It’s exactly a year since Fabian Delph was the first to climb aboard last season’s 10 yellow card Suspension Tightrope. For the last six games, the Villa midfielder had the chance to repeat that feat but, while he continued to press his claims for international recognition, including a goal (and own goal) in the win over West Brom in January, a defeated opponent from that Midlands derby has been steadily making his way up the charts to pip Delph at the post.

With a third booking of 2014 secured in stoppage time against Fulham at The Hawthorns on Saturday, Jonas Olsson became the first man to reach nine yellows this season and subsequently earn first place on the second tightrope of the season.

Replacing Olsson in the band on eight yellows, was Everton’s Gareth Barry, booked (eventually) for a series of fouls in the Saturday lunchtime defeat to Chelsea. The Toffees midfielder joins David Luiz, Marouane Chamakh, Wayne Rooney, Jon Walters and Claudio Yacob, who, along with the aforementioned Delph, made it through the weekend with his copybook unblotted.

This week’s Tightrope, which highlights those players with at least seven cautions accrued, now has 23 names. Four teams supply us with three players apiece – West Brom (Olsson, Yacob and Fabrice Mulumbu), Villa (Delph, Gabby Agbonlahor and Ciaran Clark, Chelsea (Luiz, Branislav Ivanovicand Ramires and Newcastle (Mathieu Debuchy, Moussa Sissoko and Cheick Tiote.

With no new suspensions from the weekend, we just need to tidy up the returning faces, as Craig Bellamy, Wes Brown and Andy Carroll are once again available for selection. While Bellamy and Carroll face up to fixtures at Spurs and Everton respectively, Brown is set for a Capital One Cup Final clash with City and, with an FA Cup fixture the following weekend, won’t be back for league duties until March 15, when the Black Cats welcome Palace to the Stadium of Light in Gameweek 20.

Any ideas chaps? 2FT and 0.8M in bank:

    Marshall
    Cahill, Koscielny, Coleman, Ward, Demel
    Hazard, Lallana, Noone
    Suarez, Sturridge

    (MANNONE, NEGREDO, YAYA TOURE, MATA)

Thinking Negredo -> Adebayor and Marshall -> Cech?

    Cheers.

It's going to be difficult getting 11 DGW players...

All free transfers up to & including GW29, will be used selling DGW players for players that have a game during GW28 & 29.

So then going in to GW30, we will use our free transfers to stock up on DGW players.

So at the very most, we will have 4 FT's to stock up...

Unless you use your WC going into the DGW, you may only get 5 or 6 DGW'ers.

I fear using my WC to field 11 DGW'ers, may mean I am stuck with players I dont really want after the DGW...

Somebody make it all better for me 🙁

That is why I am holding on to Mannone, Yaya, Mata, Sturridge & Suarez. It may cost me in the short term but will benefit me in the long term and I can still field 10/11 in GW28 and GW29.

Any chances Eriksen will get back into the team fo coming GW's? Looking to replace him with Snod/Adam/Ince/Puncheon, but looking at the stats it seems unlikely they're going to haul ig next gameweeks. Their teams typically score 1 or 0.

Brilliant. Only have Bruce who won't play probably. No West Ham players. Hope it doesn't get rearranged midweek!

Any midweek rescheduling for GW29 is looking increasingly unlikely. GW31 likely to be a big DGW!

I just got no idea what to do, as all the players I could sell will have a DGW

My only worry is the West Ham DGW going in the same week as a Sunderland one. But the best options are Speroni (have Ward), Ruddy (have MOlsson) or selling Demel to Cahill (have Azpi)

Could just leave it as Monday. No clashes then.
