The only thing more shocking than Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance this week was that Fraizer Campbell scored a brace against City and notched up a huge points haul. That result raised more eyebrows than Miley ever could. Luckily for managers with City men littered throughout their squads, it really should be business as usual this week.

According to Paddy Power’s odds, five of the six most likely players to score over the Gameweek wear City’s sky blue. Great news if you can get a couple of them in your squad, but bleak reading if you’re without City cover, or, indeed a Hull City Tigers fan.

Sergio Aguero is the hot favourite at 1/2 with Paddy to find the net at anytime. He’s likely to be partnered by Edin Dzeko, who is 5/6 to notch: the duo have already opened their Premier League accounts and appear to be Manuel Pellegrini’s favored strike partnership, with Alvaro Negredo is kept on the leash, at least for now.

Robin van Persie disappointed many after drawing a blank against Chelsea but that will quickly be forgiven if he scores against Liverpool on Sunday: an anytime goal is evens with Paddy. It’s also worth noting that Paddy are refunding losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles) if the Anfield clash ends all-square.

Either side of Van Persie in the betting we find further City players. David Silva has a goal and an assist to his name already this season and is 6/5 to find the net at anytime against Hull – the top ranked midfielder on show in the Gameweek. The aforementioned Negredo has played just 31 minutes of Premier League football but opened his account at Cardiff and is odds-on at 5/6 with Paddy Power to register again on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud has notched two goals in consecutive league outings this season and makes the list of top 10 most likely players to score. All 13 of his Premier League goals have come in London and, if you follow that bizarre trend, Giroud at 6/4 with Paddy to score at anytime against Spurs looks decent. If that derby ends in a draw, Paddy Power will also refund your losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles).

Behind Silva, Swansea’s Michu is the most fancied anytime scorer from midfield with Paddy offering 17/10 on a strike at the Hawthorns. Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is at 21/10 to register against Spurs, with West Ham’s Kevin Nolan just behind the Gunners man and Yaya Toure at 9/4 to get on the scoresheet against the Potters.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 3

Arsenal3.1

Hull are yet to score from open play this season and Manchester City had the best defensive record at home in the top flight last term. That, in a nutshell, is all you need to know when it comes to picking out a likely clean sheet this weekend. If you’re nursing any City defenders in your squad after Sunday’s setback, at least you’ll be confident in them keeping a shut-out this time around; they’re at 4/6 with Paddy Power.

West Ham are hard to break down at Upton Park, and they square up to a Stoke side that scored just 13 on the road last term. The Hammers are 7/5 to keep Mark Hughes’ men out on Saturday afternoon in what looks set to be a muscular war of attrition.

The biggest revelation on show in these odds is perhaps Newcastle and Crystal Palace being amongst the top five. The pair have just one Premier League point between them but are 9/5 and 2/1 respectively with Paddy Power to record a shut-out in the Gameweek. The Toon Army welcome Fulham to St James’ Park and Palace host a Sunderland side that have won just one of the last eight league games on their travels.

Games against Man U and Swansea aren't exactly desirable fixtures, and with the common set-up of having two cheapies (4mil) it seems stupid to bench him for 2 weeks when you can get in a WHU def who are more than likely to get CS's over Toure.

What if Toure is not rdy for the united game? and if he is, is he likely to keep a CS? And the transfer window is still open, and rumour are saying that Liverpool are closing in on either Sakho or Lloris, that means Kolo could lose his gametime.

Fraizer Campbell beats 3 defenders and sets up Dean Windass to score one of the best goals at the new Wembley in 2008 to get Hull up to the Premier League. I was there.

This lad has been around for a while and is no slouch.

Got a real headscratcher...boiled down to two chances

    Boruc (foster)
    murner coleman ward (chester ivan)
    wally coutinho miralas hazard kim
    soldado lambert dzeko

    A: hazard >> j.morrison and next gw ivan + dzeko >> def 4.9m (have coleman) + Rvp (-4)
B: hazard >> jarvis and next gw ivan + dzeko >> mertesacker + Rvp (-4)

    if i go with A:
    - getting a mid in the 6m brakcet which has lots of options compared to 5.5m mid
    - but will there be big difference in point output between a 5.5 vs 6m mid?
    - i will most likely play 3-4-3 in most weeks

    if i go with B:
    - i get a big hitter defender and will lead to playing a 4-3-3 more often

As an Everton fan this is how I think we should line up (4-2-2-2) and my reasons why - sorry blue nose thoughts.

    Howard
    Coleman-------Distin-----Jags------------Baines
    Fellaini--------Osman/Barkley
    Mirallas----------Deulofeu/Pienaar
    Kone---------Jelavic

+ I really think that Jelavic can hit his form again if he gets the right service. He is a poacher and needs rebounds, balls across the box, crosses etc. Fellaini is a great cdm given his strength. However much I love the Baines and Pienaar overlap Deulofeu gives us a little more pace which we need.

    - Barkley has hit incredible form and in this formation he would be a little too deep but he could adapt. He could always move into one of the CDM positions.

    What do u think?

Last chance for Mirallas. Snodgrass gets more time for me because he's just now started playing.

everyone saying Totenham have tightened up at the back, they have only played Crystal Palace and Swansea at home!!!! Arsenal will score 3 past them!

What were they meant to do against Palace and Swansea at home- concede negative goals?

what I am saying is that better attacking teams will score past them. It's no surprise they kept cleanies in those matches!

I think the big fuss is because of how gross she looked doing it, compared to other more attractive celebrity twerkers.
