

      id play taarabt personally! most villa will score is one while the qpr game is a relegation battle and them games can finish in cricket scores some times and i also fancy qpr to get a result this week

        Taarabt played on the wing last game and only managed 1 shot correct? Southhamption are resilient at home too I thought. Villa are also fighting for their lives and will be playing in front of their own crowd.

            Villa 9 goals in 5 games

            Both players are normally involved in their team's goals. One fixture is easier than the other. Overall, Benteke slight advantage me thinks

              Evra has over performed a bit..in that he's notched a lot more than he's ever done. Baines has th potential to perform on a level with anybody in the game if and when Everton get a few cleanies...instead he's just plodded along...but still racked up a decent haul..

      I think I'll just bench Distin and Mata for GW29 and I'm probably going to sell RVP this week and use my 1FT on getting out Wally (and 2FT with a hit if I need to ship Aguero)
