With the frantic festive period now behind us, we can finally take stock and assess the statistics over the last few matches. Having last looked at the data in Gameweek 17, we have three sets of matches to investigate – Arsenal’s midfield, Tottenham’s attack and United and City’s frontmen are all placed under the microscope this time around:
-
Mig
Koscielny Coleman Evans Turner
Januzaj Hazard Cabaye
Suarez Lukaku Negredo
Bench - Boruc / Chester, Bannan, Ravel
2 Wild Cards left, £2.7m left
Use WC or FT?Open Controls -
I hate this rate my team thing but I just want a second opinion. Do I need to Wildcard this side.
Krul, Marshall
Sagna, Coleman, Fonte, Ward, B.Turner
Hazard, Walcott, Yaya, Remond, Ravel
Adebayor, Suarez, RooneyOpen Controls -
Aston Villa FC @AVFCOfficial 3m
Villa can confirm that Libor Kozak suffered a broken leg in training today.Open Controls-
Wow. Poor guy.
Open Controls -
Ouch. Poor bugger 🙁
Open Controls -
Poor guy
Open Controls -
Shame for him.. 🙁
LOL at his owner 😉Open Controls-
I had him in a draft league 🙁
Your comment is insulting!Open Controls
-
-
ffs like our season aint goin sh*t enough
Open Controls -
Jeez that's awful
Open Controls
-
So, regardless of whether you are WC yet or not, what are you thinking in terms of mids / Fwds?
Open Controls-
Haz, Silva, Wally, (Gerrard/Cabaye/Lallana, Cheapie)
Suarez, Aguero, (Rooney/Adebayor)Open Controls-
-
Yep if the 4th mid is Cabaye or Lallana. Need a pretty cheap defense though
Open Controls
-
-
-
Gerrard, Silva, hazard, Walcott, mid price
Suarez, Aguero, Cardiff striker dependant on oleOpen Controls-
haz oscar/silva yaya walcott januzaj
suarez aguero JrodOpen Controls -
-
i hope so, otherwise it makes you wonder why on earth we bought him
Open Controls-
For moodys offshore account to get a boost?
Open Controls
-
-
He's supposed to be a big fan, but was at united when Campbell was so know him. Could even buy in again.
He's a much more offensive minded manager and likely to play on front foot which we've not done enough of so could be a few 3-3s out thereOpen Controls
-
-
-
Dead Certs: Suarez, Aguero, Theo, Silva, Cabaye, Whittingham
Then unsure whether to go Rooney + Mid-priced mid or Mid-priced striker + HazardOpen Controls -
-
suarez - aguero - lukaku for me, haz, silva, Walcott these 6 for sure with 1 cheapie and someone in the 6-7m range my TV is quite poor
Open Controls -
Silva, Hazard, Walcott, Lallana, Jedinak
Suarez, Adebywhore & Agueroooooooooo !!!!Open Controls -
I like 3-4-3 still, bps favours forwards better
At least 3 big hitters in midfield with maybe a rotating 4th midOpen Controls
-
-
Bench one please
Januzaj (SWA)
Sterling (sto)
Cabaye (MCI)?Open Controls -
After such a disastrous week, I would normally either take a few hits or WC, but I'm sure in seasons gone by, every time I've done such a thing, I've regretted it, so I think I'm gonna ride it out, watch all the price rises with trepidation, and give the like of Negredo and Rooney another chance and hope they repay my faith!
Open Controls-
newcastle defence is in bits so negredo might do well. not sure about rooney, he might not even play
Open Controls -
-
also think I might do Rooney > Ade depending on reports from both clubs over the next 6 days
Open Controls-
Rooney has 10 days rest then home to Swansea, sort of quite pleased everyone is getting rid....turning him into a differential.
Open Controls
-
-
-
I've left Hazard far too late, all I can hope for now is a dip in form.
Open Controls -
In your opinion do Man City realistically have a good chance of beating Barca?
Open Controls-
yes. beat bayern with their second team
Open Controls-
Had Bayern just given up having thought at 2-0 they had it won?
Open Controls
-
-
Stick a few past them at the Etihad and there's no reason why not. Barca have a pretty poor defence
Open Controls -
nah . but they will make them suffer a lot
Open Controls -
Yeah I think it's about 50/50 really.
Barca are good, they are no longer great.Open Controls
-
-
bringing in Dempsey this week. Have the choice of selling Navas or Cabaye. Money isnt a factor as i will be using my wildcard the week after. Which one would you sacrifice?
Open Controls -
clyne likely to be a starter soon ?
45 mins v chelOpen Controls -
Good to go on w/c?
Mannone Marshall
Merts, Ward, Chester, Coleman, Burner
Erikson, Theo, Gerrard, Silva, Hazard
Suarez, Aguero, Jrod
Gerrard or Oscar?Open Controls-
-
That's what I thought cheers fella
Open Controls
-
-
Wow - what a midfield !…..but your mids will play against each other a lot 😉
Upgrade a defender and downgrade Erik or Stevie G ?Open Controls-
Thanks mate. Pretty happy with it tbh but I get what you are saying though. I could maybe downgrade Stevie and that would allow me to maybe double up on Arsenal def or maybe get in a pool / city defender at a push.
Eriksen and Jrod rotate pretty well until the end of the season as well.Open Controls

