Gareth Bale has handed Tottenham and his legion of Fantasy managers a major scare this evening having sustained an ankle injury in their Europa League tie. The Welshman turned his ankle late on in the 2-2 draw with FC Basel which resulted in him being stretchered from the field.

Right now, we have no confirmation on the severity of the injury with Andre Villas-Boas offering this vague prognosis post-match:

“He rolled on his ankle, at the moment there is a lot of pain, but hopefully not as bad as it could have been.”

Early reports also suggest that the Spurs boss confirmed that the injury will be assessed fully in the next 24-hours with sources stating that he expects the player “to miss no more than two matches”.

Bale looks set to sit out the encounter with Everton this weekend and, with a blank fixture looming in Gameweek 33, suddenly his Fantasy owners will be surely be considering selling on a player who, in the last two months, has looked simply unstoppable.

Bale has scored eight goals in his last eight league starts, leading to a huge level of investment in the Fantasy Premier League game which has seen his price rise from 9.8 to 10.9. Now, with the possibility of an absence for the next two Gameweeks and beyond, we could see a dramatic shift in that trend as Bale is sacrificed to make way for assets set to enjoy two fixtures in Gameweek 33.

We now wait on further updates from White Hart Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    I checked team news and it predicts Azpi will be in starting line-up against Sunderland. Do you really think that he will play 4th match in only 9 days?

      I would assume that Ivanovic will play (I have Azpilli) however, im not sure if Terry can play twice in three days, and with Cahill unfit oo, maybe Ivan has to play central with Luiz?

    Which option to pick before I WC next GW?

    A. Bale, Sturridge -> Suarez(C), Coutinhino (-4)
    B. Bale -> Hazard(C)
    C. Bale, Sturridge -> Suarez(C). Sissoko
    D. Sturridge -> Berbatov (Rvp(C))
    E. Save

    Begovic (Bunn)
    Davies Monreal Clyne (Demel Hughes)
    Cazorla Mata Michu Maloney (Bale)
    Rvp Lambert Sturridge

    Want Suarez as a week punt as rivals all have him

      Silva has Man U away coming up. Not a very sexy fixture by any means. Would say Hazard out of those two, he's got the better form too.

      Lampard and Mata started, along with Moses. Hazard, Oscar and Marin all came on.

      Mata looked good and got an assist. Could have easily had a goal and another assist to go with that.

      Surprisingly, the two best players on the pitch for me was Bertrand and Torres. Luis was good too. Didn't see Lamps so much, but Mata was heavily involved as always.

      Get a player in for Bale, but make sure it's a future DGW player. I think that's better than not doing anything further, because as it stands you'll get at least one player with 0. Maybe Hazard, he's got a decent fixture this week too.

    Lost on last page :

    Thanks United Force to your reply 😉

    I have both Bale and Wally. Before Bale’s injury i was planning to do Cuellar > Sagna and benched Wally

    What should i do now :

    A) Stick to my plan an play with 4 defenders and 3 mid (wally and bale benched) :

    —- Zaba (or hill)-Sagna-Davies-R Martin—-
    ——-Sissoko–Taraabt–Santi—–

    In that case i would be able to have 7 dgwers next week with a 8 points hit (Bale + Bego > DDG and Fella)

    B) Bale > Lampard or Hazard and play with 3 defenders and 4 mid :

    —Zaba (or hill)–Davies—R Martin—-
    ——-Sissoko–Taraabt–Santi-Hazard/lampard

    But in that case i would be able to have only 6 dgwers next week….

    C) Do both transfers for a hit : Cuellar + Bale >Sagna and Hazard/lampard (which one of them ?)

    Thanks for advice guys !

    DGW: If you could have 2 from an Arsenal defender, a United defender, and Baines, which would you pick?

    I'm very conscious that my rival has Fabianski and Baines; while on one had I consequently don't want to miss out on their points, I also don't want to miss the chance to catch up.

          Buy ddg 😉 ok then maybe an arsenal and a united, but be wary of rotation- impossible to say who'll play both games

    Who are people trading in for Bale if hes out for a while? I already have Caz & Mata. Don't see any other strong contender and have little or no faith in theo! Fellaini?

      I'm considering Silva myself. City are in form and he's got an upcoming DGW, nailed on.

    What will happen to City/Chelsea's GW37 match depending on which one makes the final?

    City already have the game vs WBA still to be rescheduled.

    If Bale and Mata are both no-shows, my subs will be Pearce (SOU) and Dawson (EVE).

    I think I can live with that until we know how serious the Bale injury is.

    32: bale ➡ hazard
    33: Enrique +sturridge ➡ mertesacker and mirallas/jelavic

    How are we feeling about Sturridge? My only options really are keep or -4 hit for Berbatov. Bib theory says he won't start. Was he really bought to warm the bench?

      Has he been seen training with a different bib again? If not, I'd be tempted to keep as I think he will play against WHM.

    I was going to save my transfers for next week but now going to get rid of Bale. Any help would be appreciated.

    I had planned next week to do: Sisso> Fell Harte>Sag Bego>DDG
    Leaving me with 7 DGW.

    Bego (3.9)

    Reither Demel Johnson Martin Harte

    Sissoko Bale Santi Mata Guthrie

    Rvp Suarez Lambert

    Should i get Bale out for someone like Maloney as a long term investment or keep him because he's valued at 10.3 on my team?

    Those considering bringing in Silva for Bale... the title will surely be over by the time City play their DGW(2) so major rotation on the cards?

      i think he'll play regardless the race for title is over or not. he's a good shout as bale's replacement, but simply not consistent and explosive enough this season for my liking.

    The front 8
    Bale Mata Lamps Siss Santi
    RVP Sturridge Lambchop
    I have 2 FT.

    Bale was my captain and now I don't have an obvious choice. The misfiring RVP probably. The Chelsea boys aren't assured of starts and bringing Hazard (C) seems too much even for a core Che fan like me. That leads me to the following thinking. Bringing Fell one week earlier. Anyway I didn't know who to bench. While I am there I am thinking doing and the same FT. I want Rooney for the double but thinking of bringing Suarez this week and captain him. He has WHM (C) and rdg after. Not bad not bad at all. Also he hasn't scored for a while and is ready to explode. Maybe bringing not a double GW player is a silly move but I don't have a captain.

    Thoughts on: Bale and Sturridge ➡ Fellaini (bench) and Suarez (C)

    P.S. When we are gonna know today's bib theory?
    Thanks a lot. Help a lad here.

      Alright mate, thought along similar lines myself.

      I had studge and mata and really can't trust either so threw in Townsend and Suarez (c). Unfortunately I have Wally and bale too so could b short this week so thinking -8 and throwing haz in...

      I'm guan throw in ddg n fel nix week....so much for forward planning...
