With Chelsea’s win at the Etihad bringing Gameweek 24 to its conclusion, we delve into the data once again. Stoke’s midfield goal hero, West Ham’s target man, United’s fit-again frontmen and the knock-on effect Liverpool’s downturn in possession has had on a certain Uruguayan all come under our analysis this time around:
-
Kolarov and Chester. Keep or swap. If swap, then for who? Rest of DF - Koscielny Ward Coleman.
Cheers! 🙂Open Controls-
Looking at ManC fixtures kolarov looks good so I's keep as he appears first choice but always some rotation going on there anyway.
If you swappped a defender i'd advise to get a chelsea defender in as they are looking really strong defensively now like the old mourinho teams and they all have some attacking potential as we saw with ivanovic vs City.Open Controls

for next gameweek*
Flanagan could give immediate returns against FulhamOpen Controls-
Liverpool defense just always seem to leak a goal for no reason from an individual error and its made them hard to choose for defensive returns this season. usually liverpool have had one of the strongest defenses for the last several years but this year they seem to miss the regular CB playing together.

What do people think of Nolan without carroll feeding him then? Can nolan do anything without carroll supplying him?
Open Controls-
No, look at the rest of the season when Carroll was absent for your answer. Without Carroll he's pretty useless and I'm surprised he's still captain after the Fulham away game.
Open Controls
-
-
Time to part ways with Kolarov?
Open Controls -
What should be my priority for this GW?
A) Chester -> Fabio/any other 4.2 or below
B) Adebayor -> Dzeko
C) Szczesny -> Mannone/BorucOpen Controls -
what's the verdict guys?
boruc
kolarov ward bardsley
hazard mirallas januzaj sterling
suarez sturridge bony
davis sagna coleman ki
5.6m in bank..
A. bony + januzaj -> rvp + 4.5m MF (-4pts)
B. bony -> rooney
C. bony + coleman -> rvp + 5m DF (-4pts)
behind in minileagues so rvp captain could make all the difference, my fear with rooney is that he wont play up front in away gamesOpen Controls-
Save the transfer. Janu to Ki. Man United not guaranteed will win.
Open Controls-
fulham have conceded 27 goals in their last 9 games, so 3 on average.. away at a fully fit united attack, who already beat them 3-1 away this season, i don't see how you can't fancy rooney or rvp, unless i'm missing something? not being an ass, just curious! 🙂

I read on here yesterday that Evans is out for a few weeks but no source, sorry
Open Controls -
Yeah news on Evans would be nice, preferrably before Azpi rises
Open Controls

I'm a stranger to this time in the DZ
Open Controls -
Always amuses me when you come on here about to ask advice on how to fit a player into your team and the last few posts are people trying to get rid of said player!
I want Kolarov, great fixtures and seems first choice, only downside is rotation risk.Open Controls -
Adel Taraabt set to play in the Champions League 😯
Open Controls -
Curious what's the best team one can come up with players not in the Watchlist?
Open Controls-
Keepers don't count. There are 13.
Cahill Azpi Shaw Olsson Hull defender
Willian Snodgrass Ince Coutinho Oscar
Rooney Jelavic MitrogluOpen Controls -
Rooney Torres Jelavic up front
Open Controls

Who would you play out of this backline? (only want 3)
Kolorov,Coleman,Ward,Fonte
All favorable fixtures apart from Coleman...but it's ColemanOpen Controls -
Koscielny has served me well, but with the upcoming fixtures I'd be crackers to not transfer him to Azpi (or similar), right?
Open Controls-
Depends on the rest of your team. Arsenal don't have goals in them, so expect them to resort to defensive solidarity to pull out results.
Having said that, I'd prefer Azpi over Kosc, but ideally you want defensive cover from both teams.Open Controls-
Interesting point. Perhaps I'm best to keep Kosc and transfer Giroud to Benteke (etc).
So do you plan on keeping Kosc?Open Controls-
Definitely. I reckon they'll continue to keep the clean sheets.
Open Controls-
But their fixtures...their fixtures are awful! The members area ticker shows so many red fixtures it scares me. I like your confidence though, cheers for your thoughts.
Open Controls-
It's alright until GW29. Maybe bench Kosc this week, but beyond that I expect 2-3 CS in the next 4. Decent returns that.