Am I mental to be considering this WC team? It's a 3-5-2 with 5 budget rotating defs, and a non-playing forward:
Marshall, Mannone
Turner, Chester, Whittaker, Bardsley, Gabbidon
Walcott, Gerrard, Silva, Hazard, Eriksen
Rooney, Suarez, Berahino
Money in the bank for Roo -> AgueroOpen Controls -
-
Jrod even lambert maybe, adebayor/soldado, lukaku
Open Controls
-
so Mert vs Kos ?
I got mert at 5.5 so the swap would free up 0.5 and they seem to get very similar BPS scoresOpen Controls -
-
Evans & Yaya or Baines/Coleman & Cabaye?
Last dilemma!Open Controls -
-
-
-
until next week
Open Controls
-
Speroni (Lewis)
Kosc Terry Clyne (Burner Distin)
Hazard Walcott Yaya Sterling (Morrison)
Rooney Lukaku Suarez
1FT and 0.7million in the bank
What should I do? (Plan on keeping WC until probably the last week)
A) Morrison -> Somebody rising. (Barkley?)
B) Save my transfer.
C) Play my WC?Open Controls -
how long has FFS league been the best league in FPL?
Open Controls -
WC tinkering...madness...?
Marshall
Alcaraz - Koscielny - Burner
Walcott - Gerrard - Yaya - Lallana - Hazard
Rooney - Suarez
--------------------------------------------------------------
Mannone - Huddlestone - Chester - WardOpen Controls -
The real question on the 3-5-2 debate is
Are strikers like JRod or Hooper
a) Too expensive/good to bench
b) Too cheap to play every week
If you want a proper 3-5-2 like last season maybe just get a Berahino/Chamakh type striker?Open Controls-
ask yourself why you picked em....... was it to have the dream midfield or was it because they are undervalued strikers with form and fixtures
Open Controls-
possibly both
They allow me to have Ozil, Hazard, Silva, and Walcott in the midfield, with a budget mid
Or you leave him benched and have say Eriksen and LallanaOpen Controls-
so what youve left yourself with is a headache, bet your bottom dollar that you bench a lot of points that way.....
352 really should be done with a cheapie striker you dont mind benchin like a sagboOpen Controls

berba to gunners
Open Controls -
Joey Obrien in my gw24 wc team nice fixtures hope he gets some attacking stuff like last season
Open Controls-
great pick, west ham defender 😆

I'd sort of promised myself that I wouldn't do a RMWCT, but can anyone see any obvious flaws in the below?
McGregor - Mannone (or any 8.9m combo)
Coleman - Kosc - Burner - Brown - Chester
Hazard - Coutinho - Walcott - Silva - Jedinak
Suarez - Adebayor - Aguero (Rooney placeholder)
Zero left in the bank.
Was thinking about holding the WC but that's quite a tempting team to hit the button for! (Obviously this depends on Adebayor's injury status)Open Controls -
Rooney and Glen J out for Baines and Welbeck worth a hit? Cheers for the advice
Open Controls -
Open Controls
-
Wildcarding....
The way my team is shaping up it's either going to be
a) Lukaku & a 5.0-5.5 Midfielder prefably one that rotates with another cheap Mid
OR
b) Ramsey/Cabaye/Eriksen priced player & a 6.0-6.5 Forward
Really not sure which one is better.Open Controls-
Puncheon and Lukaku? Not sure who he rotates with though
Open Controls
-
-
4 big (ish) defenders ftw. 2 little mids, 3 top strikers. flick between 433 and 343.
Open Controls-
Zab, Kos, Coleman, Azpi?
Open Controls-
nasty ftw. think of that 0.9 as the difference between having koscielny and phil bardsley
Open Controls
-
-
hmm could be risky, i always find the 433 disappoints......plus which biggy do you rest when 343
Open Controls-
maybe i've just been lucky but this season its been great for me, having 4 big ones to choose from each time. midfielders can score and still be matched by a defender with just a clean sheet, find those clean sheets easier get/predict too
Open Controls
-
-
-
not great, not really taking notice of the prices
Open Controls
-
-
-
Who will go up more in value over this game week:
A) Barkley
B) Januzaj
C) SidwellOpen Controls-
Or even Lukaku -> adebayor
