We delve into the data from the previous Gameweek and beyond in our assessment of the main midweek protagonists. Tottenham’s clinical marksman, Liverpool’s faltering frontman and a pair of Villains come under analysis this evening, as do United’s off-form forward, the Swans’ Spanish creator and Newcastle’s shooting displays, with the Magpies now failing to score in each of the last four:
- What to do with Man City?
Fantasy football scout daily hot topic
What to do with Man City?
On one hand Man City's run from gwk 27 -31 is superb. Great home games and a double in gwk 31.
But a blank in gwk 28 plus a possible blank in gwk 29 certainly takes the shine off of their players.
So how are you planning for the various Man City fixture permutations? To miss out on their key games could be costly. But to over invest could leave you woefully short.Open ControlsWhat is the chance that Ade will have a blank in the next couple of weeks?
Open ControlsAvoiding like I have all season outside Aguero & a brief Silva stint. 🙂
Open ControlsI think I may attempt a brief dalliance with Yaya for the first time... Him and Aguero look decent shouts for any double. Although how I'd fit them in I'm not sure... Dropping any of Hazard, Suarez, sturridge or adebayor will be painful!
Open Controls
Their attack is still worth investig in IMO. Currently have Yaya & Silva who have done sod all for me over the last three gameweeks but I am in no hurry to sell. If their are two blanks I will certainly sell one. But I plan on re-investing afterwards. They are fixture proof IMO. Also planning to pick Aguero back up after his return
Open ControlsDouble/triple up from GW30 seems wise. 3 DGWs (possibly) in the last 9 GWs for a free-scoring team is a dream.
Open ControlsSeems the answer to this question is largely indicative as to who we already own from City on our rosters as well as who we own from United. If City has a double blank surely there will be a mass exodus from their assets after GW27 since their players are so expensive few will want to keep one on their bench for two straight blanks. If they have a game in GW29, then we may consider keeping one or maybe two on our benches if we can field decent options in their stead for that week with then the prospect of hanging on for the DGW in 31.
Aguero's impending return will also be difficult to sort out. We will all likely want him approaching GW31 but may find it hard to get him into our squads without losing a premium mid option from either City or United. There are a lot of different combinations possible but then we face the risk of how Pelle will rotate in the DGWs as well. Very tricky indeed, good one Jonty.Open ControlsHave two, I may lose Kolarov depending on his FA Cup performance, bench Yaya. So much will hinge on all the Cup results this weekend and news of any rearranged games that come by Wednesday. I intend to make my transfers about then.
Open Controlsthe trouble is barring Hart,Yaya and possibly Kompany
even in a DGW ,it's a bit of a lottery to find a player
who'll start both gamesOpen ControlsExactly this. Hart is WAY to expensive to consider. Kompany looks like he may be a good option, and Yaya seems to be also a good shout.
Aguero seems nailed when fit and even if he gets subbed off around 70' in a DGW that is still mint. He seems the most important to have to me and may be a captaincy option to boot.Open ControlsI'll risk missing a .2 rise for his first week back to make sure he's really ready for full games 60+ minutes I mean.
Open ControlsAgree, Aguero is THE explosive captaincy option
but even when he's back he could find himself used
sparingly especially around the CL game weeksOpen ControlsI think given City's recent dip in form these last couple Pelle will not risk not starting Aguero in the PL once he is fit. I think he will just sub him off around 65' if the game is already in hand. If he wants to finish #1 he needs Aguero on the pitch.
Open Controls
Should they scrap the January WC?
I killed it with mine but would rather it scraped.
What are your opinions?Open Controlsno, the game is brilliant as it is, nothing needs changing imo.
Open Controlsyou sound like wenger!
Open ControlsNo way. The real managers are using the Jan transfer window to reassess their team; bringing new players if required to, get plug in players a la Kallstrom, send players on loan, etc.
So we should have that multiple transfer opportunity too.Open ControlsWe didn't have it before and things were fine.

