Last week we updated the Fantasy Football Scout “Hall of Fame” or “HoF”. You can access this via the HOF tab at the top of the site or via this page.

The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. In a nutshell it tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly.

The “HoF Rating” is based on points scores from previous FPL campaigns, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous year. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2013/13 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Rating” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allocate managers a rank alongside the veterans of the FPL. It’s not a guaranteed way of identifying the best FPL managers in the Fantasy Football Scout Leagues, but we think it’s pretty good at identifying those who have displayed good consistency.

We generate two separate tables in the Hall of Fame. The “Career” table that updates every year and a “Live” table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek. Everyone can see the “Career” table via the link but Fantasy Football Scout members also get to see a live table via the Members Area which inludes current 2013/14 points totals in the table and takes these into account when calculating the HoF rating. This can be more than a little bit helpful and reassuring in that, using the team ids in the table, you can examine the squads and transfer activity of some of the top FPL managers.

For example, Career Hall of Fame leader, Ulrik Nylund is clearly a hugely successful FPL boss, having masterminded three top 200 finishes in six seasons. Indeed, Ulrik is yet to finish outside of the top 8000 in any of those seasons – an incredible level consistency. Interestingly, however, he’s currently sitting on 179 points and is ranked just inside the top 300,000. Having said that, his wildcard is currently active, perhaps reflecting his start to the campaign.

If you want to get yourself in the Hall of Fame, simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (1580-1106), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area. You will be entered and visible on the table once the next Gameweek deadline passes and FPL leagues are updated.

For more information on how the Hall of Fame works, view the movie below in which I talk through the tables with its creator, “Professor” Chris Atkinson.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How accurate is the Goal Keeping bench recommendations in RMT... I've noticed some problems with it:

I have Mignolet and Davis however it says I should bench Mignolet over a unplayed keeper in two game weeks which is obviously incorrect:

    Mignolet - 5.7m - 3.58 b - 3.89 - 3.62 b - 4.11 - 3.5 - 3.87 - 22.57
    Davis - 4m --------- 0.08 - 0.09 b - 0.12 - 0.12 b - 0.1 b - 0.12 b - 0.62

Cool thanks. Wasn't sure if there was a miscalculation or the likes, as even with a third keeper vs starting keeper there is still a recommended rotation as you've mentioned which I find a bit odd.

The point is on the small chance that Davis does play, he will probably get more points than Mignolet. Otherwise, Mignolet will come on off the bench and you will get the same result as you would have had you started him.

Mmm I suppose. Very strange it is, and I've noticed it with alot of other keepers also. But I got to admit the RMT has been pretty accurate with my team, being within 1-2 points each week.

If Davis plays then he'll RMT thinks he'll get more points. It is very unlikely he will play though.

Sorry for repost last on previous page. What would you recommend

I always planned on getting Benteke in on my WC for gw4 against Newcastle. Now my predicament is who to not get instead as I have Soldado and Sturridge but feel Giroud is becoming a must also.. Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all have great fixtures that are hard to ignore so should I not get Benteke? Or just hope Walcott is enough arsenal cover?

    My current WC team:

    Migs, Daniels
    Vidic, Zab, Mert, Collins, Chester
    Walcott, Lampard, Barfa, Sessegnon!!, Brady
    Benteke(c), Soldado(vc), Sturridge
.2 itb. Will prob chicken out and make Sess Hernandez realistically. They play Fulham and then are home to Sunderland though I imagine he will be mad to score that game. All opinions are appreciated

Well even you know Sess is a rash on a nuns nipple.

I don't like Lamp. or Soldudo and sturridge has earned his early mustard.
Can't argue with Tekkers (great talent) but I favour Agbon as a diff. for Villa.

      Reasonable. Go for it.

Since when did everything boil down to trying to get BAPs? Awesome, of course, but a midfielder goal will always outscore maximum BAPs. Any position, really, with a single assist the same as max.

Vidic -- Mert -- Jose Enrique -- Coleman -- Chester

Does that Look OK in the back? I'm a bit worried about the lack of quality CBs for a backline that expensive, but there's no good CB option with Liverpool and there doesn't seem to be much point in selling Coleman since I've had him from the start. Would Dawson, Lovren, or Collicini be just as good as Coleman? I lean toward no. Also, Mert over Kos is the right call, no? Mert has done very well with the BPS.

Against Palace yes Vidic will play 90 minutes. But for whole season Rafael is more nailed on than Vidic since we have 5 CB to compete. None can compete with Rafael in right back.
