I am on my WC this GW and i feel the same way. The top 6 clubs have great fixtures for the next few GWs so even if the "big mids" emerge i see the top defs still scoring points and getting bps. All of this will allow you to make transition smooth and with confidence that your team will still score well.
There's only Walcott I feel comfortable with having in a midfielder slot! Especially when a lot of new midfielders have come in during the transfer window and we don't know how they'll play and with teams, like Chelsea, where we don't know what midfielders will be fielded and how much rotation will go on
With the new BPs only goal scoring mids would matter and only goal scoring mids will outperform top defs. This season is just different and i think the clubs fighting for the CL spots will have no trouble averaging 12-15 cleansheets each. I am going with Walc and HBA aswell, will take a punt with lamella and thats as much as i plan to invest in that section.
Also defenders can score and assist as well! I was brave and doubled up on City defence last week AND captained Zabaleta! For the next 3-4 weeks until things settle down and become clearer I think 4 at the back is a must

I was undecided between Soldado and Coutinto or Sturridge and Lamela but chose the Soldado one. I'm waiting until more mids stand out. Until then it's 4 at the back!

last season i was in the non rvp camp and had rooney ,aguero when they were fit.but he provides a solid captain choice and on penalties..corners,free kicks for a top team and nailed on.owned by 45 % of the game.
and i am a UNITED fan ..don't want our main striker not scoring goals..(sadly this is what fantasy football does to you) 🙁

I swapped RvP out for Suarez last season and captained him. As a United fan I felt ill. Brought me a load of points.

would rather have walcott over ozil..walcott will benefit from ozil's passes and rack up more goals..no doubt ozil will do very well over the season..but walcott will get more goals...redmond may not be nailed on with pilkington back..

I don't quite get the potential transfers as it looks like you would be transferring Sturridge out to bring in RVP but you have put both in your team.

You can't possibly put together that team. Even if you had all these players at GW1 prices, I think that team would have a team value of £104.
Either you're lying about that (rather decent) team, or you've wrongly listed one of those players in that RMT.

The difference being he was tired from the summer but still in favour, rather than tired and out of favour.

That's a pretty strong team! The only thing I'd do is get Brady in for Hernandez and use the £1M on Lampard. Coutinho or Michu for now and then maybe transfer in Lamela if he proves him self.
I'll take Hernandez all day, already have lamps, just dropped Cou and don't fancy Michu

I had a play around with it and just couldn't make it work. Decided that all my strikers were on form, fit and with good fixtures.

I don't see him banging in brace after brace or hat trick after hat trick. I think having Walcott in will soften the blow. Looking at both Lambert and Bents fixtures they are cheap and proven goalscorers. I don't think it is worth the points hit and the downgrade myself.

I don't think Terry is going to play very often. I would bring Mert in for Terry and upgrade Delph to Wittingham.
or personally I would downgrade Bentele tp Lambert and do the other transfers to upgrade Delph to a medium to big hitting midfielder.
Interesting idea downgrading teke so instead of 4-3-3 go to a 3-4-3?

A beautiful draft Doc. Really like it. Looks great. Except for UTD attackers of course but you have flexibility to bring the inform midfielder in for Lamps.
