Wilfried Bony limps out of Swansea’s match against Valencia with a hamstring problem. Kieran Gibbs is back for Arsenal’s trip to Cardiff, Robert Huth and Marko Arnautovic will miss Stoke’s visit to Everton, Antonio Luna returns for Villa, whilst Mike Williamson is set to start for Newcastle’s home game with West Brom tomorrow evening. Here’s a quick round-up from yesterday’s press conferences:

Kieran Gibbs has recovered from the illness that forced him out of Arsenal’s midweek Champions League win over Marseille. Arsene Wenger was a little cryptic during yesterday’s press conference, however. The Gunners boss conceded that, while he has no injuries, he has “little concerns” ahead of the trip to Cardiff.

Antonio Luna is back in the Villa squad to face Sunderland tomorrow, Paul Lambert has confirmed. The Spaniard has missed the last three Gameweeks with a thigh problem and his return looks set to see Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker battle it out for a place alongside Ron Vlaar at centre-half. Lambert also revealed Gabby Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann “seem ok” after returning to action from the bench in Monday’s derby at West Brom.

Leighton Baines joins Arouna Kone and Darron Gibson on the sidelines for Everton’s home clash with Stoke. Aside from those three, Roberto Martinez expects everyone to be fit, despite a sickness bug affecting players’ ability to train this week. Martinez also revealed he has yet to decide on who will replace Baines and has been assessing his options in training, though conceded he is unlikely to rush Antolin Alcaraz back into the fold – the Paraguayan was handed a 45-minute run-out for the reserves earlier in the weeks after months out with a hamstring injury.

Gus Poyet has a number of issues at the back for Sunderland’s trip to Villa. Kieran Westwood remains a doubt, whilst there are also question marks over Andrea Dossena and Modibo Diakite – Carlos Cuellar is definitely out, though, having picked up a hip injury.

Marko Arnautovic and Robert Huth are both out of Stoke’s trip to Goodison. The Austrian is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury, whilst Huth requires monitoring after picking up a knee problem. Stephen Ireland is back in the squad, though, after missing last week’s win over Sunderland.

Alan Pardew has confirmed Mike Williamson is a definite starter for Newcastle’s home game with West Brom on Saturday evening. With Mathieu Debuchy set to retunr at right-back after a one-game suspension, Williamson (priced at 4.4 in the Fantasy Premier League) looks likely to be named in the XI for the seventh successive game – Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is set to drop to the bench, with Fabricio Coloccini partnering Williamson in the middle.

Swansea are sweating on the fitness of Wilfried Bony and Angel Rangel after both were forced off during last night’s Europa League loss to Valencia. Bony was withdrawn during the first half with a hamstring injury and, after the game, Michael Laudrup conceded his summer signing is set for scans, amid fears he could be sidelined for “several weeks”, whilst Rangel was forced off just before the final whistle with a calf complaint. Pablo Hernandez returned to action from a thigh injury, though, and will be available for Sunday’s trip to City.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream for breaking news as Friday’s press conferences unfold.

Gerrard because he's on pens and he loves the room Suarez creates for him. Check his stats when Suarez plays as opposed to when he's out. Chalk and cheese.

That was mainly to do with how the team played as opposed to being solely due to Suarez, but it is startling.

Coutinho has the slight edge for me. Gerrard still reliant on penalties...but does have corners.

Coutinho's underlying stats show he is very attacking. Can see some assists coming his way.

I was assuming they were hitting a defender a la Hazard, pretty sure there aren't any Premier League goalkeepers capable of spilling a Coutinho shot.

They are that slow that the defender has time to go off and make a cup of tea, then come back on and drink it then calmly kick it clear.

    Migs

    G.Johnson – Clyne – Vlaar

    Oscar – Hazard – Walcott – Ramsey

    Suarez © - Rooney – Benteke

    Bench – Camp – B.Turner – Chester – Brady.

Think Midfield might be a headache if I’m honest with Mouriniho’s comments about rotation, plus the general vibe around her is that Wally will cameo again. Appreciate any of your thoughts?

They have been doing pretty well, they tend to rotate points wise but last week both got double figures. Yeah I wouldn’t mind Aguero but sticking with Tekkers for this gameweek, the stats point to a decent return.

i think the next 4 fixtures and the form of the player of the last 2 league games (3 for midweek)
But I'm a bit patient with the pricey players (e.g. Ozil)

Point hits would be good if you feel that the players you would bring will have a higher chance of out scoring the ones you want to get rid of. A maximum of -4 for a certain week would be enough doing a -8 would be crazy, i think...

I have a speadsheet of the next 5 GW's and i list my players and their fixtures and highlight who I'd pick each week and tally up how many times they've been picked.
Then I list possible transfers in and see how many times I'd pick them ahead of others in my team.
I'm always patient on transfers and use the table and try not to spend points. I spent points on bringing Suarez in and captaining him when he scored 3 for example but wouldn't spend points on defenders or "ordinary" transfers

    GK Help:

I have Boruc (che) and Vorm (mci) in goal this week.

