Aaron Ramsey is expected to shake off a thigh complaint in time for Arsenal’s trip to Swansea. Steve Bruce reveals Robbie Brady is nursing a hernia problem. Danny Rose is likely to return for Tottenham, West Brom have concerns up front as they head to Old Trafford, Bryan Ruiz requires a late fitness test ahead of Fulham’s clash with Cardiff, while Palace welcome back Joel Ward but lose Damien Delaney for the trip to Southampton:

Arsene Wenger had plenty midfield issue to discuss in this morning’s press conference. The Gunners boss has revealed Theo Walcott is “realistically five weeks away” from a return to the first-team fold, though Santi Cazorla could be back after the international break. Wenger also revealed both Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey will be assessed prior to tomorrow’s trip to Swansea – Flamini has “a small shoulder problem”, while Ramsey, according to his manager, “has a little thigh problem but should be alright”. While the Ramsey prognosis seems positive, it is, nonethleless the 730,000+ Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who have drafted the Welshman in over the last forthnight.

Having recently lost James Chester and Robert Koren for up to two months through injury, Hull boss Steve Bruce has admitted he is monitoring Robbie Brady’s condition, with the winger suffering from a hernia problem. At present, Bruce remains positive over Brady’s availability and is still uncertain whether the former United man will need to go under the knife to resolve the issue:

“Robbie has a problem that will obviously need to be sorted out sooner or later. We shall continue to monitor him and see how he goes and, at this stage, it is touch and go whether or not he will need an operation. The last thing you need after just coming up from the Championship is injuries to key players – and we have already got two key men ruled out for lengthy spells. Losing these lads is a big blow, but now we have just got to get on with it and hope we don’t have any more bad luck on the injury front.”

The Baggies have worries over a couple of forwards for their trip to Old Trafford this weekend. Nicolas Anelka and Victor Anichebe are both uncertain to feature against the champions – Steve Clarke could be set to field Shane Long as the lone forward if he retains the 4-2-3-1 system that proved so successful against Sunderland last weekend. Chris Brunt remains sidelined with a groin injury, though, with Scott Sinclair likely to benefit with another start on the left.

Andre Villas-Boas is confient of welcoming back Danny Rose to the Tottenham fold for tomorrow lunchtime’s clash against Chelsea at the Lane. The left-back has missed the last two games in all competitions with a toe problem but according to his manager:

“For Danny, there is a 90 per cent chance that he will make the game, so that gives us options down that flank.”

Rose should wrestle the starting role from Kyle Naughton, though Villas-Boas still has doubts over Younes Kaboul’s availability due to a thigh problem. Michael Dawson is set to continue in central defence, though Vlad Chiriches made his debut in the midweek cup win at Villa and offers an alternative.

Paul Lambert has a number of concerns as Villa prepare for the visit of City. The midlands club are, of course, without Christian Benteke for Saturday’s home clash with Manuel Pellegrini’s men but Lambert revealed the Belgian isn’t the only player he could be missing. Ashley Westwood remains a real doubt with the thigh problem that kept him out of last week’s win at Norwich while Gabby Agbonlahor, Antonio Luna, Fabian Delph and Ciaran Clark all picked up problems in the Canaries win and were omitted from the side that lost to Spurs in the cup earlier this week. The Villa boss remains optimistic, however, that the latter quartet will be ready in time and was also positive on a quicker-than-expected return for Benteke, going on to say:

“He is doing great and I think he will be back quicker. He is doing really fine now and seems a lot happier within himself. We just have to wait and see. We’ve got two games before the international break. The international break has probably come at the right time for him and for us and he is doing great at the minute. The worst fear was that he was going to be out for considerable time but the way he is progressing, I think everybody is pretty happy.”

Crystal Palace will be without centre-half Damien Delaney for tomorrow’s trip to Southampton. The defender was subbed off with an ankle injury in last week’s home defeat by Swansea and was initially expected to be facing a long spell on the sidelines but Ian Holloway suggested he has “half a chance” of making next week’s trip to Liverpool. Joel Ward is back for the Eagles, though, and will return at right-back, allowing Adrian Mariappa to move inside and partner Danny Gabbidon at centre-half.

Martin Jol could be set to welcome back Aaron Hughes and Bryan Ruiz to the Fulham fold this weekend. The Cottagers boss explained yesterday:

“Aaron will join us tomorrow and he will do a fitness test. Bryan is the same – I think he could be involved but we are not 100 per cent certain yet because he hasn’t trained with me, so he will join us on Friday.”

Fulham will be without Maarten Stekelenburg, Matthew Briggs and Ashkan Dejagah once again, though, with David Stockdale again benefitting from the Dutchman’s shoulder injury absence.

I was going to play him this week and transfer out Walcott out next week (to avoid a 4 point hit). Now a likely 1 point sub appearance from Ravel makes me look for a replacement for Theo for this GW.

During international break. Worth having for the 2 fixtures beforehand, and can be benched if only out for a short period after.

      My two are

Barkley ..attacking player in an attacking side and still cheap.

Whittingham...penalties and set piece hogger...good value for 5m with those attributes.

I wouldn't go for these two

Sidwell is a defensive midfielder, with the odd goal in him, but more likely a red card.

