I only made this post a reply to the one above. Still none the wiser about who the better option would be. Like you, i haven't seen Sunderland play or watched his goals. But interesting stat about Borini's open play goals.Open ControlsOkay. So we're both interested in this Sunderland forward conundrum. Problem to me is this: both has more chances and creates more chances than Wickham. He seems to be the better player. He has the penalties. Yet, you look at the goal charts, minus penalties, and it reads 5-0 to Wickham from January to today and Wickham has scored all 5 goals in last three matches, two of them against title contenders.
I consider that Wickham's poor stats may result from those City and Chelsea games. Against Cardiff he took 6 shots. That's mildly better.
