Were you off to flyer or were you let down by missed penalties, needless bookings and late consolation goals? Or even Romelu Lukaku? Yeah, the less said the better.

Either way, like Lukaku, the season is still young, and there’s plenty of Gameweeks to turn things around. To help you out, this term we’ll be providing you with a regular view of Paddy Power’s odds to add some further data to your decision-making. Here’s the current clean sheet and anytime goalscorer odds for the Gameweek ahead.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 2

Monday night’s clash is a headline-maker in waiting and Paddy Power has Robin van Persie at evens to get his name on the scoresheet at anytime and add to his brace of superb strikes at the Liberty.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five visits to Old Trafford and Van Persie has six goals in 18 appearances versus the Blues. Paddy is putting his neck on the line though by giving punters their money back if RVP finds the back of the net against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester City are well backed to find goals at newly promoted Cardiff and striker Sergio Aguero is the most fancied to score anytime over Gameweek two at odds of 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham’s new £26 million striker, Roberto Soldado, is up there with the Dutchman. He opened his account from the penalty spot last week and bagged himself three bonus points in the process in addition to a pair of Europa League strikes earlier today. At 4/7, Spurs are red-hot favourites to beat Swansea and Soldado is also 5/6 to find the net at anytime in Sunday’s clash.

Despite his penalty miss against Liverpool at Anfield, Stoke’s Jon Walters is surprisingly the top ranked midfielder in our odds listing. Paddy Power has him at 7/5 to score anytime when Ian Holloway’s Palace side head up to the Britannia on Saturday.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is ranked next at 6/4 and Theo Walcott is also well backed to take advantage of the Fulham defence at Craven Cottage in the opening match of the weekend.

Despite being without crocked skipper Vincent Kompany, City top the clean sheet odds list, and are well fancied by Paddy to escape from Cardiff with a second shut-out of the season. They are 11/10 to keep the newly promoted Bluebirds at bay.

It’s worth noting that Southampton make the top five in our list. The Saints conceded just nine goals in their last ten games at the end of last term, and face a Sunderland team who managed just three shots on target from 21 efforts against Fulham. That’s just a 14% accuracy rate and one of the key reasons why Paddy Power is offering 13/10 on no Sunderland goalscorer this week. A perfect excuse to jump on the Luke Shaw bandwagon.

The Stoke defence is also well fancied to come good – neglected in Gameweek one due to the trip to Anfield. Paddy are offering 5/4 for Mark Hughes’ men to keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace who struggled to make an impact against Spurs last time out.

Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross, as always, offer a tempting goal threat with odds of 6/1 and 8/1 respectively for an anytime goal.

              He'll be a mainstay.

              If I was to pick three perma-forwards for the season:

              1. Studge.
              2. Benteks.
              3. Solidado.

              I'm pretty sure they'd come close to any front three with RVP in it.

    Betting, betting, betting, betting. Everywhere you look betting.

    Does my nut in, seriously. Odds this, odds that, in play this, in play that, next corner, next throw in taker. 😳

    I feel sorry for the next generation....I feel sorry for this one, because people cant see it and they are getting taken advantage of, but anyway. Children of the next generation will be born into gambling addictions.

    "Mommy mommy can I put my monopoly money on Lukaku next goalscorer?"

    "Lukaku next goalscorer, is that a tip son?"

    "Come on son, lets go and lump that same bet on Woohoo! Av a look at that, get on it!"

    😳

        I was a bit luckier. The only bet I've ever had was on the 1976 Derby. I backed Empery (which won) and Oats (which was third) - both on recommendations. 10p each way on both horses. I won £1.80. Last of the big winners. I thought - that's it, I'm ahead, so no more bets!

      Monopoly now has editions where you can buy property with credit and you can no longer go to jail. Emulates investment banking better that way, I guess.

      Its the adverts aswell though. I remember someone telling me that Elvis used to shoot his television if he didnt like a program....

      I'd have to go through about 15 TV's an ad-break.

      The people that endorse it and sell it, they want to ask themselves what they're doing as humans?

      They're making it really bad. People are desperate and they take advantage and sell it like its all "just a game"....

      Sick world.

      Doesn't mean he'll start. Lukaku was odds on for first goalscorer against hull AND villa, and started both on the bench. (skybet)

    Is it worth taking a -4pt hit to take out Terry and bring in Zabeleta??? (I’ve already taken Lukaku out for Lambert)
    I want to get rid of all my chelsea players before GW3 because of no match and hard schedule as well as my poor bench.

    Which route is better here peeps? With keeping Zaba and Toure long term, I'm thinking rotating Chester, Ward and another 4.0m defender could be the way to go, i.e. A) below.....

    A)
    GW2: Hazard & Lukaku -> Rosicky & Aguero(c) [4 points]
    GW3: Terry -> a 3.9/maybe a 4.0m (if price movements go my way) filler defender
    GW4: Aguero -> RVP(c)

    B)
    GW2: Hazard & Lukaku -> Barkley & Aguero(c) [4 points]
    GW3: Terry -> a 4.8m or below defender
    GW4: Aguero -> RVP(c)

    Boruc, Davis
    Zaba, Terry, Toure, Chester, Ward
    Hazard, Walcott, Silva, Mirallas, Morrison
    Soldado, Sturridge, Lukaku

    I know the posts will be coming thick and fast as there is a game or two on but the Tottenham "friendly" was so useful for Soldado and the squad. We got a real idea of how they want to play against weaker opposition. The No9 looks really potent and a genuine threat, and I can see him getting lots of those sorts of goals.
    It would be all to naive of me to say Townsend stood a chance of getting some PL time but wow he was good.
    The performance will surely ono see an increase in the Spurs investment.

      Never taken anything more than a 4 point hit. It tends to be poor planning /compulsive kneejerkery at the root of it I find. Very rarely pays off, anyways.

    A) Ivanovic to Zabaleta
    OR
    B) Lukaku to Lambert/RVW
    OR
    C) Both for a hit

    Leaning towards giving Lukaku another chance at OT but surely he'll drop again by that time!

    Can anyone with with a savvy for taking big hits give me a hand? Things are already looking bad 🙂

    Still got Terry, Hazard and Lukaku on my hands, and now Anelkas' out 🙁

    Which ones should I get rid of? A poor GW1 score leaves me a little uncomfortable about taking big hits...

      Well, one thing I would say, is that you have been indecisive, and left it late.

      Hazard to ?

      Anelka to Soldado/Sturridge?

      Prioritise.

      Lukaku is a sub so he has to go. Persoanlly I think L'chop is as good as pick as any right now with STH fixtures.
