Following City’s stuttering victory over Hull, there are four three o’clock kick-offs to help pick up the momentum, before Crystal Palace host Sunderland in the tea-time encounter.

This afternoon’s matches aren’t exactly bristling with Fantasy potential, although Everton’s trip to Cardiff will be of key interest given the ownership of Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman and this week’s speeding bandwagon, Frazier Campbell.

Not surprisingly, after the victory over City, Cardiff boss, Malky Mackay keeps an unchanged lineup. Roberto Martinez starts with both Baines and Marouane Fellaini, despite speculation on their future at the club, as the Toffees also field an unchanged side to the one that drew 0-0 with West Brom last time out.

Up at St James’ Park, Alan Pardew is able to call upon Johan Cabaye for the clash with Fulham, although the Frenchman only makes the bench following his in-house dispute with the club. The Magpies are otherwise unchanged. Martin Jol makes several tweaks to his visiting Fulham lineup as Bryan Ruiz, Darren Bent and Alex Kacaniklic all earn starts; Damien Duff, Adel Taarabt and Pajtim Kasami are the trio to drop out.

Chris Hughton makes three changes to his Canaries teamsheet for the visit of Southampton to Carrow Road. Seb Bassong and Robert Snodgrass return as expected, while Johan Elmander makes his full debut having notched twice in the midweek Capital One Cup tie. Significantly, Steven Whittaker keeps his place at right-back, as club captain, Russell Martin is the man to drop out. Alex Tettey and Jonny Howson are the other pair to make way. The Saints give Pablo Osvaldo his first start with Jay Rodriguez making way to the bench. Luke Shaw is seemingly only fit enough for a subs role as Danny Fox starts at left-back, while Calum Chambers is again preferred at right-back to Nathaniel Clyne.

Finally, West Ham are another side left untouched. Sam Allardyce keeps faith with the men that earned him a point at Newcastle as the Hammers take on Stoke at Upton Park. Mark Huhges rewards Kenwyne Jones for his midweek hat-trick with a start up front. That’s the only change to the Potters lineup that ran out 2-1 winners over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains open throughout these matches and into this evening’s clash at Selhurst Park.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I was at the Cardiff-Everton game today, Everton really need a new striker or to play Fellaini back up there, he was so deep almost playing as a 3rd CB at times, not going anywhere near him this season. Barkley on the other hand looked bright had a few shots again and was playing just behind the striker, can understand the bandwagon now. Marshall MOTM for me thou, should hopefully pick up some bonus points!

I heard Barkley was taking too many touches today instead of giving an early pass, was this true?

It was captain Coloccini giving him a welcome back to the team, re-integration hug after all the booing he received.

Arsenal aren't going to bid £20m+ for him so he'll stay put with us and hopefully put in a decent shift every week.

Yeah, fair play. Really thought a NEW defender was a recipe for disaster.

I still think HBA isn't worth a mid spot (mind you who is atm?), but if Newcastle score he will surely be involved as the rest of them appear pretty useless.

He really was excellent today though.

Usually he has 2 players man marking him in matches, which is why he is just constantly shooting from 30 yards as soon as he gets the ball.

As soon as Remy came on the extra man had to drop back to defend him as well leaving Benny so much room. He just toyed with their defense for 15 minutes, running rings around them. As a Newcastle fan it was great to watch. He should have had about 6 assists if Cisse and Gouffran had been more clinical.

Gah, this is frustrating, at the back we are fine, could do with a commanding keeper tho.

Our central Mid 2 & up top are just not good enough. Cant wait to have Jozy & Fletch up top. Ki from Swansea will be an ideal fit for us when he comes, we just need a decent option alongside him. Larsson, Gardner & Vaughan are just not good enough. PDC clearly doesn't fancy Cabral either.

I like Di Canio, he has good footballing principles. I think he wants a squad with a high level of fitness and intensity, but im not sure he is capable of building such a side in the PL.

    Corrigan (or anyone irk)

Can you please explain the midfielders not awarded BPS for assists rule?

"What's crucial now is that midfield assists are not recognised in the BP system so you need mids that will rack up the goals. Conversely, defenders are being showered with BPs."

Right, I may be jumping to conclusions, but from what I've read and looking at what BPs have been awarded so far, very few mids with just assists are being given BPs unlike under the PPI system.

        Ahhhh ok, thanks.

Thought you meant that mids weren't getting their 3 points towards the BPS.
