We return to the Saturday cycle with six Premier League matches spanning our next seven hours. It all starts at Upton Park for the crunchiest of crunch matches as Big Sam’s West Ham host managerless West Brom in a bid to halt their alarmingly slide over the relegation trapdoor.

Let’s be honest, we’re not expecting fireworks and very few Fantasy managers will have too much invested in today’s early kick-off. Consider it an amuse-bouche – albeit a rather coarse and heavy one – as we prepare for today’s main dish with City and United in action come three o’clock.

The team news rather compounds matters – those still nursing Stephane Sessegnon hangovers (hello!) are disappointed once again as the Benin international only makes the bench as part of Keith Downing’s reshuffle. The Baggies caretaker boss makes six changes as Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Youssouf Mulumbu, Chris Brunt, Nicolas Anelka and Saido Berahino are all drafted in. Matej Vydra, Craig Dawson, Claudio Yacob and Morgan Amalfitano are benched after starting at Spurs, while Zoltan Gera and Steven Reid are left out of the matchday squad. Shane Long misses out again with a calf injury.

Hosts West Ham make two changes – one of them enforced as Razvan Rat comes in for the injured James Collins, presumably shifting George McCartney to centre-back. Elsewhere, Jussi Jaaskelainen benefits from Adrian’s blunder in the defeat to Arsenal to earn a recall between the sticks.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to steer your through the early kick-off and will remain available right through to the death at Cardiff this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No Rooney = Brunt off the bench. That should ease the damage of no C this week a little. Still a chance Dzeko feels a little under the weather before KO and Negredo starts

If you are in a panic and tearing your hair out because you have Yaya and Rooney, calm down and sellotape it back on.

Everyone is affected by rotation today. They will be tomorrow, too. You may even still come out on top once the dust settles.

Gald my captain is Rooney, and not Negredo/Yaya as the City guys still have the chance to come off the bench for 10/15 mins.

Although, as a Nasri owner, I hope he gets to come on with 30 remaining against a tired Palace to score a quick brace 😀

Actually gave good advice this morning for a change! Did Welbeck -> Dzeko and advised someone not to get Welbeck in as he may not start. Also told people not to captain Negredo! Might actually be the week where I catch up. Need a good one.

Do people honestly believe Moyes has rested Rooney? He specifically said Rooney would be needed for every game with RVP out. Groin strain so he wasn't risked. If he was rested, he'd be on the bench

I doubted this, but it's too logical

That being said I got away with bringing Rooney in before his last injury, will not be rushed into selling just yet.

Probably too quick a turnaround from the last game to risk the guy possibly tweaking his groin again. Plus, the way Rooney plays with such industry, that would only increase the possible re-injury risk perhaps.

Yeah I highly doubt he was rested. Must have had some sort of niggle which resulted in him not being fit for today. I'd imagine with such a short rest between games, playing with a slight injury would be very risky.
