Were you off to flyer or were you let down by missed penalties, needless bookings and late consolation goals? Or even Romelu Lukaku? Yeah, the less said the better.

Either way, like Lukaku, the season is still young, and there’s plenty of Gameweeks to turn things around. To help you out, this term we’ll be providing you with a regular view of Paddy Power’s odds to add some further data to your decision-making. Here’s the current clean sheet and anytime goalscorer odds for the Gameweek ahead.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 2

Monday night’s clash is a headline-maker in waiting and Paddy Power has Robin van Persie at evens to get his name on the scoresheet at anytime and add to his brace of superb strikes at the Liberty.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five visits to Old Trafford and Van Persie has six goals in 18 appearances versus the Blues. Paddy is putting his neck on the line though by giving punters their money back if RVP finds the back of the net against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester City are well backed to find goals at newly promoted Cardiff and striker Sergio Aguero is the most fancied to score anytime over Gameweek two at odds of 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham’s new £26 million striker, Roberto Soldado, is up there with the Dutchman. He opened his account from the penalty spot last week and bagged himself three bonus points in the process in addition to a pair of Europa League strikes earlier today. At 4/7, Spurs are red-hot favourites to beat Swansea and Soldado is also 5/6 to find the net at anytime in Sunday’s clash.

Despite his penalty miss against Liverpool at Anfield, Stoke’s Jon Walters is surprisingly the top ranked midfielder in our odds listing. Paddy Power has him at 7/5 to score anytime when Ian Holloway’s Palace side head up to the Britannia on Saturday.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is ranked next at 6/4 and Theo Walcott is also well backed to take advantage of the Fulham defence at Craven Cottage in the opening match of the weekend.

Despite being without crocked skipper Vincent Kompany, City top the clean sheet odds list, and are well fancied by Paddy to escape from Cardiff with a second shut-out of the season. They are 11/10 to keep the newly promoted Bluebirds at bay.

It’s worth noting that Southampton make the top five in our list. The Saints conceded just nine goals in their last ten games at the end of last term, and face a Sunderland team who managed just three shots on target from 21 efforts against Fulham. That’s just a 14% accuracy rate and one of the key reasons why Paddy Power is offering 13/10 on no Sunderland goalscorer this week. A perfect excuse to jump on the Luke Shaw bandwagon.

The Stoke defence is also well fancied to come good – neglected in Gameweek one due to the trip to Anfield. Paddy are offering 5/4 for Mark Hughes’ men to keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace who struggled to make an impact against Spurs last time out.

Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross, as always, offer a tempting goal threat with odds of 6/1 and 8/1 respectively for an anytime goal.

I'm keeping faith in Mertesacker for now, as I think he will continue to do well under the new BPS system. He was in fact 4th highest BPS scorer in the Villa game despite Arsenal conceding three! Look set to get among the BPs if Arsenal keep CSs. Gets forward a lot on set pieces as well.

Soldado if you want a solid permanent change. Dzeko if you want points these next two weeks and then switch to Tekkers. Overall, Benteke is the best choice.

Swansea were the sixth worst side last season in terms of shots conceded in the box. Soldado is a lethal shots in the box man . That equals goal pie.

Sturridge is great too and also has good fixtures. I like soldado fpl wise... He's a good striker pure and simple . No frills just bangs em in.

With decisions to be made this GW on who is the best option to captain, and Man U with a tough game against Chelsea, I did some research on RVP's performance last season against the Top 5 teams last season and also Liverpool (No disrespect to Everton, I see Liverpool as a derby and therefore a more difficult game).

Overall performance over the 10 games:

    7 Goals and 2 Assists

Looking at those stats and considering they were gained against the toughest opposition (Based on last seasons league table) you would think that it would be the safest option to make him captain, especially as 2 of these games were played after they had already won the title.

However, on further analysis, by splitting the games into Home and Away, the captain decision may not be as safe as you thought.

    Home performance over 5 games:

    2 Goals and 1 Assist

    Away Performance over 5 games:

    5 Goals and 1 Assist

RVP, based on these stats, looks a lot stronger away from home, and those of you who remember will recollect that in his last season for Arsenal he scored a Hat-Trick away to Chelsea. But, with his previous performance outstanding against Swansea, many will be unable to overlook him.

In my opinion, though, I think Benteke is a better option as captain as he has already proven that he can score against the best of teams in the league, where as RVP wasn't fully tested against Swansea. Benteke also made a habit of destroying Liverpool last season, with 3 goals and 1 assist in 2 games. Liverpool's defence has also not been fully tested and may be in for a surprise when Benteke will destroy Liverpool.

we all know yaya is nailed on starter and a well points earner, but is he worth bringing in instead of Silva/Navas? ive had him in my teams since he started the prem...... and really tempted to bring him in this term,

highest passing rate in GW1 only made 2 mistakes, scored a goal, and is dangerous when he starts his runs.

Really dont understand why he is being overlooked by FF managers this season?
