Having failed to score in Arsenal’s first four fixtures, Theo Walcott’s start to the season has been a major disappointment. While Olivier Giroud racks up the goals, the Gunners winger has yet to get off the mark and with Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey offering alternatives across the price points in the Fantasy games, Walcott’s case for inclusion in our five-man midfields hasn’t exactly been a convincing one.

With Arsene Wenger’s side primed for a superb run of fixtures which sees them face just two of last term’s top six in the next 10 Gameweeks, investment in Arsenal’s main assets seems a sensible tactic. Bearing this in mind, in this latest members article, we delve into the data and assess Walcott’s displays for the season in comparison to the previous campaign.

    When you also consider that Stoke have conceded the most shots inside the box in there two away games so far it all leads to Walcott (c)..

    Theo stats look good on paper but far from impressed by his performances. Ozil is much better player, walcott looks more of a threat indeed but ozil has the class to actually turn his threat into points.

    Something in my opinion walcott lacks. if he was a little greedier, a little more composed he would be an excellent pick who would consistently be bringing home the points. Unfortunately he is not.

      Obviosuly Walcott is nowhere near as good a footballer a Ozil, not many players are, but we know from previous seasons, in particular 12/13, that Walcott CAN turn his threat into points. He is in my team and I am not even close to considering shipping him

    Have already used up FT...2.5m in bank
    With injury doubts over Coutinho, Ward, Shaw...is it worth taking a hit on Cout -> Michu / HBA or any other mids

    Or any other suggestions ??

      Hearing Cout is supposed to be out for 6 weeks.

      So either play your sub, another formation and a different sub, or take a hit if you think Michu/HBA will get more than 6pts @ Crystal Palace/Hull.

    I'm a big fan of getting underachieving players in, after loads of people have transferred them out. Looking at Snodgrass this week, playing Aston Villa at home who are absolutely terrible at keeping clean sheets.

    Can anyone tell me how Snodgrass has looked, even if he hasn't been scoring points?

      Don't forget: That Villa seem to be doing better away than at home. Their counter attacking style doesn't seem to be working well for them at home. And that Norwich have been dire.
