Down to the last 16 in the Scout Members cup, then, and there are plenty of big hitters still in with a shout of the silverware. Seven of the current top 1,000 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game have progressed to this point – two of those players go head-to-head, as Stewpot squares up to Eunuch Jelly, while Avenger, drakesdrum, fodowd, sbg and mcginley50 will be favourites to progress in their respective ties. The latter is the highest ranked player left in the tournament (155th overall), while former winner fuzzy dunlop will be hoping to capture the cup once again:

Its a nice idea but there is almost no way a stand alone website is ever going to get any serious numbers to sign up these days. The big fantasy games in pretty much any sport are always run by national papers with massive readerships or are run by the organisation themselves. They would need to spend an absolute fortune to get 10k players.

How should I crowbar Cazorla and more DGW players in?

    A) Walcott > Cazorla
    B) Michu + Sissoko > Maloney + Cazorla (-4)
    C) RVP, Debuchy + Michu > Rooney, Mertesacker + Cazorla (-8)

    Team is linked.

Its predict a Man Utd side to face Sunderland time.

Having a look at this quote and lets see if there are any clues.

"My role becomes even more important in selecting the right teams, with freshness the operative quality. It's not necessarily putting out your best team, it's picking the freshest.

"This will be a real problem when the players come back at the end of the international break after playing two games involving long flights, particularly with Chicharito in Mexico and Shinji Kagawa with Japan.

"In fact, we're making arrangements for some players to fly home by privately hired jet after their matches, to make sure they get home as quickly and smoothly as possible.

"Tiredness is a great leveller but we will do our utmost to make sure we field the freshest possible teams. Private planes are going to cost the club an awful lot of money, but it is something we feel we have to do.

"The players who have missed the international trips, like Ryan Giggs, Anderson, Nemanja Vidic, Alexander Buttner and Rafael, will be key players in the run-in. Paul Scholes is back in training and will play a part in keeping us fresh."

So looking at that...those that are missing internationals look in the driving seat for a start against Sunderland. Ryan Giggs, Anderson, Nemanja Vidic, Paul Scholes Alexander Buttner and Rafael.

Which is not good news for most of us who own RVP or Rooney. Just can't work it out from his quote, but I'd still be surprised if Hernandez started. I have a sneaky feeling that one of RVP or Rooney will play Sunderland and one will be dropped for Hernandez against Chelsea.

I think Hernandez will play against Chelsea....RVP has played with Hernandez more often than Rooney has...but that may be through circumstance or injury rather than them not being a good pairing.

I'm not going near the RVP or Rooney at Sunderland debate. Too tough to call. I'm sure one will play though just no idea which.

What does look more certain though is that Vidic, Buttner and Rafael look very likely to start v Sunderland...as does giggs...who could be on pens if RVP is saved for Chelsea.

van Persie is definitely playing 180 minutes on international duty. (Hunterlaar is injured so he's nailed on). Rooney 53 minutes so far against San Marino. I think there is a gentlemen's agreement about Rooney minutes so he is fresh for Sunderland.

I'm just wondering how you have come round to expecting RVP to start based on these assumptions...it makes no sense and you know it.

I never even paid attention to what our fans supposedly did at the game...and to be honest I don't really give a toss as it's just sour grapes by Man Utd.

You remember very well SAF's (and Roone's) comments before the game at OT this season because you were commenting on them on here. Revenge, etc. A statement win would require the best strike force.

They're 15 points clear in the league and their B team is better than us...do they really need to make a statement?

And anyway, as you said, if it is Rooney who holds these strong views...then why not let Rooney play the game over RVP?

Your point is based on very little Pep 😉

They won didn't they? The outcome of the title was down to City's result... unless United had beaten Sunderland 15-0 or something.

Besides there's nothing stopping RVP getting 30 mins at the end of they're struggling.

In fairness though, any opposition fans would've cheered having lost at their home grounds to United. If Ferguson is childish to want to avenge that then he's not a very good manager. They have the title, why risk the double because of an unessential 3 points? RVP could break a leg on the weekend and there goes a chance at the FA Cup.

Why...they've already got revenge on Sunderland at Old Trafford. Rooney was the most fired up for that as well...he was full of quotes about them having to pay etc... RVP was with Arsenal so has no personal spur to humiliate Sunderland.

With such a large gap and Chelsea to come it would seem more logical to rest RVP surely?

