There’s a trio of new arrivals on this week’s Tightrope, the most high profile being a certain United frontman. Wayne Rooney’s caution during Sunday’s draw at Cardiff, picked up for a seventh-minute “challenge” on Jordan Mutch, means he has now accumulated four yellows – if he receives another in any of his side’s next eight league matches between now and January 1, Rooney will serve an automatic one-match ban.

Earlier today, it was confirmed Rooney will not face any retrospective action after kicking out at the Cardiff player, as the incident was dealt with by the referee at the time. Similarly, Everton’s Kevin Mirallas looks set to escape further punishment for his challenge on Luis Suarez in the Merseyside derby – the Belgian, who was also booked for the indiscretion, has since admitted he was lucky not to be dismissed.

According to reports earlier this afternoon, Cardiff’s Gary Medel has escaped punishment for apparently raising his hands in the direction of United’s Marouane Fellaini in yesterday’s 2-2 draw.

Rooney was also joined on the Tightrope by Everton’s Ross Barkley and Southampton’s combative central midfielder Victor Wanyama, who were booked against Liverpool and Arsenal respectively. We now have 26 players sitting on four yellow cards, with only three clubs – Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Cardiff – not represented.

Liverpool do, however, sport the player with the most bookings to his name – Lucas has incurred the referee’s wrath no fewer than six times in the first 12 Gameweeks. Sunderland defender Wes Brown and Palace wide man Yannick Bolasie were both dismissed for dangerous play at the weekend and are currently poised to serve three-match bans.

The FA confirmed earlier today, however, that both clubs have contested the decisions – the Black Cats are particularly confident of winning the appeal in light of Brown’s challenge on Stoke’s Charlie Adam in a 2-0 loss at the Britannia. Fulham’s Sascha Riether will complete the last of a three-game suspension against West Ham; he will return for the Gameweek 14 home clash against London rivals Tottenham.

Gus Poyet welcomes Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena back into the Black Cats’ fold for the trip to Villa after the duo’s respective three-match suspensions came to an end last Saturday. Elsewhere, Mathieu Debuchy returns for Newcastle’s home game with West Brom, having served a one-match ban at home to Norwich for accumulating five yellow cards, whilst Mathieu Flamini is back for Arsenal’s trip to Cardiff, giving Arsene Wenger a double-pivot dilemma away to the Bluebirds.

    Got lost on last page:

Need some Scout advise on this

    -----------------Migs (4.0)---------------------

    Fonte, Terry, Chico (Baker) (Chester)

    Ramsey, Hazard, Lallana, Ravel (Jedinak)

    Aguero, RVP, Suarez

0.3 in the bank, 1 FT

I think I need to get rid of RVP, perhaps for rooney or somebody even cheaper?

    any other thoughts?

That's a big question. You need to decide who you want to bring in to your forward line for a few fixtures. The price difference between Roo and Lukaku etc.. will change other transfers you could do to the rest of your team.

UCL is going to be the deciding factor on whether to bring in Wally or not. If he is brought in as a sub then he will definitely start and i see a goal against Cardiff!

Will he be rushed in to starting all 4 games ?

Amalfitano or Whittingham to get alongside Ravel?
Whittingham is a definition of a 90 minute man with every set piece possible in his locker. However, he offers little to no threat from open play leading to very unpredictable points(8 blanks, Points vs City/Utd and 2 away games)
Amalfitano - is he nailed on? saw him for the first time yesterday and looked pretty good. On corners, playin for a better side and definitely a threat from open play(though more of an assist threat than goal threat)

Hey I don't know if this has been brought up or tried before. But wouldn't it be cool to have club badges we could put by our usernames? Like right next to the membership badge just so we can all know which clubs each other support. It would encourage friendly banter and it will also make it so you can know which advice to take with a grain of salt. (ie: a Chelsea fan saying Torres is a great fantasy pick despite poor form at the moment). Not hating on Chelsea or Torres fans lol.... It wouldn't have to be anything elaborate like each clubs' official crest, but something like a small graphic or the clubs' initials would be cool.

We could also maybe even have a Fantasy Football Scout Premier League Table. Where those who support a give club earn points towards that club; just to encourage managers a little more and add more community to an already great site.

What do people think?...just an idea, but I think it could be fun.(if anyone even reads this post)

A good suggestion.. But have seen this tried on other sites before.. What ends up happening is a huge pile of score for Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and the likes (due to the natural high number of supporters for these clubs) and the others are shamefully low, which is a problem..

If something can be devised to work around this then it would be awesome!

I think it would be a good idea if there was a hot topic every so often, maybe three days, containing all the most talked about points. For example, 'a lot of people are now looking to shift one of the heavy hitting forwards to upgrade their midfield.' Or 'a lot of people of getting tired of so and so's performances, and are now shipping him out for so and so' etc.

Anybody else think that'd be a good idea?

I gotta admit i am a SAR owner who was in the "downgrade Rooney to release funds for midfield" camp until last night..
Watching Benteke play though i realised how lucky i am to have the consistency that Rooney provides upfront. Remy and Newcastle for me are too unpredictable. The only player i'd consider downgrading to would be lukaku but not until GW 16 when mun and ars are out of the way.
Nice idea but.. i do think jonty tends to cover them with his hot topics though.
What i'd prefer is a fan of each club giving a detailed report on each performance of his club's players fplwise after every GW

reason why i might get rid of Ivan before awesome fixure

my annalyses says that big european teams always concede against weakier opponents when they have UCL game in mid week

so often i bet that weakier team score goal against big team and after UCL that ussualy happens in 80% of cases

SAR owners.. if you had to downgrade Rooney to any striker below 9.1 million to free up cash for midfield who would it be. Benteke has disappointed, Giroud has the Walcott alternative, Remy and Newcastle i just dont trust(mindblock) and lukaku has bad fixtures. I'd probably go for Lukaku from them all if any as you just know that over a span of 5 weeks he'll offer great value.
*Note: i aint getting rid of Rooney. This is purely theoretical.

I'd still go Benteke. Gabby and Weimann back should help him get his form back.
Lukaku would be a close second but I still fancy Benteke due to the service provided by Gabby and Weimann.
Plus penalties in his locker. Still no idea who is gonna take pens for Everton now that Baines is out
