Emmanuel Adebayor bags a brace upon his return from injury as Spurs sweep aside sorry Sunderland. Christian Eriksen also runs riot with a goal and two assists, whilst Harry Kane turns in an impressive display on his first league start for the north London outfit:

Eriksen Tames the Black Cats
The Dane served up his second successive double-figure haul at White Hart Lane with another inspirational left-flank display last night. Eriksen’s last home game delivered 18 points against Southampton and he almost repeated the feat with a goal, two assists and maximum bonus helping him accrue 15 points in a comprehensive win over the basement-dwellers. Fielded on the left of a 4-3-1-2, with Nacer Chadli handed the central role behind a front two, the 4%-owned Eriksen made a mockery of his 6.6 price-tag and rewarded the 33,000+ Fantasy managers who snapped him up prior to the weekend deadline. Up next is a trip to West Brom, a side Eriksen has already produced a goal and maximum bonus against earlier this season, and with Fulham, West Ham, Stoke and Villa still to follow, his schedule suggests further investment is on the cards.

Adebayor Back with a Bang
Having missed the previous two Gameweeks with a heel injury, the Tottenham forward announced his return in style last night. Adebayor had dropped to less than 5% ownership but proved himself to be a vital differential by notching twice against Gus Poyet’s strugglers and delivering a 13 point return – he has now averaged 6.7 points per game in 15 outings under Tim Sherwood. Certainly, with double Gameweek forwards the main objects of our attentions this week, Adebayor may find it difficult to earn a space in our three-man frontlines, though a home game with Fulham in Gameweek 35 could well see the bandwagon pick up speed again.

Kane Vindicates Sherwood’s Show of Faith
With plenty of rumours flying around that Sherwood is set to be dismissed after the end of the season, the Spurs boss was in defiant mood prior to last night’s match. Sherwood is adamant his plans for the team won’t be influence by outside pressure, and with Roberto Soldado injured, he handed Harry Kane his first league start for the north London outfit. Whilst Eriksen and Adebayor understandably hogged the headlines, Kane marked his debut with a goal and, priced at just 4.4, could be a bargain if Sherwood retains him in the starting XI from here on in.

Johnson Returns to the Sunderland Starting XI
Having grabbed a goal and assist in his last two appearances as a sub, the midfielder’s owners were relieved to see him back in the Sunderland first-team for last night’s trip to the Lane. Johnson was moved to the role in “the hole” behind Fabio Borini in a 3-5-1-1 formation but, ironically, despite Poyet finally affording him the full 90 minutes, he failed to make any impact in a demoralising defeat. Considering he now has a double, Johnson’s owners will surely retain his services given that he’s back in Poyet’s plans, but bearing in mind next week’s matches are against in-form Everton and City, and with a game against Chelsea directly after, would-be suitors may wait until Gameweek 36 to assess his form – Sunderland than have a trio of home fixtures in the final three rounds of matches, including a double Gameweek 37.

Black Cats’ Resilience Slipping
Last night’s 5-1 mauling means Sunderland have now mustered a single clean sheet in their last seven matches in a run that has seen them concede 17 goals. At the back, John O’Shea was surprisingly dropped, Phil Bardsley and Marcos Alonso were again handed the wing-back roles before Poyet reverted to a 4-4-2 late on in a vain attempt to claw back the deficit, whilst Vito Mannone’s saves ensured he still ended the evening on two points, in spite of the heavy defeat. Palace, Everton and City all approach the double in fine form but Sunderland’s season goes from bad to worse, with last night’s display perhaps causing many Fantasy managers to think twice over drafting in the Wearsiders right now.