Brady...this hernia op is so frustating. He would have been first choice for me here but for a WC team you can't be going for injury doubts. Sad as he'll probably play this weekend and its a good fixture. Long term though he looks like a big heap of price drops and a red flag.

How's this WC team looking? Debating on changing Zaba to Vidic or Evra so i can double on Man Utd. Or even considering Walker. The other dilemma i have is whether to go with Oscar or Eriksen. Any put lads?

    Boruc Vorm

Wilson Rafael B Turner Ward Zabaleta

    Morrison Arnautovic Ozil Michu Oscar

    Rooney Suarez Lukaku

Not a fan. Not 100% nailed on players - Rafael, Arnautovic, Morrison, Lukaku.

Granted, some or all could be nailed on but it's not certain. A WC needs less punts than this.

Zaba worth keeping - Perhaps find the money to upgrade Rafael to Vidic from your midfield.

Vidic an upgrade on Rafael? Rafa is first choice at RB and offers a greater goal and assist threat than Vidic. Don't really see much risk on that.

Morrison is bench fodder. He'll probably feature most games and offers a good threat. I'm flexible on Arnautovic but i think that position is his to own. Has looked good in the 2 games i've seen him in so far.

Granted Lukaku is a risk. He was last year too and look at his returns. He's the best striker at Everton and i don't think it will take Martinez long to recognize that. Plus he's a beast from the bench.

The Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus) is the smallest bear in the world, but it is also considered by many to be the fiercest. It is currently listed as endangered, mostly due to hunting. In many countries, bile from the gallbladders of Sun Bears is praised for its medicinal qualities, and their paws are used for soup. In some countries, Sun Bears are kept as pets.

We don't know for sure but it sounds like the most likely thing is that he'll wait until the international break for his hernia operation.

Who would you rather have – K Toure (5.0) or Dawson (5.1)?

Got Boruc and Clyne to cover that one.

          Current backline is:

          Boruc, Vorm
          Dawson/Toure, Clyne, Wilson, Baines, Zaba

At the moment it's a toss up between Kolo and Dawson.
Or downgrade Cylne and Wilson and get Vidic/Rafael?

            No problem mate.

Even in CL III I can only really recruit 34 yr old double stars, getting 1 or 2 seasons at the most from them.

I'm really just treading water until I can afford the big stadium, hopefully then I can splash the cash and develop a great team.

I've still never had a superstar!

I've also found that the best formation seems to be 6-3-1, as defenders with high ratings are easier to procure.

Also - I never use the scout function, such a waste of points at 6 each time. Instead I switch my strategy straight after the match to attacking, and then back to defensive about 5 mins before the games - better to use 4 points to 'fool' anybody scouting me (2 for each tactic change), than use 6 to scout them, and then 2 more to change my tactics accordingly, if you get me, this method comes at half the cost.

Fellaini and Bale both dropped 0.4 in 3 weeks last year but both started with much higher active ownership than Wally has now.

I'd say a drop of 0.4 over 5 weeks could be about right so 9.0

After watching Sturridge's cack performance against United, and bearing in mind a possible dead cat bounce from Sunderland, I'm considering benching him to play Arnie, Barkley and Ramsey ahead of him.

          Arnie (NOR)
          Barkley (NEW)
          Ramsey (swa)
          Sturridge (sun)

Think Vidic is more likely than Evra - though I prefer Evra myself.

Michu and Ozil both have tough opposition (each other obviously) and Morrison's not even guaranteed a game.

Sturridge didn't lookg great during the week and Lambert's not in great form either.

Yeah but I mean you can't pick Suarez over Sturridge, because both didnt look great against UTD, but Sturridge been consistent until recently.

Morrison something like 4 goals in 5 games, has to start, good chance for picks.
If they see goals in Arsenal game why not pick both, they were rested mid-week and always seem to do something.

Reckon Scouts will pick 4 at the back and go 4-3-3?

        Brady recovery time from operation:

How long until I can play again after sports hernia surgery?

Recovery time varies from athlete to athlete based on the individual's ability to achieve all rehabilitation goals. In general, playing sports can be achieved in 4-6 weeks after sports hernia surgery. The ultimate goal is for athletes to return to their sport-specific activity with 100% effort free from groin pain.

This means he's likely to miss games against:

        Everton
        Tottenham

And return vs Sunderland/Southampton or at the very latest crystal palace.

Would you wildcard this team? already spent 4 points to get to it? Would probably change all apart from Mignolet, Rooney, Giroud, Erikson and Michu. If not keep and do Soldado and Mirralas to Sturridge and Ozil next week?

        Mignolet

        Terry / Koscielney / Collins / Turner / CHESTER

        Michu / Erikson / Mirralas / BRADY / MORRISON

        Rooney / Soldado / Giroud

        Thanks.

If you wildcard now, you miss all the price rises. Keep the team and WC if you feel like on saturday night and catch the risers.

        Bruce on Brady

He’s better this week than he was last week.

Serious question. Play Barkley at home or giroud away?
        Thanks

Time to sell Giroud if you can't play every week imo.

+1. If you are even considering that you shouldn't have Giroud to begin with.

I see most people are jumping on the Rooney bandwagon. So are people with RVP taking him out then??

A big mix, some are, some aren't, up to the individual.