I think there is a lot of support amongst serious players for abolishing the January Wildcard. FPL Towers are unlikely to agree to do that though, because they think it helps to revive interest for the genuine casuals whose teams are in a sorry state by that stage of the competition.
An alternative might be to replace the January Wildcard with a Second Wildcard that could be played any time during the second half of the season, so that we weren't all forced to use it at the same time and to end up with similar teams; to complement this, the Main Wildcard should be replaced by a First Wildcard that would be restricted to the first half of the season.
I have floated this idea several times already, but so far no-one has said whether they like or dislike it - so I suppose I have to assume that no-one else has any particularly strong feelings for or against.Open Controls
As a U.S. cat, I'm in full Valentine's mode (dinner is cooking for wifey, a quick post no big deal). Excited to finally see how these FA Cup matches pan out, so I can finally stategize my 2 FTs.
And to the Liverpool fans who posted earlier that their second string could easily draw with Arsenal, I hope you're tripled up on Arsenal for GW29, and I'd like to see your team sheets, otherwise you're little rats who have grown bold late season. As an Arsenal fan, I've never crowed about Arsenal this season, but the nonsense since last weekend is annoying. Wonder where you were after W. Brom. Or Hull.
Rant over. (temporarily)Open ControlsArsenal / Liverpool fans - they're all the same to me.
Open ControlsThat's deeply informative.
Open ControlsAs informative as calling liverpool fans little rats, I'd get back to cooking the dinner
Open ControlsI was calling particular ones little rats, not all. I have many friends who are Pool fans. Honestly, I don't want to fight this.
I eat rats. I'm a disgusting person.Open Controls
You're tarring us all with the same brush mate, don't listen to trolls, if you hadn't you clearly wouldn't be this bugged about it.
Open ControlsI apologize, I definitely got irritated. The thing is, I love Arsenal, I hate several teams, but I actually like Liverpool. The comments I read irritated me. I need to chill. Thanks for the reality check.
Open ControlsI noticed you posted earlier, some of the 'Pool fans around here are just trying to capitalise on a sudden surge from the club they love dearly, swings and roundabouts I suppose, really it's a surprise they aren't off United bashing. Good luck to you and your club for the rest of the season. 😉
Open ControlsCheers.

Pool second string is torrid
Open ControlsI don't think there is an actual full second string.

Every team has it's section of morons. ever look at the comment section on a torrent of a game. Make you weep for the human race. Luckily enough FFS seems to have very few of their ilk. Try and ignore them, and if you can't put them down with dignity and stay classy for your team 😀
Open ControlsThanks, man. Hopefully I haven't let my own team down with my temper. Kind words like these will stave off weeping for the human race a few days longer. Cheers.

is that albrighton in the picture?
good old times...Open ControlsNot as good as when that O'Neill's Villa with the likes of Cuellar, Dunne, Barry, Millner, Young and Agbonlahor. Oh, those days... :')

What are Oscar owners doing?
(A) Keeping and hoping he'll FINALLY do something
(B) Getting rid, and if so, for who?Open ControlsI'm not an Oscar owner but if I were I would be going that B route for sure. Lallana or Stevie G maybe? Wait until after the weekend to see who will be blanking in 29 though.

Ditched for Gerrard last week - best decision I made for a while. He's a great player but not showing any form at the moment. Might snap him back up again when he does though...

am i spending too much on my defenc ? (Ward Chester)Open ControlsKosc Coleman & Ivanovic here with (Ward Bruce)
Decided to get expensive in defence with WC. Ivanovic has saved my season among others.Open Controlsthis gameweek that just passed absolutely destroyed me ...
went from 7k to 19k ... Gutted man ..
am sure I will c law it back though ..
am . I right in saying with zab coleman and ivan I have the best 3 attacking right backs in the plOpen Controls5 assists for Zaba but only 18 points in his last 7 games is quite poor.
Open Controls
There are points in defence!
Open ControlsNo not when a def can give 7/8/9 points reruns on a cs ,
A striker needs to score 2 to get 10 points - granted that would probably become 12/13 with bonus but a lot of the above are only around 6m ish whereas a decent striker outside of Jrod costs 8m plus.
As points per player value defenders are right up there IMO.Open ControlsGreat defense
Open Controls
It's like a massacre in a dingy garage.
Open Controlssup pinkyy
Open ControlsSup friend.
Open Controls
For a manager that rates himself so highly, Jose's decision to play Cahill whilst injured was awful judgement imo. Cost them a point and possibly a defender.
Open Controlsreally loving what's going on btwn wenger and mourinho 😉
Open ControlsMourinho should focus on the matter in hand, putting Cahill back on the pitch v WBA was an awful piece of management.

