Saturday’s events continue with a quartet of three o’clock kick-offs, culminating in a crunchy tea-time clash at Stamford Bridge.

The battle to clamour free of relegation worries dominates the day, as Caridff seek out another three points to follow their unexpected St Mary’s triumph – a mid-table Stoke City are their opponents in South Wales. Elsewhere, compatriots Swansea make the trip to an out-of-sorts Newcastle in their bid to keep themselves free of the Premier League trapdoor. Paul Lambert will look to halt Aston Villa’s alarming slide down the table with their home tie with Southampton, while Crystal Palace will seek out a fifth straight win when they pay visit to Upton Park.

The day is rounded off by Chelsea’s bid to climb to the top of the table for 24-hours at least, as they look to hammer a nail in Sunderland’s coffin. Given the Black Cats’ show at the Etihad on Wednesday, however, we should expect the unexpected.

Look to our Twitter feed for all the news from the day’s team sheets, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains open for those looking to partake in some real-time banter.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Said it before, will say it again, what the hell kind of excuse to Chelsea or City have for this? All credit to Liverpool, they've been great, but City and Chelsea have been exposed for the absolute mercenary teams they are in my opinion. Good enough for them, far too long not being called out for not really giving a shit. Well done Pool.

And yes, before the anti Pool brigade start, I'm aware they could lose the league. But do any of you genuinely believe that a team that has won 14 on the trot is going to lose 2 of their next 4 matches against Norwich, Chelsea, Palace and Newcastle?

I wish any team had. I'm delighted United have the excuse of an entirely new era beginning and a fairly hampered squad, never in contention. The league was there for the taking and credit to Rodgers and Pool they were the ones who stepped up.

Norwich fighting for their lives, Liverpool get complacent because the pressure is now off of them, anything could happen. And if Norwich don't pull it off, Palace could certainly do it a couple of weeks later.

But they need to lose twice. I think it's really the stuff of dreams to be saying Pool with their win record will lose 50% of their remaining games.

Actually if they lose once and City win all 5 of theirs, they both end up on 86 points. Then goal differential will decide it. Of course City winning all of theirs is looking anything but sure.

Liverpool weren't good enough to play in Europe, they were out of most cup competitions early, they've probably played half the number of matches Chelsea/Man City have. Not to mention how many times the refs have favoured them this season. They've had what, 15 pelanties? And why hasn't Suarez been banned yet? Disgraceful.

You seem a little wound up 😉

They've not had other commitments, major advantage to them. Chelsea and City however have big squads and big money to burn. You can say what you want about favouritism but that doesn't change the fact that City and Chelsea have let matches go from them. Chelsea should have one today with ease, they had a far greater number of chances and shots that they wasted, utterly lazy.

As a Liverpool fan I would have to say that the result of that game should of been a draw. A lot of Liverpool fans are really ecstatic right now but I can see Palace and perhaps Norwich spoiling our title run. I hope to god we win it though. This would mean more to us than it would to City or Chelsea.
