With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is Athletico Timbo’s RMT.

Krul, Mannone
Cahill, Terry, Ben Davies, Wisdom, Moore
Mata, Eriksen, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Albrighton
Rooney, Dzeko, Adebayor.

0.5 in the bank

Timbo tells us he is  happy with his midfield and attack but has major concerns at the back. John Terry and Gary Cahill are season keepers, and he feels they will play every week  but it’s the third defensive spot that worries him. Ideally he’d like another constant to play every week alongside his Chelsea duo so that he can use those precious transfers for more pressing matters, like jumping on the right bandwagons at the right time. He could be persuaded to have a couple of rotating cheap defenders instead of Ben Davies and Liam Moore – there’s a spare half a million floating around if that helps. Lastly, his goalkeeping combo seems to be collapsing around his ears. Is it too risky to stick with Vito Mannone? Should he go with David De Gea or is there something better out there?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Hull drew level in the 27th minute when Robbie Brady found the space to pick out Elmohamady, whose powerful header squeezed over the line.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 80th minute, debutant Robert Snodgrass heading Elmohamady's cross into the six-yard box for Aluko to prod home.

      Cheers 🙂

I used to have Mannone/Krul, but opted for Foster/Krul as it works better for rotating keepers, otherwise not a bad team

Cameron, Dummett and Wisdom might not play.

Basically you've got all your budget in the middle and hardly any at the other ends so you need to think about that. What will you do when ( or if ) Studge, Costa, Aguero and the like start banging the goals in? What if Chelsea defend as well as last season and Terry grabs a couple of goals early on?
I'd start again with a balanced defence and work forward.

I do think Pelle and Bojan upfront is quite risky, I would look to free up some cash by downgrade Yaya, or maybe Sanchez > Ramsey and upgrade a few other areas.

    Team A or Team B
    Team A
GK – Foster/Krul – believe this offers the best rotation between 2 £4.5 million keepers
DF – O’shea/Duff/Chester/Ferdinand/Coloccini – Not the best defenders admittedly, and Duff is a punt at £4 million, but hope to rotate across the season then use my team value to build up a better defence.
MF – Sanchez/Mata/Hazard/Siggy/Young – Fairly happy with my midfield, Young is a punt however he is in great form in pre-season and seems to be revitalized under LVG
ST – Rooney/Costa/Rivière – Rivière is my wildcard pick here, could be a gem at £7 million
    Team B
    GK – Foster/Krul
DF – Caulker, O Shea, C Davies, Taylor, Coloccini
    MF Sanchez/Mata/Hazard/Siggy/Young
    ST - Rooney/Costa/Bojan

    Many thanks gents 😀

      Defence too cheap.

Not a fan of rotating gks. Newcastle and WBA aren't very good defensively no matter their fixtures.

Nice in the middle don't like the Young punt.

      Riviere no way.

Thought I'd never come here but here goes

    Bego Krul
    Cahill Ward Chester Rio Moore
    Hazard Fabregas Mata Eriksen Sigg
    Rooney Dzeko 4.5

Thinking of an exit plan once Kun returns. Alternatively I could get Costa for Dzeko which will mean a 7m mid or striker. Any ideas?

    Thoughts?

    GK: Howard (Schmeichel)
    DC: Vertonghen
    DC: Debuchy (Wisdom)
    DC: Evans (Moore)
    MF: Sigurdsson
    MF: Mata
    MF: Sanchez
    MF: Henderson
    MF: Fabregas
    ST: Rooney
    ST: Dzeko (Nugent)

Really struggling to decide on anything up top, at least at the moment there appears to be a lack of nailed on goal scorers without injuries/potential WC hangovers/guarenteed playing time. Also toiling over snodgrass > Henderson & Dzeko > Pelle with the money saved going towards Barkley/Dejong > Henderson. Bit of a punt that though.

    De Gea - (Myhill)
    Baines - Luis - Pieters - (Clyne - Wisdom)
    Henderson - Yaya - Noble - Wilshere - (Jedinak)
    Giroud - Costa - Rooney (c)

I feel like Giroud will is a good bet with the quality of Arsenals mids. Yaya coz he's yaya. Can always down yaya to nasri, up wilshere to ramsey. Thoughts?

Don't worry about what people say about Baines, he's a great option if you can find decent value elsewhere to make up for the extra in defence...

I'm seriously considering starting with him...

Not a huge fan of your midfield, however, too punty... Noble, Wilshere, Hendo, could all do well, but most likely won't be scoring that well... you'd be facing a lot of 2-3 pts waiting on their inconsistent hauls, and that's just gonna frustrate you...