Have £0.0m to spend, 1 FT, and happy with the rest of my team. Would be good to bank £0.1m to upgrade McShane when needed.

Worth taking Vorm out for someone like Pantilimon?

If not Pants, any other options under £5.0m?

Your name kind of suggests who you should definitely have in your side. 😉

Perhaps take the risk and shift Ramsey if you don't want template. Perhaps Mirallas/Sess as both have fairly low ownership.
I have to say though having a couple of differentials is all well and good but just get your captain pick right as a priority. You'll need Suarez next 2 GW's for that.

Three PL game weeks over 8 days. I am at the equivalent of a free Sausage Roll from Greggs in excitement.

    Mignolet
    Koscielny / Johnson / Terry
    Ramsey / Morrison / Cabaye / Walcott
    Benteke (vc) / Agüero (c) / Suárez

Ah, shucks. Thanks man, truth be told I'm a bit embarrassed about featuring in that article though - Demi, Tim and Roscola have proper roles which make a big impact on the site and deserve a fanfare. I've agreed to do a bit of childishly simple checking and balancing on the Watchlist each week - it doesn't compare!

    Migs

    Evra – Coleman – Gibbs

    R Morrison – Hazard – Ozil – Sess

    Suarez - Rooney – Benteke (C)

    Bench – Clyne – B.Turner – Janusaj

**FInger cross i am not gonna jump on the Aguero train... hoping my rooney can stay par with him this week and will overtake during the next 4 tough fixture for Mancity vs Manutd**

I really want to remove janusaj now or upgrade some midfield/def... any idea?

Aguero, Suarez or Lukaku Captain this game week? I´m leaning towards Aguero since Man City is solid at home. But still Suarez against hull can pull the rabbit out of the hat. Lukaku also might have a good gameweek and should get a mention.

All great options in my opinion.

Aguero too productive at home to ignore though. A few of the Swans players will still be tired from last night and they've been nowhere near their best this season as it is.

Delighted to say I have all three and it's easy enough to captain the wrong one. But on home form, it's got to be Aguero - Man C's 17 goals in the their last three home games is incredible.

With Xmas frenzy coming it might be worth a 5th mid who could score more than 2 points. Can you afford Colback> RavMo?
      Alternatively you could do Brayford/Chester > Ward/Gabby/MOlsson/etc..

" Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is set to drop to the bench, with Fabricio Coloccini partnering Williamson in the middle."

Not so sure about this. I know Colo is symbolic for Newcastle, but ever since his red card, Yanga has actually been the best out of the three (Williamson, Yanga, Colo) and it would be pretty cruel and also quite dumb to drop him to bench when he is performing.

Not that it would matter to me, I don't have Newcastle defence anyway, nor has anybody who's above me in my ML.

I just hope Luna will still start on bench so that Baker can make those 60 minutes and get the clean sheet. I so fear it's Baker who will be dropped.

I'm Wanting to offlaod Ozil, do I go for Walcott or Oscar for the next few weeks?

Already have Hazard and Ramsey is my only other Arsenal cover. Guess it comes down to who has the better run of games up until the Jan WC.

In general the articles on fantasy football scout are really good. OK so maybe the urge to put out lots of articles means some of them are a bit ropey and lead the uninitiated in the wrong direction. But mostly they're interesting to read and contain a great many useful nuggets of information.

There's loads of detail on form, fixtures, rotation and almost anything else that might be useful to us. And at even the first hint that there may be an upturn in form for a player it seems to get mentioned in an article. Just off the top of my head, this week we've been pointed towards players as unlikely as Peter Crouch, Chris Brunt, Martin Olsson and Joel Ward.

The same high praise can't be directed to the RMT though. It might be a sophisticated model but all too often it's a case of garbage in garbage out. It's updated too late in the week to be much use and so far as the predictions are concerned they really are far too cautious and bland to be of any use whatsoever.

Not sure if you believe me? Here's some points per game data:

    aguero actual 8.25 (last 12) RMT 4.5 (next 7)
    suarez actual 10.4 (last 7) RMT 4.4
    giroud actual 6.3 (last 12) RMT 4.4
    rooney actual 6.4 (last 12) RMT 4.25

well thank goodness Giroud is as good as the others and I don't need to transfer him out...but putting sarcasm aside my actual weekly scores are way higher than the RMT predictions (typically 15-20% higher)...also hands up if you think Jonny Evans is the 48th best defensive option priced £5.5m or less...(and these are by no means the only things I could argue about)

I just find it's not hard to find dodgy or out of date predictions in the RMT every time I look at it

So it's time for the RMT team to grow a pair and put them on a wooden block under a sharp knife...sometimes there's going to be blood on the floor but at least we'd have some decent estimates that we can actually use

And I want them on Monday!!!
