United complete the job thanks to a devastating hat-trick from Robin Van Persie as Villa are dismissed in front of jubilant Old Trafford faithful. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s action…

On the Up

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman chose the perfect occasion to emphatically underline his value, both to United and to his Fantasy owners, with a superbly taken hat-trick. On the day that saw Luis Suarez likely banned for the remainder of the season, Van Persie’s pursuit of the Golden Boot now looks complete having moved to 24 for the season with tonight’s goals. With so many Fantasy managers handing Van Persie the armband, tonight’s events will have opened up a chasm between the “have” and “have-nots”, impacting on many a mini-league scenario with just four Gameweeks remaining. The concern now is whether Van Persie will earn a rest or continue to find profit over the remaining matches.

Phil Jones
The former Blackburn man was, once again, outstanding. Jones has now started the last four league outings and looks firmly in favour, whether that be at centre-back, or alongside Michael Carrick in central midfield. With four games remaining and a 5.6 price tag, Jones would normally find plenty of interest, were it not for double Gameweek distractions.

Shinji Kagawa
Another player who has come into bloom in recent weeks. Tonight was Kagawa’s third consecutive start, his fourth in the last five. The Japanese international looks set to go on enjoying the tail end of the season with Fantasy managers no doubt making note of his impact with next term in mind.

Going Down

Wayne Rooney
It’s rather remiss to knock Rooney on a night of celebration but there’s little doubt that those holding the striker as an alternative to Van Persie paid the ultimate price this evening. While Rooney kept pace with the Dutchman for periods of the season and even looked a stronger option at times, the run-in has seen Van Persie put the debate to bed with five goals in three matches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who would you rather have for the double?

    Michu

    Yaya

    Nasri

    Dempsey

    I have Bale and Tevez.

Game-time is an issue for all those players, so I imagine it will come down to that.

      tl;dr: Dempsey.

Swansea will surely put out their best team against City at home, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a weakened team with perhaps a few star players rested 3 days later at Wigan.

Yaya and Nasri *could* play a part in both games in the DGW, but who knows? On form Nasri looks like a good pick but if Yaya plays in a more advanced role you'd want him. Hard to say really.

I'm not too sure about Dempsey to be honest but if he starts and does well against Wigan at the weekend, you'd back him to get at least 120 minutes in the DGW, perhaps in his favoured role behind a lone striker. He's also the kind of the DGW!

Using my WC next week (in DGW 36), so therefore THIS DECISION IS FOR THIS WEEK ONLY!

    DDG (ars)
Mariappa (QPR) Turner (stk – doubtful) Distin (FUL)
Michu (che) Fellaini (FUL) Cazorla (MUN) Mata (SWA)
RVP (ars) Benteke (SUN) Lambert (WBA)

Subs: Federici (QPR) Walcott (MUN) Sagna (MUN) Demel (mci)

I’m definitely bringing in Bale this week, but I need £0.7m more in order to fund it (but I have 2 free transfers so it’s not a problem!). The question is who?!

    A) Bale and Wilson/Hooiveld for Cazorla and Sagna
    B) Bale and Guzan/Boruc for Cazorla and de Gea
    C) Bale and Yaya Toure for Cazorla and Walcott
    Or any other suggestions!

I would REALLY appreciate your wise opinions chaps!
    Cheers 😀

Hello all. I don't normally do these but here goes...

The damage from the last two weeks:

    - Dropped from 6k to 9.4k overall.
-Was 20 points clear in ML now 36 behind.

    My team:

    DDG,
    Baines, Zaba, Shaw
    Michu, Walcott, Fellaini, Yaya
    RVP, Suarez, Bentekkers

    Bunn, Davies, Demel, Guthrie.

    1FT 0.3B

I took a hit to get Michu and RVP this week just gone, does this week require a (-4) too?

Cheers for any help fellas. 😉

Hart is the best bet for 2 games but I don't think it's as sure as everyone is making out, even if he doesn't play in the FA Cup final.

Kolarov would be the best from those three as even if he does only play 90-120 minutes like the rest are expected to, he will have good attacking prospects

Question for you all regarding Head 2 Head leagues....

If you have it setup for a knockout style finish, is it top 4 or top 8 that go into the knockout format? Want to plan my transfers to try and win my cash head to head but don't know whether the knockout part starts in GW36 (Top 8) or GW37 (Top 4)?

    Any help appreciated!

It depends on the settings you chose when creating the league.

But look at your fixtures. If you don`t have a fixture for gw 36 then it`s top 8

Ahh thanks, no fixture after GW35 so I guess that means top 8.

Going by this, would you say it's worth it to take my DGW hits this week so I have a fresh start for the first knockout round?

I think Zaba will play against west ham and one of the doubles. Maybe keep this week and switch to Azpil/Luiz/Vert for the double.

just to clarify, its kolarov or clichy for the LB spot, no? likely for clichy to play both if either played both? Who would challenge nasty's spot, lescott? if im looking for one with the best chance of starting this weekend and both games of the double, out of the three its nasty?

3 years? That`s a very short contract for a 20-year old, unless Bayern have a option to extend it.
