Sold by Sunderland on the final day of the summer transfer window after then-manager Paolo Di Canio decided ”he was not capable anymore to give his best”, Stephane Sessegnon has been handed the chance to resurrect his top-flight career at the Hawthorns:

The Benin international made an immediate impact on his debut – ironically at his former manager’s expense. Handed the role in “the hole” as Steve Clarke returned to the 4-2-3-1 formation of 2012/13, Sessegnon dazzled in the Baggies’ 3-0 Gameweek 5 home win over the Black Cats and turned in a display that suggested his former manager was perhaps a little rash in his decision to sell.

Sessegnon has failed to produce a goal or assist in his following four appearances for the Baggies – given that run included games against United, Arsenal and Liverpool, in addition to a derby trip to Stoke, it’s fair to say the fixtures have been firmly against the 6.6 priced Fantasy Premier League (FPL) midfielder. With five home games in the next eight, supplemented by trips to Newcastle and Cardiff, the schedule is starting to smile a little kinder on Clarke’s side and with Sessegnon at the hub of their attacking ploys, we delve into the data to assess him displays thus far.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Who to bench...
    Ramsey (Liv home)
    Januzaj (Ful away)
    Arnautovic (Soton home)

Currently on Arnie but 2 goals in 2 games along with Januzaj playing last night is raising doubts?!?

Hoping as a Utd fan that Moyes sticks with him considering the form he's in. But Shinji not playing any minutes would worry me most as a Janz owner

Bench Clyne and Januzaj yeah. Januzaj has to be heading for the bench after playing in the league cup. Lovren is better threat than Clyne.

If I was to take a punt it would be playing Clyne over Coleman because I don't trust the Everton defence, whether I have to double or not.

It is indeed but, factoring in assists, Luis has been involved in 2 goals a game since his return. Maybe both is the way to go if you fancy it, personally I think Benteke's fixtures offer him the chance to outscore Studge.

Everyone disagreed with me earlier on this, so be careful taking this advice. But long term I dont like rooney that much, never scored over 14 with a strikepartner and no penalties and stats suggest he wont do much better this season either 15-16 goals looks like his ceiling barring RVP injury ofcourse, along with 7-8 assists. While Suarez, Tekkers, Aguero, maybe even Sturr and Lukaku are looking at 20+ goals IMO

I think they key with kun is patience he got over 200 points from 2600 mins the season they were champions.

Last season he suffered alot of injuiries

So if he stays fit he will easily score over 200 points so an odd spot of rotation wont be an issue over a long season.

He could, but I think the realistic scenario is a 1 pointer. Actually expecting anything more is wishful thinking imo. It depends what the alternative is too. Daniel above has Whitts at home to Swansea. Those are the kind of matches you get Whitts for.

I dont know moyes that well but I would have a lifethreatning facepalm situation if he benches the man who has made the past 3 games for United. I would understand if they would have anyone else in his position but they dont, outside of Valencia uniteds wingers have been piss poor for a while I dont see why they would get a game.

He benched him last week for Kagawa though and has Welbeck and Nani playing on the left wing too. These are the three reasons I didn't buy Januzaj, no matter how good he is he's not gonna be nailed on with those three.

Sure he's great but it just doesn't work out.

But look what happened, United almost lost again and the wings were the worst part of that team by far, both sides failed to track back or do anything offensively. After Januzaj came on on the 58th Stoke managed no shots, posession dropped like a rock and Stoke also got loads of yellows. The kid aint only shooting and attacking, tracks back a lot and has great passing stats and ball control(rarely gives the ball away) That dont mean Moyes will play him this WE, but if he does not I think United may be in trouble again, and I prefer Januzaj 30 min vs Fulham over many other options this week

I don't need any convincing how good Januzaj is: "Sure he's great but it just doesn't work out."

It's just being realistic about what Moyes will do, will he play him every week in his first season over those three?

Sure United COULD struggle against Fulham, and Januzaj COULD come on for a cameo, and he COULD get points, but the other options are 1 pointer, 0 pointer and IMO much more likely.

