The festive schedule starts to kick in now as we brace ourselves for the first of six sets of fixtures this month. Gameweek 14 gets underway this evening with Tony Pulis’ first home match in charge of Crystal Palace as Sam Allardyce’s Hammers roll up to Selhurst Park:

The new Eagles manager has a tough task on his hands – his side have scored just once in the last five Gameweeks, courtesy of our “Spot the Differential” pick Barry Bannan, though one goal against in the previous three signifies their recent resilience at the back.

Big Sam’s side roll up on the back of a 3-0 home thrashing of Fulham last weekend, which ultimately led to the dismissal of Martin Jol. Having failed to score in four of their six road trips, though, there is a fear tonight’s game has 0-0 written all over it – a result that would send the viewing public to sleep, perhaps, but one that would be widely accepted around these parts, with many anticipating clean sheet returns.

The team news is now in and sees the home side unchanged from Saturday’s trip to Norwich, with Cameron Jerome up top alongside Marouane Chamakh. West Ham make four alterations from the weekend, with Joey O’Brien, Razvan Rat, Ravel Morrison and Carlton Cole replacing Guy Demel, George McCartney, Matt Jarvis and Modibo Maiga.

As always on Matchdays, we’ve opened up our Dugout Discussion chatroom right up until the final whistle for those looking to get involved in a spot of real-time banter.

If Flanagan gets a cleanie as well that'd be an exceptional set of transfer for you.

Good to get a double cleanie anyway. First success for the scout picks with Ward...first of many I hope.

No probs, it was surreptitiously introduced but still has a little adjustment after the game so the BPS can change a little. Ignore the EA ESP points, only BPS determines them.

That's the point of the change. After Nov 22 they can now reprimand even if the ref did see it and give a yellow. We may not have heard the last of this as far as a RavMo ban is concerned.

Read the article in the link guys. This applies to violent conduct happening AFTER a challenge for the ball, and states the retrospective action can be given even though the referee did see the incident, but not all of it. Rooney´s offense would not be covered by this change, so no retroactive action could be taken against him, same with Mirallas.

No point regretting playing Ravel over someone else you benched. He was West Ham's main goal threat and was playing a side that until recently had been the joke of the league. It was understandable at the time. You wouldn't bench him for that.

But the rule came in on 22nd so that would be Mirallas, Roo and I assume the Medel incident occurred in the United match? Seems like this "ruling" has fallen on its arse.

torres was the clearest of them all. If that's not a ban then nothing is

No that is true but what I mean is Torres was before November 22nd right? So this rule was supposed to be brought in November 22nd so he couldn't be banned retrospectively (he was booked/sent off in that match wasn't he?) while the others could be.

Is there any chance that Mourinho will continue with Hazard, Oscar and Mata providing all 3 are fit ?

What I'm really trying to fathom out is whether or not to have Hazard and Mata both in my team. Mata wont really need any rest, he has hardly played.
