No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

My biggest dilemma:

A) Coutinho + Lukaku

B) Lampard + Sturridge

I'm keen on Sturridge instead of Coutinho as the comparison tool indicates a marked improvement in sturridge's attacking threat in the last four games when suarez was not present and was also involved in 60% of liverpool's goals.

Morning, chaps! Can I get some thoughts on my team:

Mannone | (Boruc)
Ivanovic | MTurner | Collins | (Brayford | Chester)
Hazard | Walcott | Coutinho | Mirallas | (Morrison)
RVP | Lukaku | Anelka.

Just one final question. How can I squeeze in some Liverpool defensive cover in this team?:

A) Mannone -> Davis, Collins -> Toure
B) Ivan -> Terry, Collins -> Toure
C) Collins -> 4.0, Boruc -> Davis, Mannone -> Mignolet.

Or should I just ignore Liverpool cover and stick with this team? Thanks guys. 🙂

  strong team. Just concerned by anelka/morrison/lukaku in terms of rotation risk. Feels like your team is maxed out and optimised but you are taking risks.

  Really don't see the value in Anelka, the lad is 34 coming from... China? The games he starts he'll never finish. Shane Long will be an ever present and they just signed Vydra who looked quality for Watford last season and had several EPL clubs chasing him. Nevermind goals in poxy friendlies he'll be a bit-part player and frustrating in terms of fpl.

  I prefer the first one, although I think Oscar could get more minutes. I just think it won't be significantly more and if Lukaku gets 100 minutes or so I can't imagine him not scoring. Oscar could get plenty of time and blank.

  I don't like it one bit.
  I don't like Navas, I don't like having Walker and Dawson, I don't like Maiga, I don't like the lack of Hazard and I don't like Cole(c), especially in combination with Cech. Tekkers scoring will have you crying like a little girl.

I think rvp is a must. Guaranteed goals and easier to trade him out than get him in. Price will only rise unless injured

Lescott not 100% he'll start. Did have mertersaker but can't see arsenal keeping clean sheets early on

VfL Wolfsburg confirm the signing of Luiz Gustavo from Bayern Munich on a five-year contract.

Both clubs refused to disclose the transfer fee, but it's believed to be in the region of the €20 million figure that Arsenal weren't prepared to pay for the player.

Suddenly very tempted to go with SIlva over Coutinho - having someone in the Monday night fixture is so much more appealing than having someone in the early Saturday kick off, and I think City will run riot in a few of their opening games. What do people think?

    If only I knew! He could well "assist the assister", but he has the potential to do a lot of damage, especially now Pellegrini's in charge. I think City's attacking players will really click again this season, it's just fitting one in/deciding who'll get minutes and points that's the problem.