When I got him, I knew this was the case, and I predicted 70% of starts for him at a best case scenaro, but at 4.5 do you care? I think people are being bias on him due to his price tag I mean I see you have Siggy who has the same or even less of a chance than Januzai to start, and you still put him in your team. You dont bench him, while Januzaj is as explosive. Id rather risk a 1 pointer, than benching a double figure haul which he is capable of.

But I called Siggy right, I got two starts from him. What went wrong is that he lost his starting spot with two nightmare games against West Ham and Villa. He had three consecutive starts before I bought him too and had done very well.

Now that he has messed up his audition, I am selling him of course.

Put it another way, what you said is simply not true: "Siggy who has the same or even less of a chance than Januzai to start, and you still put him in your team"

That was not true when I bought him. It is almost a month later.

Stop your bias. Clear that Januzaj is a massive risk, just because you own him it doesn't make him more likely to start. The Fulham team was also 2nd string so you can't compare and say he will do damage lol

Januzaj played 90. Kagawa, Nani and Valencia all rested. He IS a risk

My bias is not with my owning him, it is with me being a huge fan of him. And in all my statements I have said he may not start, but i prefer his cameo over other options I and a lot of people have. Vidic, Ferdinand, Jones, Rafael all played 90 too for your information in a game where United barely broke a sweat. 50% of those guys will play.

I honestly dont understand how Januzaj isnt 100% nailed on in that Man Utd side when his competition is the perennially frustrating Nani, the gradually getting worse every game he plays for Utd Ashley Young and Zaha who Moyes clearly doesnt trust.

Considering he is at Utd he has very little competition.

Predcition: will look like a world beater in his first appearance. Fans will think he is the real deal then within 3 games he will be back to the lazy, useless lump he always ends up. Then when he is about to negotiate a new contract or its the end of the season and he needs to perform to earn a new deal he will again turn into Ade Worldbeater Adebayor for one game only. The cycle continues.

I'll give you the point that he's terribly inconsistent and frustrating to watch, but I don't think he's ever useless. Even when he's wasting chance, he still holds the ball up and lays it off well to his teammates. Danny Graham is useless. Adebayor is just nowhere as good as he thinks he is.

Fair enough but I find it frustrating that someone who on his day can be as good as anyone centre fwd (see his performance against Chelsea last season) can on another day look like he hasnt got a clue. it has to be down to his attitude.

You are right though Danny Graham is useless - cant believe Sunderland and Hull bought him - surely they watched him play before handing over £millions!!! Unbelievable Jeff!

The thing about Rooney is that he's in some of the best form of his career, and he also has an appetite for big games.

This makes it difficult to sell him even for the bad fixtures like ARS and tot. He could easily tear one of them apart.

I think it's worth keeping him until you see a serious problem with him or United.

I neglected Rooney one year v Arsenal at home. Took me about 3 months to regain the points I lost in that one game. 🙁

This is a great point. He may get a few 2 pointers here and there, but he's explosive and you never know when he's going to go off. And he's much cheaper than RVP!

Yeah, I have loads of memories of Rooney killing my Gooners. Think he's especially deadly against us because he's lethal on the counterattack (another reason why Mourinho was desperate to have him).

By a "serious problem" I also mean something like Rooney dropping into midfield, though Moyes seems to have promised not to do that.

The rest of the fixtures are the same teams.

Coming back from a hip injury or groin injury takes time before you can feel comfortable at full pace.

I reckon after Kagawa missed out in mid week he's going to start this weekend. It just begs the question of who will miss out as a result. There's definitely a chance it could be Janz, but DM could also play Shinji left and Janz on the right (and I hope he does as Janz is playing better than Toni V & Nani). Rooney is nailed on of course for the hole so o chance of Shinji getting a game there.

Moyes would be out of his mind to start Janz on the bench again. They were flat last gw and once he got on the pitch seemed to really perk up imo. He's a catalyst. If he starts Nani I may have to personally travel to Fulham and throw beer upon him.

I say play the young lad and sell Nani in January for a new CB.
