The Gameweek continues with five three o’clock kick-offs, culminating with Liverpool’s trip to Aston Villa at tea-time.

The team news from Goodison finds Roberto Martinez turning to Ross Barkley in midfield once again, as he fields an unchanged lineup for the visit of West Brom. The Baggies make just one forced alteration: with Nicolas Anelka on compassionate leave, Steve Clarke brings in Marcus Rosenberg to partner Shane Long in attack.

Newcastle’s lineup to face West Ham is much changed. Alan Pardew is again without Yohan Cabaye, while Steven Taylor serves the first match of a three-game ban. Davide Santon returns at left-back, however, allowing Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa to shift to the centre. With Jonas Guttierez and Cheick Tiote missing, Pardew turns to Vernon Anita in midfield, while Sylvain Marveaux also starts. Yoan Gouffran makes way for Shola Ameobi up front. The Hammers make just one change with Stewart Downing given his full debut; Joe Cole is the man to drop to the bench.

At the KC Stadium, Steve Bruce hands both Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore their first starts for Hull, with David Meyler and Danny Graham dropping to the bench. Opponents Norwich make two changes: Alex Tettey and Leroy Fer come into the midfield with Elliot Bennett injured and Wes Hoolahan dropping out. Steven Whitakker retains his start in defence, then, with no sign of Seb Bassong, while Robert Snodgrass only makes the bench.

Down at St Mary’s, Mauricio Pochettino fields an unchanged lineup from the one that earned a late three points at the Hawthorns. Calum Chambers keeps his start at right-back with Nathaniel Clyne kept benched alongside new signing, Pablo Osvaldo. Paolo Di Canio makes changes in opposition, recalling Craig Gardner after suspension and starting with Modibo Diakite at the back as Valentin Roberge and Cabral drop out.

Finally, at the Britannia, Mark Hughes makes just a single change to his Potters lineup, with Charlie Adam drafted in, as expected; Glenn Whelan drops to the bench. Ian Holloway also makes changes, giving full debuts to new signings Marouane Chamakh, Jose Campana and Jason Puncheon – Owen Garvan, Aaron Wilbraham and Stephen Dobbie are all benched.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains open throughout these matches and into this evening’s clash at Villa Park.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Wait. How much does Sturridge cost? (can't get on the site atm).

I'd have done Lukaku to him in an instant if i thought i could afford him. Really didn't fancy Dzeko but got him anyway.

"He has found the net 17 times in the league in 2013, three more times than any other Premier League player. Even more impressively, in Europe's top five league's, only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more than Benteke since the turn of the year." - BBC

It's been interesting reading through the posts today and seeing many people asking which transfer should they make A, B etc

And a lot of the replies seem to come back with the answer either A or B etc then followed by the caveat...

I would probably hold of on so n so until they hit form and would go for someone else until so n so hit form!

If you think the player is about to hit form this is the time to get them NOT when they are in form as you may pay extra for them and then you will potentially miss the extra points that willl of encouraged everyone else to of bought said player.

This is the point of the game is it not

Judging by the comments, you could be forgiven for thinking Coutinho had scored that goal. All he did was hear Sturridge shouting leave it, and left it.

Real quality from Sturridge the way he took that goal. Chelsea got rid of him because Di Matteo didn't rate him. AVB played him quite a bit.

They brought him out on the pitch before the game and he got an amazing reception. He started the minute of applause for one of his heroes Dave Hickson who passed away recently. He was in the centre circle waving his scarf while both teams were lined up on either side while Goodison sang and clapped. It was a nice touch.

      Bonus Points

A new Bonus Points System (BPS) has been created which utilises a range of statistics to create a BPS score for every player. The three best performing players in each match will be awarded bonus points. 3 points will be awarded to the highest scoring player, 2 to the second best and 1 to the third.

Examples of how bonus point ties will be resolved are as follows:

If there is a tie for first place, Players 1 & 2 will receive 3 points each and Player 3 will receive 1 point.
If there is a tie for second place, Player 1 will receive 3 points and Players 2 and 3 will receive 2 points each.
If there is a tie for third place, Player 1 will receive 3 points, Player 2 will receive 2 points and Players 3 & 4 will receive 1 point each.

How is the BPS score calculated?

Players score BPS points based on the following statistics (one point for each unless otherwise stated):

      Playing in a game
      Playing over 60 minutes
      Scoring goals
      Goalkeepers and defenders (4 points)
      Midfielders (6 points)
      Fowards (8 points)
      Assists (3 points)
Goalkeepers and defenders keeping a clean sheet (4 points)
      Saving a penalty (5 points)
      For every 3 saves
For every 3 open play crosses
Creating a big chance (a chance where the receiving player should score)
For every 8 clearances, blocks and interceptions (total)
      For every 8 recoveries
      Providing 3 key passes
      Making 3 successful tackles (net*)
Scoring the goal that wins a match
Pass Completion (after making at least 30 passes)
      70% completion (1 point)
      80% completion (2 points)
      90% completion (3 points)

*Net successful tackles is the total of all successful tackles minus any unsuccessful tackles. Players will not be awarded negative BPS points for this statistic.

Players lose BPS points based on the following statistics (one point for each unless otherwise stated):

      Conceding a penalty
      Missing a penalty (-2 points)
      Yellow cards
      Red cards (-3 points)
      Own goals (-2 points)
      Missing a big chance
Making an error which leads to a goal
Every 2 errors leading to an attempt at goal
      Being tackled 3 times
      Conceding 2 fouls
      Being caught offside 3 times
Missing the target with 3 shots

Data is supplied by Opta and once it has been marked as final will not be changed. We will not enter into discussion around any of the statistics used to calculate this score for any individual match.

Picking the wrong one for Foster and Boruc rotation is getting annoying!
Anyone know if Bent will start for Fulham at Newcastle or too soon to say, Lukaku replacement??

Out of all the 3pm kick-offs, Stoke-Palace had the most goals, ahh weren't expecting that now, were you?

yeah I saw 🙂 I want Sturridge to do well since I have him, but not since you have him (C), need something special from Roberto to get the win I think, good luck 😀

TM, considering your role on here, could you let it be known that fiso ctc is undergoing a few changes in the background at the moment, and we hope to have it more reliable over the coming days?

it's only to be used as a rough guide at the mo til we nail down a few data bits and bobs. cheers 🙂

It's early in the season and FPL has changed so they're both trying to figure out what is right, Neither are certain so take them as advice not fact.
