We dig into the weekend data now, with the first of our weekly articles for members. Under the radar this time are City’s Spanish frontman, the Cardiff midfield, Everton’s full-backs, Sunderland’s wide-boy and the new role for Liverpool’s captain:
-
A good development feature for this site, would be the ability to create polls e.g. Baines or Coleman which could then sit on the side bar, much like the Captains poll for example Linked In has one in it's side bar, with one of 1000's of polls showing, when you vote on one it takes you to the polls page and you can vote on as many as you like.
Open Controls-
I like this idea. I prefer proper conversations about FPL as opposed to the A or B posts.
Open Controls-
Might free it up a bit alright but for people like me it's the reasons I want not just simply A or B. I want to know why they chose one over the other.
Open Controls
-
-
What benefit would this be?
It would only show peoples personal preference or budget constraints. It wouldn't actually add anything to the discussions which will still take place in the forum.Open Controls-
Do you ever look at teh Captains poll, it's jsut like that. There are hundreds of posts that are simply Baines or Coleman, Kos or Merte, Silva or Yaya etc etc etc. So that would give people who jsut want an a b or c answer what they are lookign for. Before the Captains poll existed there were 1000's of who to captain posts which have disappeared but there are still discussions about the right captain.
Open Controls-
Nah, never use the captains poll.
Too shallow for my liking.Open Controls

I was just wondering (because my internship is boring as hell :D) if any of guys posting here won any prize in FPL?

WC draft:
Mannone
Azpilicueta - Coleman - Gibbs
Cabaye - Hazard - Ozil - Silva
Adebayor - Aguero - Suarez
Pickford - Pozuelo - Chester - Ward
Bank = 0
Thoughts?Open Controls-
I'm not sure I'd be bringing Adebayor in on a WC with the likes of Giroud, Sturridge & Negredo around at the moment
Open Controls-
Why not downgrade Ozil to Ramsey and play Ward this week? Giving you the cash to upgrade Ade
Open Controls-
-
I think Ade has better fixtures going forward than the rest of them. I'll be getting him in before Feb and ditching for GW30. Giroud has a truly horrible run but then again he does play with Arsenal so you'd still expect them to score

Good team. Gibbs might be a rotation risk with Monreal though, swap him for Kosicleny.
Open Controls-
Monreal looks like he's out for 6-8 weeks with this foot injury, so I'd say Gibbs was a good option if you're strapped for cash... that said, I'd prefer Kosc

Navas for Silva and Giroud for Adebayor is a good option.

With Walcott injured, Giroud knackered, Arteta injured and CL/FA cup leading to more injuries/fatigue, Arsene will surely bring in a forward. I think it will be 1) out and out striker 2) winger who can play up front 3) maybe even both of the above What do you think and how will this affect Ramsey? especially for those holding a midfield spot for himOpen Controls-
Interesting rumour is Holtby to Schalke to enable Draxler to Arsenal. Just like Bale to Madrid enabled Ozil to Arsenal.
Open Controls -
Managers always seem to say how difficult it is to bring in top players in January, especially strikers. The only top player available in England is Mata, so I think it would have to be a player in a similar position abroad to come over for it to be a threat to Ramsey.
Open Controls -
I can't see a forward being brought in - Wenger will want to give Sanogo/Park their bench roles as and when they are fit or deserve it. Podolski has been lauded recently by Wenger as a great finisher and Bendtner has been getting minutes. The Draxler rumour is the most exciting for me - if he comes in who misses out? Can't rotate forever

Sturridge to Giroud to give you Arsenal cover this week... and Whittaker/Chester can come in as sub if Ramsey's unavailable, both of which have a decent chance of a clean sheet

To be honest i dont think tottenham will get much out of that game. Swansea are a team who have large chunks of possession at home. That first half vs Manu just showed how they can play a team out of a game. They've played ok but have had bad results. Tottenham on the other hand have had good results but have played pretty average. That first half vs Palace was disgraceful for a team playing at home. Playing a 4-4-2 they tend to lose possession far too often and find it difficult to regain it. I can see them struggling with adebayor dropping deeper to help out in midfield. They've had an easy run and i have a feeling they'll be found out over the next couple of fixtures. Even the spurs fans on their forums are not convinced about their performances

