With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

    Torn atm between:

    DDG (4.0)
Cahill / Enrique / Caulker rotating with (Mariappa) (Bruce)
Mata / Sterling / Ramsey / Lamela (Marney)
    Rooney / Costa / Bojan

    or

    DDG (4.0)
Jagielka / Enrique . Ferdinand rotating with (Mariappa) (Bruce)
Toure / Sterling / Ramsey / Mirallas (Marney)
    Rooney / Costa / Bojan

    So basically the question is:

    a) Cahill + Caulker + Mata + Lamela
    or
    b) Jagielka + Ferdinand + Y. Toure + Mirallas

    What do you all think?

    Foster (Krul)
Van Aanholt, Chester, Ward (Duff, Clyne)
    Ramsey, Fabregas, Eriksen, Mata (Sigurdsson)
    Austin, Rooney, Diego Costa

Haven't made any changes to it in quite some time. I think this will be my final draft.

Spurs seem to be (from the friendlies) playing Lamela in the hole so he might be a consideration if you're looking at throwing your hat into the Tottenham MF. Although Eriksen does have FKs I think.

I'm not sure how much of an attacking role Fabregas is going to be given at Chelsea. He's on my wait and see list.

He would be the obvious choice, but in fairness there are 4 options that you can look at, Dzeko, Bony, Adebayor and Jovetic.

They are all going to be better picks at the start of the season than Giroud imo, but choosing the right one will be difficult.

Obviously Jovetic should only be considered as a short term option, but could very well be explosive and kick start your season.

Bony and Adebayor are the focal points of their respective attacks, which makes them fairly safe, but with Adebayor perhaps not suiting Poch's playing style and lingering transfer rumours involving Bony, these 2 will need to be monitored right up until the deadline to establish their likelihood of getting decent amounts of game time.

Dzeko looks as if he'll be playing a lot for City in the early stages of the season, and his previous seasons will tell you that he can rack up points quickly, which I believe makes him the best choice at 8.5 for the start of the season.

Hutton may not start, Wanyama will most likely get lots of minutes, but take note if he's playing higher up the pitch this season, if not there might be better choices for a 5th mid. I'd only go Austin if Remy went, otherwise I'd have Ideye or Bojan to start with.

Evening all. Thoughts on this team?

    3-5-2

    Begovic/Fabianski (really like the rotation)
    Debuchy/Cahill/Evans/B.Davies/N.Taylor
    Fabregas/Mata/Eriksen/Arny/Siggy
    Rooney/Lukaku/Zamora

    0.5 in bank
Few thoughts, went for cahill as considered more nailed on than luis imo but is this possible to be reversed and have 1 mil to play with
In addition, was unsure over hazards fitness for the start of the season and went for fabregas who appears to be playing in the hole. Then used the cash to upgrade to arny as unsure of barkley.
Finally up top Lukaku is the big decision atm with Dzeko/Jovetic scrapping, Giroud unsure and Bony meh...

Front 8 comes at a price unfortunately…any alternative options at 4.5 or 5 you'd opt for over what I've got?

I reckon Davies will do well like Shaw under Poch last season. Ward is attacking plus Pulis defense usually equals points. Caulker there for goal threat.

Would you good people mind RMTing the below?:

    Mannone / Krul

B Davies, Azpi, J Evans (Mariappa / Baird)
    Ramsey, Mata, Hazard, Siggy (Hoilett)
    Rooney, Boney, Jovetic

    100m total

GK: Mannone can change to Pantimillion if he plays the last friendly. Cheapest rotating GK pair and I need the cash.

DEF: I think Davies and Apzi will start. I think the versatility of Apzil will see him have more playing time as he can play both flanks. Mourinho also stated a team of Apzis would win the champions league so he rates him. I don't rate Rose and Davies is a Poch signing and very good inmho.

Mariappa and Baird rotate to cover bad games from my über defenders. I feel Baird will start as DFM and not sure who Mariappa competition is so willing to risk it.

MID: I toyed with Fab but feel he will drop back and Haz was a monster last season. Siggy and Hoilett rotate well and Hoilett is playing in the hole.

FWD: Taking a risk on Jovetic as his form is so good and Augero will only have one preseason game, so doubt he will be ready for the first game. Did have Giroud but his firm is awful and Bony is more nailed on and has good fixtures after the first. Also he scored most if his goals against top four last season.

