        Just to clarify, when you removed Sanchez and then switched formation it removed the hole from your lineup and not Messi? You didn't have to re-add Messi to the pitch?

            Interesting. It sounds like you actually need to remove a player who has already played in order for it to work correctly.

            When I tried the same thing by removing a player who hasn't played it didn't work.

            I would say use it at your own risk.

    How does formation change work now?

    For example, if we sub out a striker now, does the system let ud sub in defenders and midfielders as well considering that allows a valid formation? Or is it stil sriker for striker, defender for defnder and midfielder for midfielder?

      In theory you should take striker out, leave a blank spot and then when you switch from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2, it should eat up that free spot rather than the player on the right.

      Just wondering if anybody has tried it though and if it's worked...

        Exactly. Free spot vanishing is the important part. Don't know if it's resolved or not. Too scared to touch anything.

        I didn't think they had changed that? I thought the fix was simply to stop players that have played from being taken out by default, but players are still lost from the right first (if you click to confirm or something)? I could be wrong though.

          I think the crux of it is that changing formation will now never remove a player whose team has played already. So say you had JRod, Cuadrado, Valbuena and Maniatis in midfield and tried to switch to 3 in midfield then it either wouldn't allow you until you sub Valbuena or it will automatically remove Valbuena.

            If I wanted to keep the score of the player on the right side of the midfield I wouldn't take the risk that he wouldn't be removed

              Not necessarily, if you wish to change formation, retaining the player on the right who has already played but removing a player to his left, which may or may not now be possible.

                  The problem comes however if your 3rd midfielder gets a middling score, so you aren't sure whether to keep him for the time being and bring in your next midfielder in 4th position, or to drop him immediately and bring in your next midfielder in 3rd position.

                  If you decide to keep him and this results in your 4th mid scoring more than your 3rd one, and later you want to replace your 3rd mid with a defender or forward, this may still not be possible.

                    If the right bias still exists, then this could be a problem I suppose. We're going to need to make some difficult decisions on whether to bench players at times whether changing formation or not, but yeah this inflexible system doesn't help matters.

          It worked when I tried it yesterday. Made a blank spot in the middle of midfield then swapped to 4-3-3 and it removed the blank spot.

                It didn't work for me with midfielders who had not yet played, but I should have a chance tomorrow to test what happens when the rightmost player has actually played, because I expect my 2 Honduran midfielders to score zero again.

      For the record, I tried it with players that haven't played yet this week and it worked incorrectly just as it did before.

      The text of the tooltip says: "You are unable to change to a formation that would remove a player who has already played during the round. You can remove players who already played manually and change the formation afterwards."

      Whether that means that it will work or not is anybody's guess.

    Formation change is fixed now.

    Billy removed a player who didn't play till then and Captain Shirokov removed a player who had already played. So, it works both ways.

    So basically it's

    Step 1- Sub out the player
    Step 2- Change formation.
    Step 3- Blank from the player subbed out vabishes irrespective of where the spot was and new spot is created.
    Step 4- Sub in your desired player.

    I see formation change being discussed, here is my thoughts:

    EXAMPLE
    I play 3-5-2 and want to switch to 3-4-3. So ideally, before the round starts I should make sure the player on the right side of each position PLAYS LAST, correct?

    My thinking behind this - if the player on the right plays last, well then should I change to 3-4-3 from 3-5-2 and lose a midfielder (the one furthest right), well then I can just sub him back in for one of my other 4 midfielders that have done badly.

    Make sense, or incorrect?

      I think that's right. In phase 1 formation changing was more of a can of worms because we hadn't all set up our players left->right in order of fixtures. Knowing to do that this time round should make our teams more flexible.

                    Yeah, I had Cholevas and Karnezis on as well and tuned in to the game with about 15 minutes to go. Have to be honest, I wasn't expecting much to begin with and was resigned to them blowing the cleanie at the end. It felt good to be proven wrong.

    So looking at scores on here and in the FFS UEFA game, 120 is a good score for a round. So 10 per player with captaincy is what we should shoot for as an answer to "is x from y any good?" it seems.

        Messi, Valbuena, Lahm, KDB/Lukaku, Dzeko, Kombarov to pick from though most would have to do quite a bit to get 13 points. The options that intrigue me the most would be obviously Messi and Lahm who got 10 points in the first game and didn't contribute anything. Having said that, might be smart to just bank the points and everything else will just be bonus