Does anyone else think its very stupid for a manager ie. Moyes to be seen at a game scouting players? He was at the Juventus looking at only he knows. But as he was seen it gives all the crap red top papers ammo to make up bull like " pogba snubs 50m utd offer" courtesy of the Irish Daily star thus putting more pressure on utd when they don't sign these player's that they probably did not even bid for?
Open Controls-
Moyes won't have gone there without having studied numerous scouting reports.
It's good for the image too. Gives the impression that Moyes/MUN are possibly looking to spend.
And indicates to the current MUN players that they need to start performing.Open Controls -
Aye but if you were a football manager and could get away with spending your Sunday in Sardinia watching Juventus play... you'd be patting yourself on the back!
Open Controls -
I can understand if a manger of a big club does this to players of a smaller club as it could unsettle the player but in this case I don't think it's done Moyes any favours unless he knows the player(s) he wants are interested in coming to United
Open Controls -
Happened to Fergie when he watched a Dortmund game with Lewandowski to United rummors turns out it was Kagawa going to United.
Open Controls -
The fact that the game was in Gagliari, I would assume means he is watching a Cagliari player. Astori came up. He then went to see Bordeaux v PSG, clearly more chance of geting a Bordeaux player
The talk of Pogba is just funny. Everyone knows its not true....and like we'd sell Vidal! loooooooollOpen Controls

I'd lose Gnabry, as it takes up an Arsenal spot... you might want Ramsey or Giroud for example
Open Controls-
Noted, thanks. Not much in the price range... any suggestions?
Open Controls-
Pozuelo... Swansea decent fixtures and seems to have worked his way into the team
That said, I'm probably never gonna play my £4.2m midfielder so it doesn't matter too much... had Jedinak earlier in the season, played him twice, got me 4 points, so I don't think it's a game changer!Open Controls

Morning guys,
My first RMWCT post of the season, so please be gentle with me. Was planning on waiting until GW24 to WC, but am now worried about price rises.
Current team:
McGregor
Coleman / Koscielny / Shaw
Hazard / Cabaye / Özil / Mirallas
Suárez / Sturridge / Negredo
Speroni / Chester / Kim Bo-Kyung / Burner
WC team:
Boruc
Coleman / Koscielny / Clyne
Hazard / Ramsey / Lallana / Silva
Suárez / Giroud / Agüero
McGregor / Chester / Kim Bo-Kyung / McCartney
Do it? Or not?Open Controls-
I like your existing team
Open Controls -
I have a similar team (don't we all) and am asking myself the same question. Do as I say not as I do... so FT out Cabaye for Lallana, get yourself a little rise to think on it and wait until Aguero has cleared the Blackburn game before doing anything
Open Controls -
I would hold. Your team looks strong. Only player I would be eager to ship out is Burner, and his your 3rd substitute. Most of your players are those that people bring in with their wildcard.
I would probably just do Burner -> Parr/Ward and play him and Speroni.Open Controls -
The current team still can go through this GW.
But if price rises is a worry then go for it.Open Controls-
Thanks guys. Really appreciate it (even though I'm still not sure what to do!).

I was wondering if 3 big defenders with 2 cheapies at the back is the way forward, or 2 biggies with 3 cheap ones.
My TV is horribly low, 103.5 SV.
Here's my draft with 3 biggies at the back.
Boruc/Davies
Baines TERRY Koscielny Chester Ward
Hazard Lallana Ramsey ERIKSEN MUTCH
Sturridge Suarez Aguero
My draft with 2 big ones at the back:
Boruc/Davies
Baines BROWN Koscielny Chester Ward
Hazard Lallana Ramsey KI JANUZAJ
Sturridge Suarez Aguero
So, its basically Terry, Ki, Januzaj vs Brown, Eriksen and Mutch.
The latter has better PPG, the difference being 1.32.
If you factor in Eriksen's PPG under Sherwood, its quite high, but the sample size is very small, and it wouldn't be fair to include those.
It might not be that helpful, but anyway, I thought of sharing it with you all. I know the results will be different for everyone with TV and choices being different..Open Controls-
So what you're saying is:
A) TERRY ERIKSEN MUTCH
B) BROWN KI JANUZAJ
I'd go AOpen Controls-
+1
Open Controls
-
I knew I had messed it up!
First has Brown and second has Terry.
Its Terry, Ki and Januzaj vs Brown Eriksen and MutchOpen Controls-
In that case, someone else instead of Brown and you're good. Say, can you have Bardsley or Alonso?
Open Controls -
That's tough. B-T-M.
Just because I'm not a big fan of Januzaj. Think he'll get a lot of time on the bench.Open Controls-
Well the difference between PPG of Eriksen-Mutch-Brown over Terry-Ki-Januzaj is over 1.3. That's almost 25 points from now until the season, and the form of Eriksen and Brown look to be going up, Sunderland looking better and Eriksen involved so much..

