Our congratulations go to Acquafresca this afternoon after he clinched the FFS Members Cup with a 72-52 win over Eunuch Jelly last weekend. The margin of victory was mainly down to the winner’s decision to captain a certain Dutchman, as Robin Van Persie racked up a 34 point armband return in United’s home win over Villa on Monday evening:

Acquafresca also had Luis Suarez to thanks after the Liverpool man registered an 11 point return in Sunday’s home clash with Chelsea, while Theo Walcott and Norwich skipper Russell Martin combined for 12 points to help seal the silverware. Acquafresca also receives £100 worth of free bets and a £100 Amazon voucher for his troubles.

Eunuch Jelly opted for Michu as captain in Swansea’s home game with Southampton but the Spaniard’s blank proved costly. Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Eden Hazard, David De Gea and Guy Demel all chipped in with points but weren’t enough to overturn the Van Persie haul – nevertheless, our runner-up can console himself with £50 worth of free bets and a £50 Amazon voucher.

The battle for third spot came down to overall rank after Maddocio and 12 inch of fury both registered 53 points apiece in Gameweek 34. The latter’s superior placing in the standings earned him victory, with captain Suarez producing the points along with Walcott, Patrice Evra and Ben Davies – he picks up £50 worth of free bets and a £25 Amazon voucher.

Maddocio’s tally was helped by Chelsea midfield duo Eden Hazard and Juan Mata, while Walcott, Rooney, Demel and De Gea all played their parts. Ultimately, his decision to captain Michu also proved his downfall after the goalless draw at the Liberty with Southampton.

All of our quartet will be in the draw for the first ever Fantasy Football Scout Shield, which takes place over the final four Gameweeks. This will see the last eight of the FFS Members cup face the last eight participants of the Fantasy Football Scout cup in a similar knockout format, with the final occurring on the last day of the season. We’ll be publishing the draw for that one later on this evening.

Villas-Boas now has to decide whether to resotre Defoe to the starting line-up ahead of Emmanuel Adebayor for Saturday's trip to Wigan as Tottenham look to maintain their bid for a Champions League place.

"Yes, it's a big decision (to choose between Defoe and Adebayor), but we are extremely happy," Villas-Boas said. "It's very important for us to have Jermain back, particularly because he found the back of the net.

"Goalkeepers have been making impossible saves against him and he finally got the ball in the net the other day with a tremendous goal that helped us get the three points.

"It's good because he had a blip in terms of goals, not performances - he was always sharp - but he had a couple of injuries. Now he is back he gives us that quality and confidence by scoring."

    I reckon that's a waste. I'm also WCing and am looking to pick a side I'm happy with for 35 and 36 so I can react to any injuries or whatever in 37. If you pick Ba from the off then stick with him I think. Not a bad option either imo.

Man, this wildcard is completely twisting my brain.

It looked so appetising a few weeks ago, but now, with the title race over, and City in the FA Cup final, it has become a nightmare.

Any option I come up with is fraught with danger and rotation risk, it could go so very well, or so very badly.

I wish I had played it already now.

  City have awesome fixtures for the rest of the season so even if someone is rotated out due to the FA cup, their other fixtures will make them worthwhile inclusions anyway. I'm definitely going with 3 City boys.
