This season’s Big Numbers articles for members will follow on from the weekend’s action as always, with new contributor, “In Tommy We Trust”, taking up the editorial reins. Tommy takes we take a look at the data gathered from the weekend’s action in the members’ area as both Merseyside clubs register impressive attacking statistics, while casting an analytical eye over a handful of forwards from Saturday and Sunday’s matches.

I had Dzeko in my team for aaaaages and bottled it. This could go pear shaped quickly haha.
Open Controls-
Same here. I had Dzeko and Benteke. Went for Altidore and Soldado.
Open Controls-
Ouch. One of those things though ey. Last year I gambled on too many players and ended up wildcarding GW3 and this year I'm on 64 points with a few more to come, so I shouldn't complain.

Cue Dzeko subbed at 59 minutes after failing to contribute to Citeh's 5 goals .......
(I have Dzeko)Open Controls -
why did people get negredo? very bad decision. worst decision ever actually
Open Controls-

Haha I know, I bet he wouldn't have dared say that 20 mins ago.

City bench?
Open Controls -
Dzeko playing = one less problem for my (and many others') teams. 🙂
Open Controls-
Unless he plays like a donkey and gets subbed for a goalscorer 😉
Open Controls -

He has to put Dzeko in the shop window , either that or keep him happy till the window has closed
Open Controls-
The window closes after GW3, that's all I need 😎
Open Controls

Doesn't really clear up the Taylor or Mbiwa conundrum
Open Controls-
yep santon out 😐

Dzeko, yes, yes, yes

If you're anything like me and looking for a Lukaku replacement what options are you looking at? I've narrowed it down to three options. (A) Welbeck (B) Lambert (C) Carroll. My head says Lambert but with the news of their new signing I see him being rotated (he's no spring chicken!). My heart is saying Welbeck- who is at present a tempting punt as a non RVP owner. I know that rotation will be a factor with him but he has the potential for a big year at a bargain price. Carroll is halfway between my head and my heart. The whole team is set up for him and he's absolutely nailed on when he gets back. Downing and Jarvis are potentially a conveyor belt of points for him to poach from. Wolfswinkel won't score enough with Norwich imo. Hmm decisions... Thoughts?
Open Controls-
Lambert.
Welbeck will be like a roundabout.
Carroll if you want big risk.
Osvaldo will need a few weeks to get a first team spot
Especially ahead of Lambert.
No team would bring someone in and rush their best scorer last season out the window.
Lambert is Southamptons van persie. Don't panicOpen Controls -
Lambert the only one of those. Personally would try to upgrade to the power trio

Bony?

The crazy thing is, despite the fact that everyone now goes on Twitter in an attempt to post the lineups first, Demi is still always the first.... 🙂

Great news. It means no price rise for Negredo enabling
GW2: Ivan>Coleman
GW3: Lukaku>Negredo
Negredo to destroy Hull!Open Controls -
Sorry I didn't quite catch that, is Dzeko starting?
Open Controls-
nah....only thought he was

Where has the captain's poll gone?
Open Controls-
dumped, slowed down the site
Open Controls -
Caused too many issues so removed for this week.
Open Controls -
Just sorting out the servers to keep the main bits running smoothly. Hopefully it will be back v soon.
It still won't stop hundreds asking who to pick for captain though. 🙂Open Controls-
Thanks 😉

Massive relief to see Navas in the starting line-up.

Everyone says I had so and so in my team then took them out.
Let's be honest. You probably had 50% of the players in your team at some point and took them out. I certainly did.
Rvp and Bale originally featured. Now I have neither!Open Controls-
This ^
I had pretty every striker that scored this weekend at some point but ended up going with Lukaku. At least I stuck with Soldado thiughOpen Controls -
Yes, I rotate through every legitimate prospect in the preseason so that I can experience sufficient regret when I stink it up in GW1. Seems to be a pattern.
Open Controls -
I never had bale and never took him out 🙂 As for the others I'd say most of the ones who had more than a 50% chance of playing regularly.

NUFC Subs: Elliot, Dummett, Anita, Marveaux, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi
Open Controls-
ah Marveaux, they actually found you this GW1.
That's ok, I didn't need to get me 18 points of my bench this year
I just needed 18 points 😆Open Controls

In hindsight, getting in a City striker was an incredibly risky thing to do, especially when:
1. I have 4 players with a blank in week 3
2. Aguero was in contention for a spot (although this was unbeknownst to me)
So lucky that Dzeko starts. I am expecting future rotation however, especially if he has a poor game today.Open Controls -
Ill probably do Ivan to Mbiwa on my quest to find 6m for RVP

Cheers to the guy with the Parker to QPR tip on here earlier.

What will Benteke's price be for GW2? How much, if any, will it drop going into GW3?
ThanksOpen Controls -
