The Gameweek continues with a pair of Sunday encounters, beginning at the Britannia as Mark Hughes transformed Stoke outfit take on troubled Norwich. Following that, Liverpool have the opportunity to make up ground on the early pace setters as they make the trip to the Stadium of Light to face rock bottom Sunderland under the stewardship of Kevin Ball.

The early team news sees Hughes name an unchanged XI from the side that lost at Arsenal last weekend. This sees site cult favourite Marko Arnautovic line up on the Potters’ left, while Erik Pieters has recovered from the problem that kept him out of the midweek cup win over Tranmere. Peter Crouch and Stephen Ireland warm the bench again after both found the net in Wednesday’s win over the lower league side.

For Norwich, Chris Hughton makes as many as four alterations after last weekend’s home defeat at the hands of Villa. Seb Bassong fails to recover from a hamstring injury and drops out along with Javier Garrido, Nathan Redmond and Johan Elmander – Ryan Bennett, Martin Olsson, Alex Tettey and Anthony Pilkington are the replacements. Midweek goal hero Gary Hooper is on the bench again after bagging a brace in the cup win at Watford.

Our Dugout Discussion is now open to cover your real-time chatter requirements right up to the final whistle on Wearside.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

With Suarez going from 19 BPS to 18 and Sturridge from 19 to 16 we still don't really know how this winning goal thing works.

In another fantasy game I used to play the winning goal was deemed to be the first one to make the final score not a draw, if you know what I mean. So in a 3-0 win the first goal was the winning goal and in a 3-1 win the second goal for the home team was the winning goal. That was pretty stupid, as all goals are worth the same, but easy to work out at least and you could partly understand the thinking behind.

Any chance we can have this clarified, perhaps by some Scout mod since you're a bit connected to FPL towers now etc?

Ultimately your not going to buy a player for their "winning goal'' potential, these bonus points are completely out of our hands, it's irrelevant!

Yeah, I realy don't see the point. We know who'll get the baps right after the game finishes and it's not like you're going to pick a player because he is more likely to score winning goals than some other player that will only score regular goals 😉

Sent them an email after Swansea's game and that was their response.

      Thanks for your e-mail.

No, the definition of the 'winning goal' in the game is the goal that is scored that initially puts the winning team out in front. So for example if the game's final score was 3-1 then the 2nd goal scorer from the winning team would be awarded the extra point.

However we shall pass your feedback onto the developments team to look into.

thought the same when reading it. their first line makes it sound like the first goal is the one. but their example then clarifies it's the second goal. the word 'initially' is pretty much the most confusing word they could have chosen

For me, the winning goal is exactly like the name suggests: a goal that makes a team go from a draw to a win. So in your 3-0 and 3-1 analysis, for me, there would be NO winning goal. A team going from 1-1 to 2-1, would have a winning goal to the player who scored the second goal. Hence, in the liverpool game, there is NO winning goal. Simple really

it's simple maths, people are just going all moral to complicate it.

step 1) add 1 to the losing team's goal tally.
step 2) work out who scored that goal for the winning team.

      today:
      1) 2
      2) suarez.

Thanks. Thing is, for the same price bracket, you either get a great attacking player for a mediocre team, that will be involved in most goals, or a player who's got great attacking stats for a good team, that won't be involved in the majority of goals, but his team scores a hell of a lot more. I think it's very close between the two.

Who to bring in for Lampard

    A) Ramsey (already have Giroud + Ozil)
    B) Siggy/Paulinho
    C) Keep

    or the special option

    D) Lampard + Chester > Michu + Rosenior -4. (0.1 short of a straight swap)

Eriksen + Lukaku > Ramsey + Sturridge (both rising) (-4)

With a front line of Sturridge-Giroud-Soldado I don't think I can justify taking a hit to bring in Suarez.

However, can I justify a Nolan -> Hazard trade for a hit given I'm currently starting Mirallas and Baines away at City, and if Nolan's almost certain price drop means I won't be able to afford this trade next week?

Yep. Hazard has v good underlying stats. Chelsea's fixtures are good. Mata's return will help him. He may well be on pens if Lampard doesn't recover from the knock at the end of the game last w/e
