He was playing further back than either FB, and behind Lucas most times, although he did take corners and (obviously) remains on PK's
Is this a precaution, due to his 2nd game returning from injury?
Or was is more a matchup decision, since he's a decent tackler and this was the angle Brendan Rodgers played against Stoke?
(yes I know they shipped 3 and it didn't work, if that's the case)

1. Gerrard will play a more withdrawn role going forwards I reckon. Hasn't got the legs anymore, and with sturridge fit and courtinho and sterling playing well he doesnt need to drive the attack as much anymore.

TBH Stevie G has been getting less attacking for quite some time now...he will still score a lot of points as he is class and on dead ball kicks but I think his days of streaming into the box maybe over.

I should also note that the Wilshire yellow cost me 115 Euro as I had a ten Euro treble on Ars win, less than 10 corners and less than 4 yellows.