Game of Thrones fans, did any of ye notice they recast Daario? They don't look or sound anything alike. Very jarring, I actually thought it was a new character at first

this may not be the case but i reckon people would feel differently about their gameweek (despite it being exactly the same) if the matches were on different days.
for example people who dont have adebayor and eriksen if the tottenham match was in amongst all the 3 o'clock games on saturday it would have been more "meh, can't have em all." or if liverpool were on saturday non gerrard owners would feel less deflated.
missing out on 2 big scorers on monday feels worse than it probably is. of course both being differentials ensured there was no real fall in the ranking, but even so, i think timing of matches does skew emotions unecessarily

    Afternoon Chaps!

I'm struggling to beat off my rivals in my works mini league -

Looks good - is Mutch to Silva a good plan too?

He may have had his good spell now?

Was also looking at a Man C defender to offset defence / GK of Rival having Hart and Zab?

If you do Mutch to Silva your left with 5 big mids and a benching headache each week.

You could go for a defender but your def looks good for this week. Personally I wouldn't do it.

Could do with a bit of help:

    Manonne (Boruc)

    Ward, Cahill, Demichellis, Distin (Bruce)

Hazard Gerrard, Silva (Mata, No one)

    Suarez, Sturridge, Dzeko.

Is it worth doing Sturridge and Gerrard to Lukaku and Eriksen for -4, with the intention of captaining Lukaku. Can't squeeze Aguero in with Demichellis Silva and Dzeko already in huge team.

I know, and rightly too, but its annoying when the shot is going right down the keepers throat and then a defender deflects it passed him.

Not annoying if you own Eriksen I suppose!

The upside to Mannone over the downside of not having him makes it a no brainer. Can't see him not getting at least 4 points, pulls off a cleanie and one of his 10 point hauls and you've lost 10+ on not picking him, worst case scenario 2 point down imho.

nah, i'd ignore aguero for now if that's the dilemma.
regarding your other comment i believe the negative impact aguero has on yaya should be at its smallest in double gameweeks with the quick turnaround in matches. especially so in this one with aguero only just set to return from injury

Some of us have 4 rivals breathing down our neck who looking at their transfers and change in team value have bought Kun in, so I need to bring him in out of neccessity. Is that a sad/bad way to play the game? If it wasn't so close to the end I wouldn't but he'd be a huge differential to not have him and not worth the risk!

Unless you are intending on keeping them both until GW37 I wouldn't get both. Your FT between now and GW37 are going to have a major impact on your final position and you don't want to be wasting them.

I currently have 3 Everton players and they are my transfer priority after this GW. So the 3 City players I have now will be staying until GW37. (I actually only have 2 City and 2 Everton but will have 3 by GW34)

    So.

Based on the last hot topic I should go Kun(c).

    Rival owns Dzeko/Silva/Zaba. I own Yaya/Demi. He has 2 FT's. I'm 66pts behind.

I own Lukaku. He will most certainly go Lukaku(c) to cover me....right?

    😕

What Hot Topic is telling you to do Kun(C)?

      ...Don't do Kun(C).

I'm running out of ideas. I need a miracle. Trying to second guess rival. Is he going to go Lukaku(c) to cover me or is he going Dzeko(c).

My differentials - Yaya/Eriksen/Terry/Lukaku/Demi...nothing to write home about.

The idea is to capt a player that will score more then my rival's captain.

            🙄

I would not get caught up too much trying to second guess your rival. I would just focus on picking the players you think will get the most points, otherwise you end up taking unnecessary risks.

Out of those 5, I'd definitely captain Yaya or Lukaku anyway...

Well if it helps.... I'm going lukaku (c) to cover my rival who is 55 points behind me who might also go lukaku (c) or yaya (c)

    Zabaleta Coleman Ward (Fonte Azpi)
    Yaya Nasri Gerrard Hazard (Noone)
    Suarez Sturridge Lukaku

    2FT 0.3 ITB

    Currently considering Gerrard > Eriksen

I think that is a good shout, although you may also want to consider Mirallas or Barkley as they have DGW

If I were to choose between Barkley and Mirallas, I would pick Mirallas unless I was strapped for cash.