Did the move last night and feel pretty good about it. Chelsea look great at the back and have better fixtures so it was an easy call for me to make
Open Controls-
Cheers. I think I'll end up doing the same. Could always get Kosc back for Evans in future if needed (thought paying his current price would make me sick)

surely RVP is a better option?
Open Controls

For those of you that believe in fixtures, here's my best guess at the likelihood of the GW29 fixtures being played:
WHM hul 50%
CPL sot 50%
NEW eve 50%
CAR ful 50%
LIV sun 30%
MCI avl 20%
ARS swa 10%
CHE tot 10%Open Controls-
Why is Che Tot so low, when Spurs have been knocked out? You reckon Chelsea have 90% chance of defeating City at the Etihad? 😉
Open Controls-
Tottenham have to get knocked out of the Europa league for this fixture to be played. . . best guess
Open Controls-
Europa/CL is midweek and FA Cup is in the weekend.

anybody else seriously consdiering doing Suarez to Sturidge to accomodate RVP and a monster midfield - or is it just me?
Open Controls-
Choosing RVP over Suarez is borderline mental 😉
Open Controls-
I hear you. Everybody is telling me the same......
Just got a feeling that RVP is going to go on a monster run and struridge is already stealing Suarezs thunder and more importantly points.Open Controls-
Very expensive punt if any.
This isn't the same RVP from 1-2 seasons ago. You'd be lucky to get a run of injury free 4-5 games from him. I'd only do this if you have nothing to lose 🙂Open Controls-
you mean the RVP who scored in consecutive matches and could have had a few more despite playing only 60ish minutes in each game, being off form, and a tactically clueless Moyes providing no creation to supplement his play?
Open Controls-
How many RVPs are there?
Open Controls-
😆
Open Controls
-
-
That's the one 😉 Not fit to tie Luis' boot laces
Open Controls -
You're right, and you've backed that up by captaining him. Nice work. However, you also have Suarez and Sturridge. You weren't prepared to drop Suarez to fund RVP. It's the dropping Suarez part in addition to United's problems that make this a risky punt.
Open Controls-
"This isn't the same RVP from 1-2 seasons ago. You'd be lucky to get a run of injury free 4-5 games from him. I'd only do this if you have nothing to lose"
Open Controls-
"I'd only do this if you have nothing to lose". As in, transfer Suarez to RVP. Anyway, not having a dig. I actually hope you're right, lord knows we need RVP to continue scoring despite the other factors.
Open Controls-
his whole premise is built on the fact that RVP won't do well when I've explained that he's already shown how capable he is after no comfort time to bed in.
😉
I think we'll smash FulhamOpen Controls-
Maybe you should read before embarrassing yourself next time 🙂
Open Controls-
maybe you should re-read YOUR post.
the whole premise of your reasoning not do to it wasn't related at all to Suarez individually but based on what you think RVP's output will be relative to. I showed you that his output has been solid and he isn't even warmed up yet. United have a good schedule and will score goals, it's just a question of how many they concede and that doesn't affect RVP.
:):)Open Controls -
I can't believe I'm having to spell it out for you.See how the discussion started.
"Anybody else seriously consdiering doing Suarez to Sturidge to accomodate RVP"
"Choosing RVP over Suarez is borderline mental"Open Controls -
RVP putting up Adebayor-like numbers.
Open Controls -
You must have misunderstood the discussion if you were discussing RVP as a standalone option.
Let me start a new thread for you.Open Controls -
RVP is fantasy gold for February... Mata is 50-50 punt.
Saurez is a must have..like RVP in 2012.
Aguero making it easy to get RVP, weather he stays beyond Feb end is directly proportional to PPG.
I currently have RVP Saurez and Sturridge n 2.1 in the bank. depending on the performance of sturridge to RVP he woul get to sty in my team.
Personally I prefer RVP,
-->great supply from Mata and Rooney (Poor defensive performance doesn't affect their performance)
--> Penalty duty 🙂Open Controls

I thought about it last week, but I can't justify all the trades i would need to make, especially given he has a blank in 4 weeks.
Open Controls -
Ballsy move. Very ballsy move. Considering it and doing it are worlds apart. All the best if you do it.
Open Controls -
Set the fixtures forward one week and then picture yourself suarez-less hiding behind the couch as Liverpool play ful, SWA, sou and RVP plays ars, cpl, blank. Find another way if you want Rvp this week
Open Controls-
I already have Suarez and RVP, and putting the armband on RVP this week BTW.......trouble is I want Toure and Haz, so thinkinking of Suarez to Sturidge. But I get your point about not having Saurez over those next run of 3 fixtures.....
Open Controls-
Looks like you well set. Don't stuff around with that winning formula. It's only a matter of time before Suarez kills it again. Sturridge is also a great option, will continue to outscore toure IMO, I have sturridge too but Suarez scoring has been on another planet and despite a slight dip in stats and form, he has those 3 pretty decent fixtures to get back to his bullying ways.
I could potentially get SSRVP as my front 3, worth trashing my defence for?Open Controls
-