Athletico fined £492 for Ronaldo getting hit by lighter
How do you come up with that figure , it's like 602 eurosOpen ControlsI have a sneaking suspicion that so many people are worrying about what my happen on GW29 that they've half forgotten about GW28
Open ControlsAgreed. I'm not gonna let one strange week completely change my team
Open Controls
Why did I get Benteke again? 🙄 1 assist and a penalty miss in 9 matches since his injury at the start of the season in two spells
Open ControlsI have Benteke as well

Just finished watching first season of homeland and wow that was almost as good as first season of prison break. Is season two as good as the first one ?
Open ControlsYup and yesterday I finished Season 3 which I felt is the best of all ....You're in for a good ride my friend
Open ControlsLower your expectations for season 3
Open ControlsSeason 1 is excellent, season 2 is good, season 3 is okay.
Open ControlsRead my mind, +1
Open Controls
Wow...the first 3-4 episodes of Homeland were great and then the series completely jumps the shark. Season 2 is a parody. Season 3 starts out well, but gets ridic in the final episodes. Watch the Americans or Justified, both very. Good. Also another Showtime production is masters of Sex, far better than homeland. Of course can't beat the Wire, Deadwood, BB, or seasons 1-4 of Mad Men...just saying.
Open ControlsEvery seaso of mad men is perfection
Open Controls
Season 1 was great, season 2 good, season 3 went off the rails.
The Americans is great though.Open Controls
anyone take screen caps of rivals teams so you can forensically work out what their transfers were from tv and bank.................??
errrrrr of course im joking, no one would be that obsessed.........Open ControlsI'm about 100 points clear of rivals. I rarely even look at the league.
Open ControlsI expect the top few in the world do as the end of the season approaches.
Open Controls
Wow only just seen Balo's goal from last night 😯
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqcom-bfIM8Open ControlsBest series you have ever seen?
Mine probably lost or prison break. Stopped watching them after that.Open ControlsThe West Wing, The Wire and Arrested Development.
Open ControlsI think the scale and production value of Game of Thrones will be hard to beat.
I always enjoyed Fringe.Open ControlsThe Wire
Open ControlsGame of Thrones, hands down.
House of Cards, Breaking Bad and The Wire after that.Open ControlsBand of Brothers

I still remember Martin Buchan as an outstanding center half for Utd !
😉Open Controls...I remember the Greenhoffs too....and Gordon McQueen.
Not fondly though - I'm afraid I was shouting for Toshack & co 😉
You might remember Ripping Yarns too?!!Open Controls
The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and The L Word.
Open ControlsThe preferences on this site are so different from what I'm used to. Series like Dexter usually being loved by every man and his horse. And Breaking Bad always on top.
Six Feet Under followed by The Wire followed by the first season of Twin Peaks followed by the first season of Deadwood for me.
And maybe True Detective.Open ControlsOh I forgot about Six Feet Under - the first series was as good as anything. Did go slightly downhill after that but still great show.
Open Controls
Prison Break and Lost fell victim to their own popularity and were forced to continue long after they should have.
I'm more of a comedy man than drama anyways.
Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, Blackadder. All classics. Dont think there's a single bad episode in the bunch.
Simpsons shear quality for so long too.South Park getting that way now.Open Controls
So perhaps I shall stick with Suarez for another week 🙂
Open ControlsGood big numbers Paul, nice when they confirm what you thought you'd watched.
Open ControlsMakes me feel better about Suarez (c) and i thought Albrighton has looked lively.
Open ControlsMe too, I'd said he could have had 3 in either of the last two.
Open ControlsBlimey.

What transfer did you make if you have already made one/some?Open ControlsReally have no idea where to go at the moment. Defence looks really weak for next week but would also like to swap out Eriksen. Hoping some inspiration turns up soon. Clarity on GW 29 fixtures will help
