With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

De Gea/Hamer

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back, just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later. He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

  Mannone > 4m will give you extra to upgrade Vlaar. It looks like being a long, hard slog for Villa again so I'd steer clear, unless he moves to a better team. Palace rotate nicely with QPR so you could look at them. Bruce might not play, depending on the formation.
  You've got Puncheon but the midfield lacks punch. No Mata, Hazard or City? Lambert's a great pick if Sturridge is injured but not otherwise. Lukaku could be inspired. Good luck.

  I would switch out Vlarr for someone like Caulker. He rotates well with Ward. Lambert seems to be in a rotation with lallana and coutinho so I cant see him playing. You could add a Pelle/Remy/jovetic...all better replacments for Lambert. Also, you are missing a ManU/Man city attacke and they look to be ready to score bunches this year. Mata is on fire and only 0.5 more than Sterlimg and has much easier fixtures.

      Straight away I am looking at sanchez. Can you not replace him with ramsey/Gerrard, that gives you 1.5 million, if you can find .5 elsewhere I would get him over Siggy.
      
      All depends on how well you think sanchez will do. I personally have my doubts until i know where he will play. if he plays RW, not worth the price. Through the middle, he is worth the price!

      You are on a lot on money with costa, rooney, hazard and sanchez. I would downgrade sanchez to get ramsey, you save a lot of money without losing too many points. That would let you upgrade either Bojan or you backs. Neither Bruce nor Wisdom are nailed to start. I an a big fan of Palace's Defence as well as QPR's. Maybe Ward instead of Bruce if you can free up funds.
      
      As Tekkers said, how much faith do you have in Sanchez?? Good luck this year.

    Firstly, I don't know if there is any love for Naismith. Secondly, he will play regardless of whether Lukaku plays or not as Martinez clearly fancies him as a striker especially in away games. Finally, he is as likely to score points as Bojan but is 0.5m cheaper.

      I have seen Naismith in a few teams and it is a peculiar selection. The fact of the matter is, he isn't nailed on. Lukaku, Barkley, Osman, Pienaar, McCarthy, Naismith and Mirallas are all competing for the front 4 positions on the pitch. Naismith will be rotated.

        Honestly, I'd like to see him rotated before considering him a rotation risk. He started in their last 7-8 games (last year) and is a constant in their pre-season friendlies.

        I agree that 5.5 down there is not much to like. I prefer nugent or ulloa because i think they will be 1st choice at leicester, but you clearly have a decent thought process on it.

        Well, I just have to have Lord Yaya in my team. I fear his price is only likely to go up as his ownership is still at "only" 23% (correct me if I'm wrong on this). It's been a nightmare trying to fit him in at 11.0m and getting him in at 11.5m or so is going to be a terrible headache. One position in my team had to be a write-off and I went with the 3rd striker as opposed to the 5th mid. Having said that, you could also argue that having Young in is also a waste but at least he's done something in pre-season.

  Yeah I'm trying to weigh up these options as well. My logic is to go with DDG because there seems to be a lack of solid GKer options, particularly ones that rotate. I'd also like to keep a United defender option open to see if they get a cheap new CB like Vlaar.

  Thats actually a really good team. I like the structure you have going in in defence with the 2 4m options backing up the main 3. There are a few question marks around Luis, Duff and Wisdom but you should get away with it in the first few weeks at least.
  
  I'm still cautious over Bojan myself but I understand the appeal. Solid team.

  Goal keepers are very iffy.
  
  Not convinced by Vlaar or Bruce. Possible starting question marks over Terry and Shaw for GW1 but they will probably be ok.
  
  Young and Bojan might be a bit punty. Perhaps consider going with just one of them if you can move some funds around.

      You might as well Keep Bojan in there. You'd need to use the 1m to do slight upgrades in defence. Bruce isn't nailed on so consider getting Chester instead. N Taylor of Swansea might be a better bet than Moore as well. If you have enough cash there are a couple of 6m strikers around from promoted teams that might be ok.

  Until we know who will actually perform I think that is as good as it's gonna get. You went with dzeko and chester where I went with bojan and terry, but other than that it seems well balanced. I would consider someone else than wanyama for the 5th midfielder, but not sure who would be the better pick and if you have another 0.5 in the bank to make it a 5.0 player.

    Thanks mate, I've gone with Wanyama over Albrighton because I feel that Albrie is the ideal candidate for a price fall given his non nailed on ness and tough fixtures.
    
    I went with Dzeko because I'm fairly convinced now after Pellegrini's comments yesterday, that he would start the first 3-4 fixtures. Would give the chance to assess the less pricy bandwagons (Bojan,Austin,Diouf etc) by then.

    I support Southampton and have followed their pre-season and it looks like he will be playing in place of JRod. He has played practically every game and has scored some decent goals as well, so he could prove to be a good money maker.

  Not too bad, just beware that Rose will provide competition with Davies. The rest of the team is solid though but keep an eye on Giroud's game time and form. It wouldnt surprise me to see him on the bench more than a few times this season.

    Giroud : I've considered that but am hoping that to start the season Walcotts absence should give him some initial security for that position up the middle.
    
    Davies : well noted, im hoping my 4.5 defenders will serve as solid substitutes if he isnt holding down the starting role and transfer out if necessary. Would have liked vert but would have to drop ward to a 4.0 or upgrade davies and drop both 4.5s to 4.0s...
    
    Any preference on jones or evans? 🙂
