Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are back in full training ahead of United’s clash with Cardiff. Roberto Martinez has worries over three defensive regulars, Aaron Ramsey returns for Arsenal, West Ham’s defensive problems ease, whilst Yohan Cabaye edges towards a move to PSG:

Manchester United have received a welcome boost after key duo Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney both returned to full training following thigh and groin injuries respectively. The pair are in contention to feature against Cardiff, along with fit-again Marouane Fellaini and new recruit Juan Mata.

Yohan Cabaye looks poised to swap Tyneside for the French capital, after reports suggest Newcastle have agreed a fee with PSG for his services. The Magpies will be without Papiss Cisse against the Canaries due to a back problem, whilst Yoan Gouffran is also expected to miss out.

In yesterday’s team news bulletin, Arsene Wenger revealed that Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen were all back in the squad for Arsenal’s trip to St Mary’s. Jack Wilshere is a doubt for the trip to the South Coast, though, after picking up an ankle problem in the cup victory over Coventry at the weekend. The Arsenal boss also suggested that fellow midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not yet fully fit, after returning from injury last week.

Ahead of the Merseyside derby, Roberto Martinez is monitoring several players, including the defensive trio of Seamus Coleman, Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka, with the latter’s withdrawal at the weekend being a precautionary measure. Winger Gerard Deulofeu is expected to be available for the Gameweek 25 trip to Spurs a week on Sunday.

West Ham’s defensive problems have eased with Big Sam revealing that Winston Reid is back in training for the first time following several weeks out through injury. However, the New Zealand international won’t be considered for the London derby with Chelsea in midweek, though both George McCartney and Joey O’Brien have recovered from recent injuries for the Stamford Bridge showdown.

West Brom have mixed injury news ahead of the Midlands derby, with Pepe Mel revealing that Gareth McAuley has returned to full fitness after missing the Everton clash with a hamstring injury. Stephane Sessegnon will be sidelined for a month as he undergoes minor surgery to cure a groin problem.

Brendan Rodgers will check on Joe Allen’s fitness ahead of the Merseyside derby, after the midfielder missed the weekend cup win over Bournemouth with a hamstring problem. The Liverpool boss ruled out Mamadou Sakho once more, suggesting that the defender is still “two to three weeks away” from a return.

Victor Wanyama could make his comeback from injury against the Gunners, with Mauricio Pochettino confirming the midfielder has been in training for over a week. The midfielder may get “some minutes” but Rickie Lambert will be assessed after missing the cup victory over Yeovil with a hamstring complaint.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tonight’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

    Boruc (K.Davis)
Terry Coleman Sagna (M. Olsson, Chester*)
    Cabaye Ozil Hazard (Pozuelo) Eriksen
    Aguero Suarez Adebayor

Need to get Cabaye out but off the main options floated, can only afford Ramsay, Mirallas, A. Johnson and Hendersen (got 7.2m to spend).

    A) Will Ramsay start this week? (won't have time to check teamsheets when they come out)
    B) Who would you pick?
    C) Any justifiable left field suggestions?

    Cheers

I don't think Ramsey will start but long-term he's probably the best pick if you've got good bench cover this week

Agreed that Ramsay long term is the best option. Weighing up whether to go someone risky for a week (like A.Johnson) with the potential for Ramsay to rise in price next week and be unable to afford him or play it safe with the view to maybe bringing in Mata if he finds his form from 2 years ago. Will start M.Olsson with Coleman out leaving me only Pozuelo as cover even though he is playing Swansea... leaving me with another alternative:

Bring in Ramsay and start him or bring him in and bench him (seems a bit redundant :?)

Haven't drafted one up yet but I have a bit of notions and views in mind as to what it'll look. like. Other than the essentials and main ones such as Aguero, Suarez, etc, I still need to work out the other half of it.

Yourself? I suppose you've already drafted one up and most likely will stick with it?

Oh, 😆 I think I answered one of your posts today when you posted that draft. Still sticking with Kolarov?

I mean, personally, I feel he'll eventually be replaced or in heavy rotation with Clichy some time in the near future, and also that City are amongst the victims that conceded an amount of goals. I thought Koscielny for Arsenal would have been a solid cover for you - you no likey?

Maybe he has a bench that can handle Coleman being injured for a few games! Thus leaving him with a player that should outscore mert over the rest of the season if he keeps playing the way he is.

Just replacing Cabaye after his transfer (aargh!) - can't decide between the safe option of Lallana, or the risky option of Willian. Thoughts? The rest of my team reads:

    Mata vs Rooney?

I feel that Rooney will outscore Mata in the longterm but is he worth the extra £1.8m?

Add to that the fact that there seems to be a lot more options up front compared to midfield with Cabaye gone, Ramsey only coming back, Silva and his constant niggles to name but a few.

    Any thoughts?

Mata has a lot of potential. He was one of the highest scoring FPL players while he was at Chelsea, I think he will do very well for United, particularly if he's playing up front with Van Persie, Rooney and Januzaj.

    Mannone (Adrian)
    Kosc Kolarov Ward
    Januzaj Hazard Lallana Ozil
    Aguero Giroud Suarez(C)
    (Pozeulo)(Coleman)(Chester)

Got one FT. Which option is best?
    A) Ozil > Mata (providing he's starting)
    B) Giroud > Bony
    C) save FT
    D) Swap chester for another cheapie

    Thanks

I'd take Mata or save the FT.

Damn, I've been telling everybody that the deadline is 19:30, as opposed to the usual 11:30, while I sat here for a good 10 minutes waiting for the lineup. What a let down.

There are 3 different players, no need to name the entire team twice.
      I'd definitely go the first.

I think the team dynamic needs assessing tho hence the full squad being named...

A gives you in-form Erikkson and Bony (good home fixtures)
B gives me the option of Ramsey in and keeping Spurs cover (downgrade Merte to Kos)

        still undecided

Hmm, it turns out the £1m price difference between AJ and Lallana make my WC team unaffordable with Lallana.

So in that case, I need a 5th mid that isn't Ki. Cardiff mids are making me wary now, so might steer clear of Noone and Mutch, and it turns out there aren't that many options.

    I think I'm 0.1 short of Barkley

Yet another RMWCT, 0.1m in bank

    Mannone / Adrian

    Terry / Koscielny / Kolarov / Gabbidon / Bruce

    Hazard / Mata / Eriksen / Ramsey / Gnabry

    Suarez / Aguero / Sturridge

At the moment I'm unsure on Kolarov due to rotation risk, but not sure who I would replace him with. Possibly Vlaar to have a bit of cash in the bank. If Ramsey doesn't start I'll probably bring in AJ for this week.

      not keen on
      Adrian (not first choice)
      Kolarov (rotation nightmare)
      Gnabry (not likely to start)
Suarez and Sturridge is too much imo.

I may upgrade Adrian and downgrade Kolarov to be sure of gametime.

Gnabry is unlikely to get into my 11 anyway but he is my choice of a 4.2m

Also happy to play SAS for the next few GWs knowing I can switch Sturridge if the likes of Bony, Benteke or Ade are outscoring him

        Cheers for your advice

Gnarby won't get anywhere near the team when ramsey, wilshire, ox are all fit. Waste of an arsenal spot imo.
