The early Saturday kick-offs are back and this one delivers an encounter which could bang a final nail in Man United’s title ambitions.

It seems premature and ridiculous to think that the champions could be out of the race before Christmas and yet, anything less than three points today with victories for City, Chelsea and Arsenal over the weekend, would surely leave David Moyes’ side floundering before the Turkey has been basted.

Newcastle can be dangerous opponents – they arrive at Old Trafford having had their four-match winning streak ruthlessly halted by Swansea in midweek. However, Alan Pardew’s side have weapons to hurt the United rearguard and a combative midfield who seem unlikely to surrender control to the home side.

Strangely, many Fantasy managers will struggle to find too much interest in this one. Although, with Wayne Rooney suspended, we can at least run the rule of Robin van Persie. The Dutchman makes a timely return to Moyes’ lineup having recovered from recent injury concerns. His introduction is one of seven changes as Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Adnan Januzaj and Javier Hernandez all come in. Chris Smalling, Ryan Giggs, Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini, Danny Welbeck and Shinji Kagawa miss out following Wednesday’s defeat to Everton. As for Newcastle, they make just one change – Vernon Anita is drafted in to bolster the midfield as Shola Ameobi drops to the bench.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up for this early clash and will remain available for your real-time requirements right through all today’s seven fixtures.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Newcastle's last 7 weeks;

    Concede 2 vs Sunderland
    Clean sheets vs Spurs and Chelsea
    Concede vs Norwich and West Brom at home
    Concede 3 to Swansea
    Clean sheet vs Man United away.

    WTF.

        Have to completely disagree with you. He can't single handedly win games for us.. there are too many issues elsewhere in the squad. When he plays he makes all the difference both going forward and tracking back.

            Much better squad depth than then.

            Being able to field a bench with Ben Arfa, Cisse, Yanga Mbiwa, Gutierrez and often Anita is a massive step up from then. French boys who arrived in January have settled in and starting to pay dividends.

              Yeah good point. And no Europa. Hard to decide whom to invest in as you can go very defensive when required. I guess it's got to be Cabaye.

      Another good away performance at OT however Moyes is contributing to these results. The place is normally a fortress and teams should fear going there but they no longer do. Moyes has to take responsibility for that.

      We have to many CDMs and not enough CM who are playmakers. We need to ditch Cleverly and (regrettably) Anderson. I woul sell Fellani but he has just come in. We also need to sell Young and Nani and maybe Valencia and use that money to buy two decent CMs and maybe a winger. We can sort our replacements for Vidic and Ferdi in the summer.