so youre quite against it then 🙂
Open Controls

In all honesty, which team stands a greater chance of winning this week?
Team A: Boruc + Dawson + Coleman + Lallana + Yaya + Colback + Roo + Giroud
Team B: Mannone + Ward + Azpili + JRod + Silva + Puncheon + Mata + SturridgeOpen Controls -
reposting from yesterday as the subject has come up again
GW29 matches in danger of being postponed (* in FA Cup):
West Ham v *Hull
*Cardiff v Fulham
Crystal Palace v *Southampton or Liverpool v *Sunderland
*Man City v Villa or *Chelsea v Spurs
Newcastle v *Everton or Arsenal v *Swansea
*Arsenal v Swansea or *Liverpool v Sunderland
with West Brom v Man United and Norwich v Stoke happening regardless:
At most we could see 7 games played.
Worst case scenario we could see only 4 games played.Open Controls-
so what are the nailed on games for that week IYO?
Open Controls-
none, anything can happen in a cup tie
If I was forced I'd say there were decent chances of Hull, Cardiff, Soton, City, Everton, and Arsenal being postponed.
Arsenal v Liverpool is the biggest crapshoot. City v Chelsea is close but I think City will edge this one as payback for yesterdayOpen Controls
-
-
Basically all of them. There's no point even considering planning for this unless you want to fill your team with Norwich players.
Open Controls-

They have a blank the week before though
Open Controls-
yep, RVP price going nowhere so free to ship out for blank week (with 2 planned FT stored away) and then bring back in the week after
Open Controls-
Good point I may get him in but likely will have Aguero by then. Have to manage your city assest for the blank too. Reckon there could be a few hits

Open Controls -
only have Yaya right now so that's not an issue. If City beat Chelsea I'll do the same thing I'm doing with RVP and then bring him back in for GW30.
Open Controls-
Will lose a lot of value on Yaya. I think I need a schedule planner or something to see what I will do haha
Open Controls-
ah but I only just bought him yesterday! that's the missing piece of the puzzle 😉 I'll maybe lose 0.1 on him and he may even drop once if he has 2 GW's blank in a row
Open Controls-
Ah not so bad for you so.DOn't kno wwhat I'll do myself. I have Dzeko, Silva, Mata and Evans. Will drop evans this week if he's injured and bench the other three or ship out if they aren't performing

Well what do I have against RVP. I keep getting attracted to anti-RVP arguments.
It's probably the after-effect and sourness due to last season. I made a bet with my friend (United fan) that I won't own RVP on FPL for the whole season, after he moved to United because I expected him to fail big time.
And the rest was history.Open Controls-
RVP!!
Open Controls-
Sup babe.
Open Controls-
I think he'll be very consistent just like last year. Even if United are shit he'll get you points. I'm 100% sure that he'll reach 20 goals min.
Open Controls -
Still can't believe what that Japanese dude said. Giroud will match RVP's points lol. The only striker in that price range who can match RVP is Sturridge. Maybe Negredo too. Giroud never... If he stays fit, RVP will easily double whatever Giroud's score is from now until the end of the season.

All these people transferring in RVP and getting all confident that he will bring it big time against Fulham are making me nervous. You're going to jinx the whole thing! (I picked up RVP before last gameweek and thought I had a good differential)
Open Controls-
Haven't seen this mentioned but... Heitinga could play as CB alongside Hangeland. Surely Jonny knows RVP inside out due to playing together for The Netherlands? Just saying 😉
Open Controls-
Surely they are comparable in class for sure. Heitinga the world-class CB and RVP the world-class ST
Open Controls-
It was a joke.
Open Controls

It works the other way round too...just saying 😛
Weighing the talent ..RVP wins 10 out of 10 times... 4-1 (RVP 2 goals and an assist, Rooney and Mata get the other 2)Open Controls

The ultimate differential will be RVP and Aguero gw31. That's could be massive
Open Controls -
Its not alot when you actually look at his NTO. Only adds upto 14 k right now. His price was a big reason why I took the gamble as if it worked out it would be such a hard bandwagon for people to jump on and I was able to do it for free with no damage to my squad(well if you don't count Kim and Whits)