Let me know your rating out of ten and would love any feed back. Thanks

Pulis has a Rep for tight defences so think the Palace love is justified. Other option is Cameron but won't rotate with a 4.0 as far as I know

Any money in the bank? Can't really see where it's gone apart from Rooney and Sanchez. A lot of differentials in there which could pay off, but could massively flop.

Ferdinand a worry with fitness/consistency and not much attacking threat.

Tadic and Cabella I'd wait and see how they get on first.

You set on having double Arsenal mid? Might be worth swapping one out to bring in one of Haz/Fab/Mata etc.

Rose is surely back up this season to Davies and Cameron not guaranteed starts.Like the midfield (had mirallas last year, sub appearance frustration but so selfish its a must) and hoilett's a good punt. Up top Jovetic is a wait and see imo as depends what formation city play and Dzeko etc.

Is Rose nailed on or will he be rotated with Davies apart from that good team

RMT, reasonably happy after lots of tinkering

    Begovic (Myhill)
    Shaw, Baines, Cameron (Trippier, Clyne)
    Sanchez, Snodgrass, Young, Arnautovic (Siggy)
    Jovetic, Costa, Rooney

    Bank 0.0

    critique appreciated

I like it - you've gone for a back line I've been umming and arring about in that you've primarily gone for attacking full backs. I've recently taking Trippier and Shaw out though - Trip to see how he gets on in the prem and he has some tough fixtures to start with. And Shaw cause I'm not sure he'll start given his 'weight issues'.

You may want to consider taking Trip out and monitoring him and downgrading Sanchez to Ramsey, then bolster your midfield a bit as its the lightest area (although I like your choices, perhaps look to get Sterling, Mata, or Fab in.

      Nice work though.

Thanks for the replies, even if i don't know what "reverse oop" means

Changed Shaw, Arnie, Sanchez to Debuchy, Ramsay, Sterling

        Begovic (Myhill)
        Debuchy, Baines, Cameron (Trippier, Clyne)
        Ramsay, Sterling, Snodgrass, Young (Siggy)
        Rooney, Costa, Jovetic

        Better?

Lost on last page…any more feedback much appreciated

    Krul

    B.Davies Ward Caulker

    Mata Fab Ramsey Siggy

    Roo Dzeko Sturridge

    Bench: Myhill, Vlaar, Wisdom, Albrighton

Front 8 comes at a price unfortunately…any defence alternative options at 4.5 or 5 you'd opt for over what I've got?

I reckon Davies will do well like Shaw under Poch last season. Ward is attacking plus Pulis defense usually equals points. Caulker there for goal threat.

I tinkered with my team a bit!

    Foster (Krul)
Van Aanholt, Chester, Ward (Collocini, Clyne)
    Ramsey, Sterling, Eriksen, Mata (Sigurdsson)
    Austin, Rooney, Diego Costa

Collocini should still be a certain starter, regardless of Lascelles signing, right?

        Ta!

Regarding your team, I personally don't like what you've done. Don't think Yaya's worth it. Mata+Pelle > Young+Nugent are really bad moves in my opinion.

    Tadic + Nugent

    Or

    Sterling + Zamora .

    Gonna play 3-5-2 ..sometimes 3-4-3

Have room and Costa upfront ..
No pool coverage other than that

Hi! This is my first ever season and am very excited to get started. Not fully sussed out points and strategy, but this is my current thinking:

    krul guzan

    evans luis cameron (wisdom bruce)

    mata hazard siggy eriksen (albright)

    rooney dzeko costa

Any thoughts? Is the defence much too weak? If so, my plan would be to sell Costa and get Zarate instead (in order to bolster D). He's so much better than Bojan (the perennial player for the future) that so many on here seem to like despite him flopping everywhere apart from one mediocre season in a mediocre dutch league.

The obvious worry is that 4 of your 5 defenders aren't nailed on, Cameron's probably worth the risk at 4.5 but you'll feel pretty silly if Luis ends up on your bench and neither of your cheapies are starting either. Other than that it's strong, and I think you've spent enough at the back, but it might be worth considering losing Luis for the time being and spreading that cash around a bit to ensure you've got players who are going to start.
