As the final Gameweek approaches, our Sky weekly article draws to a close. Once again, we take a look at the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries and current market trends.

Gameweek 38 Man of the Match Awards

Here’s a match-by-match breakdown of the players that won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man-of-the-Match award.

Fixture MoTM
Aston Villa vs Hull Andreas Weimann
Everton vs Man City Joe Hart
Man United vs Sunderland Sebastian Larsson
Newcastle vs Cardiff Tim Krul
Stoke vs Fulham Oussama Assaidi
Swansea vs Southampton Luke Shaw
West Ham vs Tottenham Hugo Lloris
Arsenal vs West Brom Olivier Giroud
Chelsea vs Norwich Michael Turner
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Dwight Gayle
Man United vs Hull Adnan Januzaj
Man City vs Aston Villa Pablo Zabaleta
Sunderland vs West Brom Lee Cattermole

A very even split of awards this week with three goalkeepers, defenders, forwards and four midfielders claiming MoTM. The only players listed above with over 10% ownership were Pablo Zabaleta, Luke Shaw and Olivier Giroud, with many of the others having little impact across the rankings. Going into the final week Eden Hazard, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez have the joint most MoTM awards for the season, with nine apiece.

Gameweek 38 Bonus Points

Five goalkeepers managed five saves or more. Brad Guzan was the top performer with seven saves over the two games. Vito Mannone is still top overall with 30 additional points.

In defence, 21 players gathered bonus, seven for tackles and 14 for passes completed – full-back Marcos Alonso was the stand out performer here with two clean sheets and an assist to go with his tackling bonus. Swansea’s Angel Rangel leads the way for the defenders with 28 extra bonus points.

In midfield, 22 players earned bonus points – four for tackling and 20 for passes. United’s Michael Carrick managed tackling once and passing twice over the two games to earn an additional six points. Mikel Arteta is the games top bonus earner overall with 48 extra points.

A reminder that Fantasy Football Scout members can access all the data regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Top Transfers Out

Name Team Value % of Managers
Aguero Man City 9.8 10.04%
Ramsey Arsenal 5.8 7%
Rooney Man Utd 9.6 4.23%
Oscar Chelsea 7.6 4.07%
Giroud Arsenal 8.5 3%

Wayne Rooney looks likely to miss out this week whilst Oscar remains a doubt for Chelsea. Sergio Aguero and Aaron Ramsey have been passed fit after recent injuries.

Top Transfers In

Name Team Value % of Managers
Dzeko Man City 8.5 11.80%
Toure Man City 8.6 7.09%
Sterling Liverpool 4.8 4.62%
Nasri Man City 6.3 3.72%
Sturridge Liverpool 9.2 3.68%

The top five transfers in unsurprisingly involve title chasing Liverpool and Man City players. With few teams left with anything to play for it looks a sensible tactic going into the final Gameweek.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Our own Fantasy Football Scout League is on top of the Private League rankings. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8000112.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch Fenners and Merse at 18:30 Skysports One HD where they will be discussing the previous week’s Fantasy Football events, quizzing former Valencia midfielder Gaizka Mendieta and asking German legend Lothar Matthaus for his #One2Eleven.

Next Season

For next season were looking to change our Sky article slightly and will be running the article more like a blog with a Fantasy team run by myself. We will be revealing the team before the season starts and talking you through our transfer and captain decisions in a bid to try and reach as higher rank as possible.

Also if you have any suggestions or ideas you think could improve our article for next season please contact any of the Scouts or you can each me @d1sable on Twitter.

I don't think they'll put in that much effort, they barely put in effort in their last home game. Norwich can defend pretty well at home on occasion, and will probably play their hearts out for the fans.

Good to go for a -4?

Done Rooney > RVP. Need to do Ramsey > someone under 6.4. Thinking Sterling/Arnie/Barkley. Rival has Sterling.

Rival leads by 3 points. Only differences in teams are:
    ME HIM
    DDG ADRIAN

    WARD IVANOVIC

    DDG

    Repost:
I have a 7 point lead in my ML

    We have similar teams.
    The difference now is:

    ME HIM
    Kosc Zab
    Ward Coleman
    (Chester) (Evra)
    (Olsson) (Terry)
    Gerrard Sterling
    (Ward-Prowse ) (Livermore)
    Aguero Lukaku

    Should I
    A) take a hit and do Chester -> Zab to cover his better defenders (and then only have a 3 point lead)
    B) take a hit and do Ward-Prowse -> Sterling to cover for sterling (and then put Ramsey or mata on the bench, which is players we both have) (and only have a 3 point lead)
    C) Do nothing and keep my 7 point lead?

    Thankful for good advice 🙂

Who will score highest out of the following?

    Sterling/Arnie/Barkley.

Sterling playing home, others playing away, chasing title and will want to go out in style at home. West Brom only lost 1 in last 6 at home but doesn't mean Arnie can't partake in goals.

Name the teams in the derby matches
The derby name may apply to a few games but initials should only apply to one

    Soweto derby KC v OP
    New firm DU v A. And C v B
    De klassieker A v F
The super clash AK v HoO
    Antwerp derby B v RA

I think this will be my GW38 team, bringing in Hazard and Sturridge for Nasri and Podolski for -4:

    .......................Speroni
    ...............Baines - Ivan - Cahill
    Yaya - Ramsey - Mata - Hazard - Eriksen
    ................Aguero - Sturridge

    DDG; Ward, Wickham, Chester

    I'm 42 points back of 1st and 20 points ahead of 3rd..

hmmm 😠might even go balls out and cap Hazard

11pts ahead of ronH. He has Suarez.

    Mannone
    Flanagan / Azpilicueta / Kompany
Mata / Yaya Touré / Ramsey / Puncheon
van Persie / Rooney* / Agüero

    Boruc / Johnson / Ward / Chambers

    1ft, 0.0m
    .

    Would you do:

    D. Rooney->Suarez(C), raise 1.8m (somehow)

    M. Rooney/Mata -> Sturridge/Hazard

    .
If D, where would you find the 1.8m?