See above. SAF will want a statement victory, hence he will start his best players. Winning at OT is one thing, trashing them at the very place where the fans 'cheered' them off the pitch is another. I expect he will start his best players.

I think you may be underestimating SAF's ability to manage a team over a congested fixture period and overestimating his sense of emotion when it comes to selecting a team.

He is ruthless and professional and the best the Premier League has seen, he will pick sides that will win both matches not a side that will exact revenge on Sunderland over and above beating Chelsea.

So unless you think RVP will miss that game there is no chance. It is a 2 day difference there wont be any to start both games IMO outside of maybe DDG and Rafa who has had many days to rest.

Fergie has this bunch to choose from

Hernandez - being jetted back from internationals
      RVP - playing internationals
      Rooney - plaing internationals
      Welbeck - playing internationals
      Kagawa - playing internationals.

Two of them will start against Sunderland and two will start against Chelsea.

Considering all have international commitments I can see at least one of his top two forwards being rested for Chelsea and one rested for Sunderland. It all points to one of RVP or Rooney starting against Sunderland. I can't see him starting Hernandez and Welbeck, when both will be as tired in Hernandez's case more tired than Rooney or RVP.

Post for discussion. Lindegaard has played 8 league games this season, and the PL state he needs to have played 10 games to collect a winners medal (assuming United win the league). Which means he needs another 2 games. As a DDG owner with suspended Bunn on my bench, I fear Lindegaard could start against Sunderland 😕 especially with the FA Cup around the corner. If DDG got risked and injured, that could be a major blow for the Cup. Thoughts?

      Bale, Mata, Walcott, Michu, (Guthrie),
      RVP, Suarez, (Fletcher).

1 FT and 0 in the bank. Any ideas? I guess I will have to take Fletcher out for sure and replace one of Bunn/Federici. But who should I get in their place? Please help guys. Thanks. 🙂

That's what I'd do. Fab is a slight risk, but then 'keepers in that price range are few and far between.

          Cesar---bunn
          Zaba---wilson---davies---clyne---harte
          Walcott---bale---michu---mata---sissoko

Mata to Cazorla and upgrade a defender? Or maybe save 1ft for next week.

Because Caz has a good fixture and a definite double. Mata maybe a doubt with rafatation and might not have a double.

To be honest if you've got no money in the bank then you can't upgrade the defense or Michu. If you had 1ft you'd do nothing but 2fts doesn't necessarily help until the cup replay gets sorted.

You could bring in Fab or Jenks but then they might be dropped by dgw...

Harte to Jenks? Maybe worth a gamble as Harte seems to have been dropped now and Jenks likely to play this weekend at least.

you could always do two moves like this...then save your transfer for GW32 so you have 2FT for Gw33 and you could make 4 transfers for an 8 point hit...for example. Not too bad if you needed to do it.

He has even chartered private jets to get his players back from international duty as soon as possible.

"Every coach in the country is praying that their players come back fit; that is the first thing," he added.

"The fact that they have played last Friday and they have played tonight - we have a game at 12.30pm on Saturday away from home at Sunderland - so once I know later this evening how many minutes each player has played, I will start to think about my team for Saturday.

"I have to make sure I have some freshness in the team because we have Saturday lunchtime and then on Monday lunchtime we have Chelsea [in the FA Cup quarter-final replay], so it is a big ask for our squad and something that we really need to concentrate on and make sure we need to pick the right teams."

So, whoever plays the least minutes tonight, starts at the weekend. I can't see Rooney getting subbed off early tonight, so a red card in the first 15 minutes would be splendid.

I think its only Hernandez and Kagawa that are getting the private charters doesn't really effect the high ownership United players although the fact that Hernandez is having that sort of money spent on getting him back a little bit fresher might mean a higher rotation threat for Rooney & RVP.

What is going on with Sagna, don’t know whether to take a punt on Jenkinson or just get someone in for 4.2mil that is nailed on….

Taking a 4 point hit for Rafael, Michu, Punch out > Santi, Maloney, 4.2 def in….

Unless anyone can think of a better alternative, team link….

That's a tough one then. Normally I would say Jenkinson, but since you already have a non player in you defense in Harte, that's risky. Perhaps Clyne. Or Demel or McCartney would be a cheekier punt if you think that one will play both games of West Ham's doubles

was thinking clyne but still not a safe bet. If Jenk plays he could do well.. think I am going to take the risk, it's a game after all...
