We scour the budget bracket ahead of this morning’s deadline in the hunt for some cut-price midfield inspiration. All three of our selected players are available for under the 6.0 and have some favourable fixtures this weekend and beyond to potentially take advantage of.

Pablo Hernandez

Back in the Swansea City fold after finally recovering from a thigh injury, the Spaniard has now started each of the last two for Michael Laudrup’s side. Hernandez’ class was more than apparent earlier in the season when he racked up 20 points over the first three Gameweeks before succumbing to a hamstring problem and, whilst he’s yet to produce any further returns, the former Valencia man has three kind-looking matches in the next five Gameweeks to get his season back up and running.

Up next for the Swans is a home clash against Hull tomorrow and, with Laudrup’s men scoring three or more in all but one of their last four at the Liberty, Hernandez’ endeavours on the left could prove to be the undoing of Steve Bruce’s side. With Norwich and Villa also on their agenda before the turn of the year, the Spaniard – coming in at 5.7 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), 6.5 in the Sky Sports game and 3.0 in the Sun Dream Team – looks a decent mid-price shout for those who reckon he can replicate his outstanding August form.

Nathan Redmond

Norwich’s summer signing first arrived on our radars back in Gameweek 3 after producing an 11 point return at home to Southampton. Redmond quickly found himself forced out of Chris Hughton’s starting line-up a couple of games later, but with first-choice wide men Anthony Pilkington and Robert Snodgrass both recently sidelined through injury, he’s grabbed his second chance with both hands.

Redmond’s pace on the flank has posed plenty problems for opponents of late and helped the wide man pick up an assist against both Newcastle and Liverpool over the last three Gameweeks. With five favourable fixtures in the upcoming six (wba, SWA, sun, FUL, cpl) Redmond – at 4.6 in FPL and in the Sky Sports game and 1.5 in the Sun Dream Team – is handed the chance to continue his recent impressive showings down the Canaries’ flanks.

Pajtim Kasami

The Fulham midfielder has offered a real consistency of game time which has proven almost unrivalled in the budget bracket. Coming in at just 4.5 in FPL (and 4.2 in the Sky Sports game), Kasami has started all but one of his side’s first 14 fixtures and, crucially, has been subbed off in just one of his 13 starts – back in Gameweek 5 away to Chelsea, with just six minutes left on the clock.

Significantly, Kasami has demonstrated a keen eye for goal which has already come to fruition twice, with strikes against Sunderland and Palace bolstering his cut-price appeal. With Martin Jol now gone and Rene Meulensteen at the helm, the Swiss international is poised for a kind run of matches which may well help him climb up the Fantasy rankings. A home game against Villa this weekend is supplemented by clashes against Norwich, Hull, West Ham and Sunderland in the next seven Gameweeks – suggesting that the upcoming run of matches will be critical to the new manager’s success.

Do minutes not worry people who are picking Aguero over Suarez for (c)?

I'd be tempted by Aguero but he consistantly gets 60-70 minites while Suarez plays the 90.. Can't see this being any different this weekend if they're 2 or 3 up with Bayern in the week.

I am leaning towards saving my transfer and doing the following moves next week (barring injuries):

    Ozil & Remy > Hazard & Lukaku

My original plan was to do Shaw > Ward or Brady > Brunt, but I really want Lukaku from next week on although Remy has good fixtures as well. Everton are just a much better team going forward...

This means playing both Chester and Brady this week.

    What would you do?

'John is the one that is playing a lot, in fact he's played every match in the Premier League, but he's not playing internationally, so while the other guys go to their national teams he's staying at the club and he can take care of himself and his body. That helps him to be so important and to play every game.'

I grabbed him to replace Janu as he just isn't regular enough. Although with Rooney suspended I assume Janu will start today.

That was what i was planning to do also, with the argument that Barkley might not start.

            I agree 🙁

But how likely is Barkley to start? If he was 100% to start, id go with him, but i doubt he is going to start :/

Resisting the rush for Gerrard, gonna opt for Nasri and then > Silva (any news ?). The template seems to be building and Silva will be the best differential big hitter away from that...thoughts ?

Wakey, as you're opting for Nasri, care to give me an argument why to prefer him to someone in my current lineup?

Tactical as much as anything else for me...My main rival had the great foresight to begin the season with Ramsey/Yaya and now has Gerrard/Morrison so i need to move away from his picks...Needles to say having started with Ramsey and Yaya he's in the top 1000 overall and i have a bit of catching up to do...Hazard and Silva for me when he's back and pin my hopes on City continuing as top scorers in the prem..but Nasri will do for now.

Okay. That doesn't precisely help me. Would you play him over someone in this lineup:

            Speroni
            Walker-Chico-Terry-Ward
            Amalfitano-Ramsey-Hazard
            Rémy-Aguero-Suarez

I just can't seem to get him in.

I think you should minimize losses and get Ramsey. Not having him is too much of negative differential.

Worry with Silva is he's been out a while so may not be sharp when he returns. Think Nasri is a solid pick though, seems a different player (or maybe just the player he used to be) under Pellegrini.

I think it is always wise, when player returns from an injury, to watch him for at least one game before buying him.

Silva is in my plans as well when he comes back, but the next few fixtures make me consider selling Nasri rather than buying him. Today seems okay, because Southampton is missing Boruc, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanayama and possibly Fonte, so they cannot hold that defence up so well. But after that I might sell Nasri. Even this round, I have hard time justifying playing him.

City will probably score in other difficult fixtures too, but I think the numbers will be so reasonably low that Aguero covers the City attacking return sufficiently. I'm still considering Arsenal match, because the schedule makes that a very favorable game for City and they tend to run riot at home. I don't think City will score 4 or 5, but I'm pretty confident on them scoring at least 2, which could well get Nasri to points.

Yeah...i', already heavily into a catch up situation so it has to be differentials...Ozil is the obvious one for me but his fixtures turn soon...

OKAY. crunch-time! Am I looking alright?

    Mignolet
    Mertesacker Terry Evans
    Ramsey Sessegnon Hazard Bannan
    Suárez (C) Agüero (VC) Remy

Subs: Gazzaniga RMorrison BTurner Vlaar. 2FTs 2.2M in the bank.

I'm doing Vlaar -> Gabbidon as I can't really see a way to improve the team noticeably this GW. Gives me 2 FTs to jump on Everton players for next GW. Thoughts?

If you still have Migs, why not keeping him for this round, but I would sell him next round for someone getting clean sheets.