Hazard | Lallana | Silva | Jajuzaj | Colback

0.8M in bank!
1. upgrade Chester
2. upgrade Colback
3. save money
Please suggest..
Thanks!Open Controls-
Upgrade Williamson, then you can play 3 good defenders each week
Open Controls-
Ward is a good defender for the next couple

BREAKING NEWS:
I will be activating my wildcard tomorrow.
That is all.Open Controls -
Hi everyone,
Here's my potential wildcard team:
Marshall (Mannone)
Mertesacker, Coleman, Clyne, Ward, Chester
Hazard, Silva, Ramsey, Lallana, Colback
Suarez, Aguero, Sturridge
This would leave me with 0.5 mill in the bank. Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
Cheers 🙂Open Controls-
I always worry about Colback's gametime but other than that it is great...
Open Controls
-
Which combo would you prefer?
A) Kolarov & Giroud
B) Bardsley & SturridgeOpen Controls -
In order to get Aguero in for next week should I
a) Do Negredo -> Aguero, Howard -> Cheapie (got Boruc) (-4)
b) Wildcard
Part of me is annoyed about having to get Aguero before two tough games just to avoid massive price rises...Open Controls-
c) stick with Negredo, then WC next week if you have to
Open Controls -
He won't rise too much if he blanks at Cardiff (the only way I see this happening is if he for some reason starts on the bench).
Open Controls -
Thanks guys - not a massive fan of taking hits - plus would have liked a punt on Bony

Just thought I'd come on here to express my disappointment about rumours surrounding Southampton football club today. It appears that Katharina Liebherr, who inherited the club after her father's death, has a strained relationship with our chairman Cortese and apparently the relationship has finally hit the point of no return. A severance package is being drawn up for him. That means Pochettino will probably follow him out of the door, as he promised to do out of loyalty last time Cortese's future was discussed, and it'll all come tumbling down. Further rumours suggest that KL may want to cash in on selling the club and, considering what little involvement she's had with the club, I can't see her being that picky if she thinks she's been offered a fair price.
All a rumour at the moment but the precise nature of the details doesn't fill me with hope.
Those Saints players we all have may not be such a sound investment in a couple of weeks time.Open Controls-
🙁 .. Sad news indeed.
Open Controls-
You get used to these rocky times when you've been down to League One and back. I enjoyed the good times, I guess that's what's important!
Open Controls-
As usual, we're talking about the boardroom rather than the pitch. Ridiculous that there has to be all this drama. Fingers crossed it's not the worst case scenario for Southampton.
Open Controls
-
-
-
If true, that's a disaster, Lucible 🙁
I can understand if KL doesn't want to continue but why dismiss a wildly successful chairman out of personal spite if she wants to sell on anyway? I hope for the fans' sake that she can be persuaded that the club is worth more to sell with Cortese and Pochettino in place.Open Controls-
I don't understand any of it. Pretty devastated 🙁
Open Controls-
I remember when Southampton was a small successful public company that returned dividends, small profits and retained it's top league status. All whilst being at the Dell.
There have been sad and devious goings on there since. I feel for you and all Saints fans Lucible.
I hope someone can see the potential and buy it. Nice if it was an English firm.Open Controls

What does the protected beside terry mean on total fpl. Why did he not rise??
Open Controls-
Price protection means the price won't change until it's removed.
Normally it's for players returning from injury (red flag).Open Controls
-
-
Bah, Negredo's NTI is starting to fall. Was hoping I could get a price rise out of him before the deadline but it looks like Aguero will easily rise before him.
Open Controls-
Listing in today's NTI order on TotalFPL, how on earth can Aguero be on about 4.5k in when there is only about 300 negative NTI players? Surely it should all be about the same....?
