First of all, apologies for the tardiness of this particular article, with all the excitement building up to the double Gameweek, we missed the fact that it failed to post earlier, resigning it to a sleepy Friday night slot. Better late than never, here’s how the Quarter-Finals of the Members Cup played out, together with the draw for the semi-final stages.

The last eight saw some very tight affairs, with “Maddocio” edging through in his clash with “mospace” by just the odd point. Former Members Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” experienced the agony of a two point defeat to “12 inch of fury”, while there was just four points separating the sides in our other pair of ties, as community posters and the top ranked managers remaining, “Acquafresca” and “Eunuch Jelly”, both made progress.

1Maddocio32-29www.msospace.com

Semi-Final Draw

1MaddocioVsAcquafresca
2Eunuch JellyVs12 inch of fury

Eunuch Jelly, ranked 214 in the world, must surely be the favourite for the double Gameweek semi-final, he faces up to the Kiwi “12 inch of fury” in the last four, a player ranked some 16,000 places below him but armed with a Wildcard and 4.3 in the bank. That leaves “Acquafresca” and “Maddocio” to contest for the other coveted place in our final.

These ties will be played out over the fixtures spanning this weekend and midweek, with the final and third-place playoff taking place in Gameweek 34, before the last eight of this cup meet the last eight of our earlier cup tournament in the first Fantasy Football Scout shield.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why does Rate My Team suggest benching a higher scoring player e,g. week 38 de Gea projected 3.24 points, Robles projected 1.51: bench de Gea!?

Robles is expected not to play according to the system so is marked down. It expects that if he starts he will get more points.

So even less reason to bench de Gea? Or are goalkeepers treated differently in that there is only one potential sub for the chosen gk?

They are treated differently in that goalkeepers dont get subbed during a game. Hence if you bench De Gea and Roubles doesnt start autosubs will switch it around for you.

    Current squad..

    Bunn, Mignolet
    Wilson, Saylor, RMartin, Clyne, Harte
    Mata, Cazorla, Michu, Maloney, Walcott
    RVP, Suarez, Remy

If I use my wildcard, I can have this team...
    DDG, Robles
    Sagna, RMartin, Baines, Collins, Clyne
    Fellaini, Maloney, Cazorla, Walcott, ONeill
    RVP, Suarez, Berbatov

Is it a good idea to use the WC and fill my team with DGW players (as above) or is that a waste?

I think the cut off is maybe if you can field 6 DGW players without hits then hold onto the WC. You are way short of that so in your case I would definitely play it.

Currently on wc and I am thinking of losing Mata > YaYa, Gervinho > Maloney and Wilson > Zaba. Gives me good cash to get Bale back in for the next double too. Takes me down to 8 doubles though, and then easily 6 for gw36, sensible?

    GW 33 team:

    DDG

    BAINES SAGNA DEMEL Zabaleta

    CAZ Yaya FELLIANI (c)

    RVP (vc) BERBA Suarez

    Roubles Maloney Michu Mariappa

If you're wildcarding I think you should be looking at a lot more than 14 DGW players over the two weeks (without hits). Otherwise you're not really making the most of it. 9 DGW this week with 6 GW36 DGWers means you can field 18 DGW players over the 2 weeks. Eg Mariappa, waste of space.

certain I have FELLA, SANTI & (michu) two spots can;t really decide....

spills over into defence as well with Sagna VS Evra/Rafael

    Walcott or Gervinho please boys?

As far as I know, the latter is guaranteed a start whereas Walcott is doubtful…any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

Worth bringing in anymore DGWers for hits?

    DDG*
    Sagna*/Demel*/Zabaleta
    Cazorla*/Fellaini*/Coutinho/Sissoko
    RVP*/Sturridge/Benteke

so how many transfers/hits have people used this week?
I've spent 8 points (risky) to get 8 DGW players

12 to get 9, but i've nothing to lose in my mini league you get nothing for 4th to last so may as well go for third

Same for me. I don't understand any of the arguments people make for limiting hits. If they each make sense on an expected points basis then they are good to go.
