      It's the best hire they could make outside one of the happily employed PSG, Madrid, Beyern, or Dortmund managers...

            They're not going to bench their whole backline... maybe Azpi gets a rest for Cole but they don't really have an option to rest defenders..

      Appreciate it, friends.

      I was having doubts over captaincy because obviously Chelsea has a beastly defence, and the fact that Rooney will be vs Norwich
      However I have not seen that cutting edge in United's play lately so Im a little hesitant.

    Anyone have any insight to how giggs views Rooney? Fergi hated him and he was 100% out had Fergi stayed and that couldn't created a slight rift between him and Fergi's boys??? Does he view WR as a Fat Pig and possible bench him for Welbs/Hernan this week?

      That would be a massive call and would only further create a rift at United. Rooney is next seasons captain after all. No way would Giggs have the balls to drop him if he wants to continue in a coaching role next season.

        If VG really becomes our next manager I would bet on Rooney being the team Cap. Rooney seems like a fat and lazy slob half the time and VG defo wont stand for that or pick a cap he views that way.

            That might well be the case. But right now he is expected to be next seasons captain so it would be a big call for Giggs to drop him. Can't see it myself.

                  Yeah I remember GW 38 last year. Many got burned with Lukaku(WBA). We were all rooting for you. What a let down.

                  I honestly also feel like taking a break. I think the WC and any fantasy game that relates to it will be the final nail in the coffin called "motivation".

                  The thing is I prob won't come back if I do take a break.

      I think Terry > Demichelis + Silva > Nasri are good transfers. Everyone says you shouldn't take a hit for a defender. But Demichelis has a good chance of a clean sheet this weekend, and then a double gameweek.

      And I prefer Nasri to Mata. He's part of a more attacking side. Try to get Rooney in for Lukaku.

            They won't be. No one has ever been priced 15m in the last 7 years as far as I can recall.

            Kun & Rooney's injuries and reduced minutes this season would prevent that.

                        Butner with his limited game time might be a snip. Evans as well.

                        As I said before, start at the 3 bottom clubs that survive the drop. Then move to the "under performing" top sides of the year before....none better than ManU, especially with a new manager and new players coming in.

                        Be wary of the "over achieving" teams of the year before that now need to fight on both the PL and CL/Europa fronts. Eg Liverpool or maybe Cpal.

                        It happens every year. Just look at Fulham and Newcastle of a year or two ago. They experienced crippling injuries, fatigue etc and had disastrous seasons the year after having a good run.

                        It might happen again.

                        Yeah, they struggled this season, so they might have some decently priced players.

                        Remy is interesting as he is on loan from QPR, that might come up to the PL this season. Talk is Podolski wants to sod off back to Jerryland and Remy is on the Arsenal shopping list.

                        Remy at Arsenal could be massive.

                        I would snap up a decent Arsenal or Chelsea striker. Arsenal with Remy and Ozil at full steam next year would be exciting. If Remy goes back to QPR there could be a cheap playmaker there feeding him the ball 😉

            None of them will be 15m. Suarez 14m probably, the other two 12ish. It's based on this season's total points, so Aguero's time off for injury will keep his price down.

                True, but there won't be many occasions that you'll want all three at any one time in all likelihood. Injury, out of form (either individual or team), good fixtures for a cheaper alternative. For the times you really do need all three, you'll find a way!

        Anyway, it may depend on Mourinho tactics. As Mikel, Matic, Lampard, and Salah are likely to start in MF, it's possible that he will deploy an ultra defensive tactic again.

          Yeah sounds weird but I think they may hold out. They have decent replacements for both and perhaps will turn to more negative tactics because they're out.

          Anyways this is just a feeling and sense of foreboding what with everyone shipping them, benching them etc. Logically, you'd expect Liverpool to score at Anfield.

      Hey, yeah it was me. BUT I said stay away from the strikers from the newly promoted sides(unless their surname is Lambert!)

      I said fill the defence with the cheapies from the newly promoted sides, especially any defenders that might be on set pieces.

      Especially considering the Chelsea defenders & someone like Coleman won't be 6m(Terry) and 5m(Coleman) again. You need those 4-4.5m bargains.

    I love this game. I don't take it very seriously but in my second season I'm 200 pts ahead of my tally last season, top 4 in my semi-competitive mini-league. I'm also at 62 transfers for the year, and that's almost certain to get to 70. Love the rush of a new team every week hoping for big scores. Good times.

    Morning folks, did Silva > Rambo last night and I'm now looking at Distin > either Kosc or a City defender.

    Arsenal have 3 delicious fixtures and probably 2 cleanses out of 3, whereas City have the extra fixture, which is an unfavourable away game, and they don't look good for a CS. That said Demi looks good for bonus and maybe even a cheeky goal.
