Granville calls it a logic-defying season and this 300k ranked Fantasy manager isn’t going to argue with him. There’s plenty to tussle about in this week’s ScoutCast, however, as we lock virtual horns over Rooney vs van Persie, Baines vs Coleman and Aguero vs his hamstring.

In and around the regulars, it’s the incoming double Gameweeks that occupy our thoughts once more, with the community questions quizzing us on United’s Gameweek 31 potential, the Chelsea dilemma and the best player we’ve witnessed in the flesh. Granville puts forward a true talent: a three time FIFA World Player of the Year, no less. I nominated a floppy haired Geordie with a top 40 single. Truly logic-defying.

Share in Granville’s Zizou moment via this link or stare into my Diamond Lights via the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I reckon Clichy will start vs Hull, then Kolarov start both games in the DGW.

Gotta be the most stupid question you could ever ask..AND I GET ASKED IT OFTEN

I have a sixteen year old son who can't speak...at all..and never will...So I meet somebody I know whilst out shopping with my son today and he ask's me "have you ever wondered what he would sound like if he could speak"...WTF...What do people think I might say to that ?

    Rant over.

It doesn't seem that bad a question but maybe people have to be in your position to understand it's irritating; I don't think there's any malice in it, it's probably just a little bit ignorant.

Irritating doesn't begin to describe it. Imagine this...If it was a young person who would always be in a wheeelchair would you ask "have you ever wondered what he would be like if he could walk"...most people wouldn't dream of asking that...it's the same thing.

yes but until you put it like that it doesnt seem that silly, i have to agree with tiote, most of us live in a bubble without an idea of how hard life is for some and that leads to ignorant questions, no malice tho

we live in a world, though not a bubble so we should be more compassionate and/or think when we speak otherwise we are more selfish than is tolerable in someone like Wakey's position

RP for anyone who's looking at Rooney v Lukaku

        Rooney -6.3 PPG
        +Better form
        +Better long term fixtures
+Playing for a Europa league spot, team still motivated
-Still in CL, with a game three days after LIV and three days before whm which could affect his performances.
-Could be played further down the field if Moyes gets giddy again
-Slight rotation risk/less likely to complete a full 90 minutes
        -2 yellows from a ban

        Lukaku -5 PPG
        +Better Price
        +No other competitions
+Slightly better immediate fixtures (see history below)
+In a team with no injuries, probably good morale
        +Has an unscheduled fixture
        +Negligible rotation risk
-In a team that scores less (no more than 2 in PL since december)

Each player’s history against their next three opponents (Apps-Goals-Assists):

        Rooney*:
        LIV 21-7-4
        whm 15-9-4
        MCI 24-11-1
*Most of these results were recorded under Fergie

        Lukaku:
        CAR --
        SWA 4-2-0
        new 3-3-2

I was originally thinking Lukaku and that’s where my money will stay.
Wayne’s record against the next three means little if Utd aren’t playing as well this season. The Olympiakos Liverpool and City games also make this an awkward time to invest in him. Ade/Eto’o offer decent exit strategies from Lukaku after the Fulham game.

Looking at the comparison tool I can't work out much because of Lukaku's injury and it taking Rooney a few games to get back into it after his last lay off, but something in there could perhaps be more definitive.

your comment 'Most of these results were recorded under Fergie' makes this analysis pretty much pointless, we are so unreliable with Moyes around. I see what you're trying to do but i don't even trust the team i support.

I see what you mean, it was merely to check for any bogey fixtures or 'Suarez meets Norwich' type fixtures. Take what you want from it but for me that means he has a decent chance of scoring in any of them, though under Moyes it does seem less likely.
I thought Utd have been looking slightly better of late, if RVP sorts himself out they could have a decent finish to the season.

8 yellows for Rooney, a blank in GW34, Olympiakos and Man City shortly, are all reasons to rationalize going for Lukaku ahead of him. The extra cash also allows to build a better midfield.

Rooney still the best player and has to justify his massive paycheck every week.

Good point, I forgot the blank, though if not rescheduled in the same week that does mean a DGW, which evens it out.

I saw the original Ronaldo's hatrick vs United at Old Trafford.

He was simply deadly, but the movement off the ball of the entire Madrid team that day was phenomenal to watch - I was up in the gods so got a Birdseye view of it, like watching Sensible Soccer, haha.

I saw LeTiss and Cantona playing beach football at Brighton the year they retired from football proper.
A great game, great players and a great day. (Not proper football though).
LeTissier is one of my all time football heroes.

Andy Carrol vs Chelsea, when he was at Newcastle. I guess it was 2008 and he was a total bully in that game. He had Cole on his fingertips and didnt really care about the Chelsea defence.

Never been to England so Hossem (sp?) Hassan in an Ahly-Zamalek derby in Cairo. Have never seen an athlete own an entire stadium-full like he did that day -- he didn't even play that well but we all just gasped in anticipation every time he touched the ball.

Bar the Newcastle legends (Shearer etc.), the closest to a world star I've seen is Zola in my first ever game. He didn't even start and only came on near the end as I remember.

So whats the latest on the Aguero news? Granville seemed rather convinced he was out.

                  I'm pessimistic.

Watched the Barca game last night and he was totally out the game in the first half. Had one sprint with Messi very early on where he, apparently, tweaked his hamstring again.

No news thus far, but let's look at this realistically - he has come back, played a couple of matches and then got the same injury, he is their best player and they are fighting for the title. Do you think they will risk making the injury worse by starting him against Hull and Fulham? I think not. United will be the next time we see him...depressingly πŸ™

For sure. However I won't be transferring him out right at this moment based on that.

Geez I'm not sure I'd want to leave it that late. Sometimes when I do that I don't think as rationally and everything gets a bit rushed. Probably better to do it well before then. After all the press conferences it should be fine.

RvP or Adebayor to Lukaku? Or stick? Finding it hard to find a good captain option if I don't get Rom-rom.
