I have eyed that transfer up for weeks. Se what happens in the next match then make a decision. Ade could also be a decent option with fixtures

I've been looking at it for a while, too. Giroud seems a better bet than Ramsey as a route to the Arsenal attack. But today's game will be a hint as to whether it is a decent idea.

Update will come at the press conference tomorrow, although I don't think things look good. Groin is usually 3 weeks out...guess the more pertinent question is who to replace him with? Has to be Eriksen for an in-form mid, but there is the prospect of another DGW nagging away at me. Not seen much mention of Nasri on here...

  4. Anyone for Matic?

What do people think about Matic as a punt, even if he is a defensive midfielder?

    - Cheap at £6m.
    - 4 assists in his last four games.
    - 5th highest midfield player in the past 6 gameweeks, when looking at chances created (13).
    - Nailed on.
    - Always good for a clean sheet point.

Could be good when going for a 5 man midfield, which I've seen some people are.

I still find it tough to overcome the 'don't buy a DM' mantra. They are after all supposed to stay deep and not get involved much in the attack. Of course that hasn't always been the case this season. I think I will still stay clear for now.

I think you have to define a D/M more clinically next season.

Gerrard_ who most definitely is one but is still on set pieces so still a good pick.
YaYa_ much in the same vein as Gerrard....no one else springs to mind.

Then you have the box to box D/M.

Ramsey_don't need to say too much about him, proved many wrong. Others who have done well don't spring to mind atm.

Generally though, being a Ramires season keeper, I can confidently say avoid all D/M's in FF no matter how much you rate them unless of course you believe Matic can join the elite exceptions above.

What points gap does everyone reckon is too much to bridge? I'm 60 points behind my rival in my main league (iPad at stake) but is that too much? I'm not sure whether to chase him with captain differentials or just try and get a good rank/win the rest of my mini leagues..

60 pts is possible to catch with the other bit of this dgw and gw37 to come but I would personally make the odd punt on captain now, for instance Aguero/Silva over Suarez may work out, Norwich scrapping for existence and at home....but still a ballsy move if you do it. Good luck.

Probably depends on how similar your teams are. I'd give it maybe 2 weeks and if no ground made, consolidate. if you got it to 30-40 points with a couple of weeks to go its definitely doable!

Aguero (c) insteadnof Suarez for next game week could be the first push in the right direction!

I'm doing Yaya -> Silva this week!

I need Aguero to hit form, I knew it was a risk bringing him in but there is no real way my rivals can bring him in without losing someone big in midfield which would give me another chance of a differential..

If you are 2nd, he can easy get Silva or Aguero depending on the midweek game and Sturridge news. You have a 2% chance if he has any idea about what he is doing tbh.

@Icon - my reason for not going Suarez(c)...

I have a 64pts gap to bridge with Demi/Punch/Kun(me) vs his Zaba/Jedi/Silva to go. I was doing fine with Punch/Eriksen until Silva came to the party for him( 😡 )

I need to be different to stand a chance. Yes, the chances are Suarez will match who ever I decide to (c), but this way I'm having fun and at least might have a sniff.