Decided to do something a little different this season. Looking for more balance and hoping some players can shine with their early solid fixtures:

    Begovic Krul

    Vertonghen Clyne Ward Ferdinand Coloccini

    Hazard Mata Eriksen Tadic Sigurdsson

    Rooney Bony Austin

Nothing left in the kitty. Love how solid the team looks, and I finally found a defence I'm happy with! Bony and Rooney won't be moving from that front 3, and Austin is my punt with his good early fixtures while others choose Bojan. Don't exactly want Coloccini, but I can't see another 4.5 or lower defender who I wanna start on the field and keep for a while.

Thoughts and comments are always appreciated. This'll be my last RMT until after the Community Shield...cue more bandwagons 😛

    Begovic (Gilks)
    Luis Kolarov Caulker Evans (Mariappa)
    Sterling Ramsey Mata (Sigurdsson Albrighton)
    Austin Costa Rooney

-I understand Kolarov is not nailed but I feel like the majority of games he will start for a side capable of racking up clean sheets with tons of attacking upside to boot and I think my defense is strong enough to cover the matches that he gets rotated for

We need a burning question article analyzing the prospects of third strikers.

Every RMT I see has either a punt/hope third striker who is high risk or they've savaged some other part of their team (usually defense) to fit in a solid front three.

Something comparing the prospects the luxury third strikers (e.g. Dzeko) right down to the 5.5s flooding RMTs right now would be incredibly useful.

I agree with the real premium strikers (Rooney/Costa/Sturridge), but it seems to me that even the strikers at 8.5 have some hair.

Dzeko seems to be only guaranteed a couple of matches before the City rotation circus starts, and Giroud seems to be struggling for fitness. And I don't know which team Bony will be on.

Seems to me that many are struggling with that third striker spot.

I must be the first person to accidentally post a non-RMT in the RMT section.

Lukaku might be worth a look but I think Dzeko will be alright certainly at least for the short term. What I would say though is that there shouldn't be more than 1 of these 8.5-9m strikers in your team for the very reason's you've touched on.

That's my feeling as well. I want two strikers on top teams who will play - currently on Costa/Rooney, which I think is near template now. Third is the pain - stretch for Dzeko/Lukaku or go budget with Austin/Bojan. Obviously makes a big difference to your midfield/defense.

This problem is the reason for the Bojan/Jovetic bandwagons I think - everyone looking for a third striker they can believe in.

You might have one too many risky players in defence. I'd look to get at least one more nailed on player there, Bruce, Wisdom, Cameron and even Terry are all at risk of not starting.

Considering the Rags think Phil Beckenbauer Jones is the future England captain maybe him.

I've gone Evans. Smalling can play rb and they have Rafael. Valencia and another cb on the way

Interesting defence, its not exactly template but that might be a good thing. Just be sure that Onuoha and Yoshida will be regular starters, I'm not certain myself. Vertonghen, Chester and Colo are fine though so you should be ok.

Attack looks strong, can't really fault it. Decent team really.

Every single member of your back 5 bothers me in some way.

No city????? Silva. Yaya. Nasri. Aguero. Jovetic. Kola

          Sanchez not sure of YET

Bony and Austin.....no dzeko. Costa. Giroud. Sturridge. Aguero.

          Not for me

Coming 1.3 mil last doesn't quite convince me to get all these.Although tinkering with a new team to see what i get

Toss a coin between Jones and Evans. I see Jones has higher ownership but I think Evans is favoured more by the FFS regulars (not sure why).

Hold steady on Verm, might yet go to Barcelona.

Excellent team.. Very close to mine.. I'd probably downgrade Luis till the time he nails down a spot.. You could try getting hoilett for hendo and get Cahill with the extra cash

Pieters and Wisdom are both doubtful starters, particularly Pieters.

Cant really fault the attack though, some solid players in there.

    A) Bartley or Hutton? Hutton right?
    B) Why is Chester out of so many drafts?

      A) I'd back Hutton, I understand Villa aren't in the greatest of financial situations to sign new players. Whereas Bartley is at particular risk in this transfer window.

      B) No idea why, solid nailed on defender with good fixtures. I'm only guessing its because of europa that people are hesitant.

    A) DDG (myhill)
    terry - debuchy - ferdinand ( bruce - wisdom)
Hazard - mata - sterling - siggy (albrighton)
    Rooney - dzeko - lukaku

    B) DDG (myhill)
Terry - debuchy - ferdinand (bruce - wisdom)
Yaya, Hazard, Mata, Sterling, siggy (albrighton)
Rooney - Bojan (nugent) Rotate nugent and bojen

Thoughts?? was thinking B as a very different team however still solid?
