Sky Sports Fantasy Football 2014/15 Is Now Live

As some of you may already know, the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game for 2014/15 opened its doors earlier today. With a lull in the World Cup action, Fantasy managers are afforded our first chance to dabble in domestic issues as we tentatively cobble together our initial teams for the season ahead:

The Sky Sports game is one that we’ve covered in the past, with our Members area including the relevant bonus point recipients across the positions.

After winning the Best League for each of the last couple of campaigns, we’re looking forward to defending our title once again. The winner of last season’s Scout League picked up £1,000 for their achievements and we’re hoping to offer prizes for whoever finishes at the summit once again.

We’ll be re-starting our official league soon and will be rolling out a series of articles over the next couple of weeks, looking at the Player List and analysing the best tactical approaches. Regular contributor d1sable will be on board once again to give his hints and tips every Friday afternoon – having finished inside the top 10 last year, he’s clearly a man worth listening to.

    Thoughts on my Sun Dream Team:

    Lloris
    De Vriij, Vlaar, Blind, 1m.
    Valbuena, Di Maria, Robben
    Messi, Neymar, RVP

    Taking JRod & Muller out who I've had from the start and hoping for a big score from the dutch/differential in Valbuena. Could look a compete fool but trying to get high up as possible! Currently 13k.

      It could be a gamble worth taking if Brazil knock them out and Germany probably won't get many against a good France defence so Muller isn't guaranteed anything. I've stuck with them both in mine though. Too scared.

      Navas.

      There has been a goalkeeper in the top 10 for scoring every week with scores from 16-19. Worth the risk if you want to make-up some positions late in the game.

    I don't have Neymar in my team and it is worrying me a bit as my rivals all have him.

    I have Messi, Robben, Muller and J.Campbell as my strikers in the 'fantasy league' game (which is rather rubbish).

    I only have a few transfers left so not sure if it's worth taking any of my 4 strikers out for Neymar just yet.

        Unfortunately Neymar is 0.5 more expensive than Muller so I can't.

        The only person I can do a straight swap for is Messi unless I do 2 transfers.

    Hi folks... McSHITE game and not doing too badly 463 points..... Up until last round I'd reached the dizzy heights of the top 100.....

    Forwards are muller, messi, neymar (robben) plus an cheapie non player....

    This about right or do I need to squeeze Benz back in? He's been ever present for me so far but his returns have deteriorated.

          The xx's are in need of filling in imo.
          Dembele, Paulinho, Sandro don't do enough defensively or going forward to merit selection imo.
          Lennon, Chadli, Townsend aren't good enough to start.
          Holtby can't really play with Eriksen on the field.

            Agree. Would like a new striker as well, too much ups and down with Adebayor. Think Poch needs to offload some players - too many central midfileders Dembele, Paulinho, Holtby, Sigurdsson.

                  Think one of the biggest problems last season was too much rotation. The players need to find their spot in the team and both AVB and TS rotated way too much.

    I am looking at the following but need to save a few million on it.

    Any thoughts on where to cut down would be greatly appreciated.

      Is this McDonald's? Tejeda, Gago and Aguilar are the weaker links in my opinion. Some will say Di Maria should be subbed out but I really think he could score well.

    Thoughts on Fernandinho ? I thought Neymar was the only Brazilian worth considering, but they face Colombia so a defensive mid could be a good idea and Fernandinho is only 6M.

    So Van Persie is a doubt for Holland, proper pain in the ass for me as was planning on captaining him in the Mirror (i`m 3rd overall, so in for a good chance of the 10 grand first prize). Its do or die now, i either play safe for 500 quid third prize or go balls deep for £10,000
