Our “Flutter” season has not started well. While Edin Dzeko got on the scoresheet last weekend at Cardiff, naïve defending from City at set-pieces cost us some first week winnings and has left us chasing an early loss. Unperturbed by the setback, we’re clutching another tenner and clawing at Paddy Power’s door for another set of Scout Picks-inspired markets.

It’s a low-fat version for this week, with just three bets to tempt our tenner. That’s all good, however, because the odds on show warrant a bigger slice of our stake pie.

For starters, Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Kevin Nolan goal with a West Ham clean sheet at home to Stoke. Given that Nolan should have notched two goals in two games with the header missed at Newcastle last time out, and the fact that the Hammers have only allowed one shot on goal thus far, these odds look more than generous. We’ll snap this up by laying out a fiver of our cash on the West Ham skipper.

That cuts our stake money in half, which is a shame because up next we’ve a Theo Walcott market that also looks somewhat tempting.

Paddy are dangling 8/1 on a Walcott goal with an Arsenal clean sheet in the North London derby with Spurs. Now, while that fixture normally offers an avalanche of goals, we’re half expecting Spurs to be more cagey this time around, rolling out a disciplined 4-3-3 and perhaps leaving Roberto Soldado a little isolated up top. A narrow Gunners win could be on the cards and there’s no doubt that Walcott, along with Olivier Giroud, is the key Gunners threat on show. We’ll put £2 of our remaining funds on this one, leaving the rest for our final market.

That falls to David Silva. A hugely popular Fantasy pick going into the Gameweek, the smart money is on City inflicting some heavy damage on Steve Bruce’s Hull outfit at the Etihad, with Silva cast in the role of chief architect. With a goal and assist already chalked up in the opening pair of fixtures, the little Spaniard has form going into Saturday’s clash and Paddy have him priced at 13/5 for a goal with a City clean sheet against the Tigers. That’s enough to prise the final £3 from our mitts.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He can get points from a highly probable clean sheet. He can get points by assisting any of the above forwards. He can easily be amongst the goals too. The three forwards above are all at rotation risk. We simply don't know who will start up front for any City games this season and so that is guesswork. Guessing means we lose points. And so for those reasons I am sticking with Captain Silva this week. One or all three of those forwards will likely score too but who knows who will start? I'll play a percentages game and hedge the surest thing. And Silva is that.

Dzekos time in the sun is over. He was part of the losing team last week and Pelligrini won't take any more chances. He'll play his strongest front two, Aguero and Negredo and make sure City are three up before he brings on Dzeko. He'll play a bit part from now on like he always has.

Dzeko had nothing to do with them doing poorly. They were 1-1 when he was off. He was being fed nothing yet still scored a great long-distance goal.

Playing Dzeko is barely a risk. He has been arguably their best player over the last 2 games.

So in a nutshell. Cap’n’cy choices:
If you have Aguero, you cap’n him.
If you have Walcott but not Aguero, you cap’n him.
If you have neither, you cap’n Silva.
Got none of them? You cap’n Giroud.
Not got him either? Then you cap’n Goldado.
    If all else fails, RVP.
Feel free to reproduce to prevent further cap’n’cy dilemnas.

Usually I'd agree. I think there is a reasonable chance of 2 pointers from Walcott, sturridge, soldado though. A 2 pointer isn't much better than 1. On the other hand I she huge up side if dzeko starts, which I expect, or even if he plays 30 mins. He's odds on to score with bookies too.

You missed out the main man - Zabaleta

Hull are an organised, defensive team who will look to shut City out rather than score themselves.
In the olden days a clean sheet got a defender 4 points, with the new baps it's more like 6 or 7.
Zabaleta's raids down the right could also bring attacking points.

Paddy seems to agree with Aguero being the #1 pick. Walcott is pretty low down the table. RVP is above Silva.

Guys between Norwich & Palace who has the higher chance of getting CS

Norwich were impressive defensively at home last season but I guess it all comes down to opponent this GW

Have a feeling Altidore will open his goal scoring account this GW but I avoid to trust my gut feeling

Torn between Murner & Ward so please tell me your opinions 😐

1-1 when Dzeko came off against Cardiff.

Ended up losing 3-2 after Negredo came on.

Pretty clear Dzeko has to start.

        Negredo scored a consolation goal.

If Dzeko was left on the game would have been put out of doubt long before Campbell came along.

Negredo won't score the kind of goal dzeko scored against Cardiff. Dzeko can break deadlock because he's unpredictable. Better suited to this league. He is a season keeper imo.

I think people shouldn't hang around their PCs after drinking so much. Many people make radical decisions and then regret it the next day.
Sometimes it maybe helps because you get the player you always wanted but couldn't get. But mostly, there are bad decisions.

I've watched cout.. i like his style but no real impact, and vs manu I dont see him doing much... Swansea on the other hand NEEDS a win.. And who else than Michu to score?

Save to have two for the international break and any injuries.

Cout is a great player and will likely come good. If he doesn't you can get shot but two games is too soon.
