Next up, we roll out the draw for the Fourth Round of the Paddy Power Cup VII. The weekend’s decimated schedule is sure to play a significant part in how some of these ties unfold, with many managers facing points hits just to field even nine or 10 players.

Site regular Evs remains on course for the silverware and, having moved up to 14th in the overall rankings, faces Rodallega Bombs for a place in the last 32. Former winner Fuzzy Dunlop is still very much in the mix – he squares up to backstreets this time round. Stewpot and Logan Daniels both arrive in good form – with 93 points apiece, they were the joint top-scoring managers from the previous round and now go head-to-head with Vae and dA4s respectively.

    So bloody fed up of the injuries I'm getting. 3 GWs ago I had 4, last week I had six. This week it clears up somewhat and I'm down to four, then Cisse bloody goes and gets ill. Might need to take anger management classes over FPL.

      Would be grateful for your thoughts on H2H tactics.

      If your opponent has one more player than you for the GW, do you take a hit to match his number and hope the player you bring in gets more than 4, or do you play one down and just hope your guys get enough points to counteract his extra guy?

        I guess my not really helpful answer would be, I would take the hit if I thought it would bring in more than 4. I wouldn't let the number of players my opponent had dictate my actions, only what I thought would be best for my team.

        You do whatever gives you the best chance to maximize your own points. If the hit is most likely to increase your net points you do it. You don't play down to your opponent.

        You both make good points. If I thought bringing in a certain player was very likely to get me more points than not bringing him in it would just be stupid not to, regardless of how many he has, and vice versa.

          Yeah he does look like a solid pick. I know if I get Samba i'm going to regret it pretty soon after. I prefer Santon to Debuchy but Liverpool look more solid defensively.

      Does the ameobi being on the bench mean cisse is unlikely to recover in time for stoke? Thats one way i see it as ameobi could struggle playing 2 games in a row quickly, so saved for stoke. i better hope not though as a cisse owner

        Ameobi has been advised not to play on plastic pitches, as it will aggravate an old knee injury.

        If you have a bad knee you seriously wouldn't want to play on hard ground. Its a risk that could lead Pardew to have no Strikers available.

        In my opinion he's just playing safe.

        Another amazing fact, not only has he not been booked all season, he didn't commit a single foul in either of the CDR games against Barca.

        It really is that close, and comes down to personal preference.

        Benteke has better stats, but I think Remy has shown a touch of class and I fancy QPR to kick on from last weekend, whereas Villa have been woeful going forward of late.

      I remember reading somewhere that if City win in the cup, their match vs WBA in GW33 will be postponed?

      This would then mean they'd currently have another blank GW! That's unless the game vs Wigan would be moved to then

        GW33 has a blank midweek following it so it's almost certain that one of the Wigan or WBA game (if required) will go here. Very unlikely they will have 2 blanks and 2 DGWs, GW33 will just be a single GW, albeit with the possibility of a different opponent on a different day.

          If you are contemplating doing A then I would advise Cameron -> Wilson in GW29 since Cameron seems unlikely to play, and then do the other two trfrs in GW30.
